He doesn't look overjoyed does he? Maybe the drive through the Mersey slums has given him a rude wake up call?

With all the money they've spent I wonder whether that will be considered good enough? I doubt it somehow. Dalglish will be given plenty of slack by fans and board imo. Sorting out Hodgson's mess, give him time blah blah etc. If they are up and around 4th or 5th Dalglish will get some slack, if they fall behind the pace then their whiney fans will turn quite quickly imo. Especially if the football isn't what they are used to, and remembering what he did here, you couldn't rule it out.

I wonder what those tearing their hair out at us letting Jose go before this game will make of that?

You clearly haven't seen Ameobi then It was obvious you were leading up to an Ameobi slagging with the initial question tbh.

Is the interest even serious? Douglas didn't seem to think so and while he might be clueless you would think he must have a reason for doubting it.
-
Liverpool had called the deal off at some point earlier this week. Maybe they were threatening to pull the plug so if he played against Arsenal he wasn't going to give 100% and risk getting injured.

Until we actually get the bodies through the door this is the sort of grief him and his bosses are going to get. It come with the territory and the more games we play while these "negotiations" drag on the worse it will get.

If I was in an optimistic mood I might think all this Pieters stuff is just a smokescreen for M'bengue. But right now I doubt it.
-
I'm pretty sure he was our preferred choice initially so if we are now in for Pieters we must have been priced out.
-
Not through handshakes though, surely If you didn't get one you'd wonder why though wouldn't you?

Pardew would seem to be marking the line with players who are for Newcastle and those who have been griping. Sometimes it's necessary to get rid of the bad blood for a manager to get a team's loyalty. There may be some who are still loyal to Hughton and who will miss big salaries in the coming seasons.

Wish these idiots would just keep out of it. I wish people would shut the fuck up about us selling all of our players, because it clearly isn't happening. There isn't anything that could've been done to keep Enrique IMO. It's like people need something to panic about., We could have turned down the £6m offer and told him he's seeing out his contract like. Because forcing players to stay when they're unhappy would work so well. There's a reason Arsenal are selling Fabregas. After forcing him to stay for the past 2-3 seasons? I'm pretty sure Jose would have gotten on with the job at hand and not been in a perma-sulk for 12 month, we would only be making him play at our club, not keeping him shackles and keeping him on bread and rice. If we have no one coming in I would agree. If the money is going to be used to get Pieters in then it was the right decision to get him out of our club.

I wouldn't give either of them the time of day. They are now scouse scum as far as I'm concerned and both can get buggered up the arse for all I care.

Maybe they will use the money to try and buy Pieters rather than let Jose leave for nothing in 12 months and have no money to buy a replacement next season. They can use the money once the fee's agreed without having to wait till we see Jose being paraded about in red though. At the same time as Jose is in Liverpool we could have Erik on Tyyneside If we could cut out all negotiations with his club and just bring Pieters over without their permission then yes we could do that. You know what I mean. Liverpool have wanted him for fucking ages. There is no justification for doing this deal without running the Pieters on parallel How do you know that's not happening? Do both deals have to be synchronised by stopwatch?

Pretty sure the £30-40m we've made the past 6 months would be enough to buy us a left back mind. I'm sure I said it earlier in this thread that we were never going to sign a left back until Enrique was gone for obvious reasons.

They know it fine well, it's just an excuse to whinge.

Not surprised we sold after Jose turned down what was a very good offer. The £6m isn't much but that's because he ran his contract down and wants to play for a higher profile team. Other than offer him money which is beyond our wage structure at this time there's not a lot we could do within reason. If the money goes towards buying a decent replacement I'm okay with it.

Neither will get contracts like they are on here, if they do imo.

Let's follow them at their new clubs and give them blow jobs in their new jerseys at half time.
