Think there'll be CL teams in for him anyway.
-
Cracking game that.
-
Georgia would beat a lot of the sides left in this tournament, they have just come up against a team who are almost impossible to play against on their day.
-
I think Minteh has a much higher potential ceiling than Anderson and the interest in him reflected that. But anyway, we'll see. Anderson whatever he does from here won't let anyone down.
-
I saw Alex make this same point on the TTR channel, I think he used Lewis Hall as an example which is fair enough really.
-
I really don't know what's so hard to grasp about this. We've sold him because PSR forced us to, not because we wanted to as a club. Given the choice I think we would have waited until later in the summer and moved on Almiron or Wilson first, or Longstaff for that matter. In the end we had to sell reluctantly IMO because we ran out of time. Don't see why we should be jumping for joy over it, from what I saw of him, I'd much rather have had him at the club than Miggy next season.

While that's true, it's also on the PL heads to have forced perfectly healthy clubs into these transactions just to maintain their preferred cartel hierarchy. It should be none of their business how we spend our money.
-
Please be true.

Not if he turns out to be another Salah you wouldn't. I mean it's all just guesswork one way or another, but if Brighton want him I reckon there's a player there. But £33m is a very good fee, if we can spend it on the right player, that's all we can ask for.
-
Feels like this one's already done tbh, just waiting for it to become official.
-
It is but that all depends on what we are paying for this non-entity of a goalkeeper. If it's around £10m then I won't complain, he can pick the kids up from school for that much.
-
I get that there will be some creative accounting going on here, but I'd like to think there's at least a £15m difference in the valuation given the keeper seems to be rated as absolute tosh and he's 30 yrs old.
-
It's not even a case of replacing Schar, it's about buying someone as his understudy.
-
He can't possibly be valued at that much man. He's 30 yrs old and can't get in their first team. At least with Anderson he's still only 21 and might become a player.
-
Realistically how much over the odds can it be? He's 30 yrs old and can't even get in their first team.
-
Unless we are paying £25m I guess it's ok?
-
I'm confused I thought we were signing some over the hill John Ruddy fella as our waste of space GK backup?
-
The PL still have the authority to rubber stamp it or not though right? I'm pretty sure the clubs didn't vote for our takeover by PIF.
-
I'd still rather we got £20m for him from Saudi than £3m from a club he likes, but that's just me being selfish as a Newcastle fan. He's entitled to stick with what he wants, and so are we, nothing wrong with it.
-
Good. They probably thought they couldn't lose with the backing of the cartel, but even those clubs have been adversely affected.
-
I think Howe is ambitious enough to be ok with it.
-
Why? Are Forest interested in buying him?
-
Not really, they can usually afford to buy the finished article.
-
Agree. I would still rather have kept him than take the £35m personally, I really liked the look of him, very exciting player. We now need to sign someone of genuine calibre out wide to make up for it.
-
It's just not sustainable. The PL should have stayed out of this and let the free market do it's thing. Trying to bring in restrictive rules and regulations decades after allowing some clubs to run riot was never going to work. They will end up getting tied up in endless litigation unless they call it a day IMO.
