Playing some nice stuff by the sound of it, just need a bit more of a killer instinct. Pissing this really.

Sorry! the term freeview is highly misleading. Trusty old radio it is then.

It's on tv?

I actually don't see this idea that it has to be Smith and xxxxxx or Butt and xxxxxxx every time. I'm sure there are plenty of teams out there that don't play with a defensive midfielder in EVERY game. I mean Guthrie and Nolan would surely work in the Championship? Too cavalier. We are right to be worrying about the central midfielders teams like Plymouth Argyle have, they're basically Michael Essiens in disguise. Can't wait to see how Butt and Nolan fare in midfield for 90 mins. They'll need wheelchairs by the end if those young scamps from Plymouth give them too much of a run around.

Unlucky for him, but otherwise it's probably the most balanced side Hughton's put out, with two proper wide players for a change. Not sure about Carroll and Loven up front though> neither works very well with their team mates.

Local heroes bless 'em.
-
Seen no evidence of his ability going forward here. At Blackburn anyone who can run with the ball without tripping over his own feet is probably considered a good footballer.
-
Decent back up player, unfortunately he's likely to be first choice RB next season and I don't think he offers enough going forward in the Premier. Football starts at the back, it's not easy to play a passing game if the full backs aren't playing a prominent role.
-
Worth remembering he took over a side built by Mark Hughes which was also fairly functional so he did ok for a while. One trick pony.
-
how much was that ? 2mill or so wasn't it ? Well they say pennies make pounds, and every million or two adds to the bill. Keegan's costs were probably covered by the mnagers union, wheras our costs are paid by the fans at the end of the day.
-
Maybe. I think too many average, overpaid English managers is the real problem. Otherwise why is Fatso at the bottom of the table while MClaren and Curbishley aren't even in employment in this country while the national team is being led by an Italian? All three were leading candidates for England manager before Capello won the job.

Originally wanted us to play the kids but I've changed my mind. They've had a rest and they now need a game with no pressure on it. I don't really care if the kids play or the grandads, it would be nice to see 11 players turning out in their natural positions. For Hughton that would be the zaniest experiment of all time.

City bought his services but clearly not his heart.

all this is brinkmanship from leeds they probably want to move him on as he aint going to sign a new contract but want more, while we ain't going to offer more, leeds are hoping one of these supposed prem teams that are apparently intrested meet their asking price, which i can't see either. Don't be surprised if leeds accept the 1.5m offer later in the window if it still stands as would ken bates really throw away 1.5m plus however much beckfords wages will cost for the rest of the season and lose him for nowt? Leeds are going to sell this month but they aren't fussy who they sell to. As soon as they've lined up a replacement they'll accept the best offer on the table. It might be ours, Ashley will have to figure out whether it's worth saving a few hundred grand to risk someone else putting in a late bid.
-
I'm just surprised that after all the criticism of Ashley's regime of lack of open communication, someone couldn't have replied here rather than send selective emails. NUST are carrying out a pretty public campaign against Ashley after all.
-
What swift response? You are posting it second hand from some other source presumably. I still don't understand how all this anti-Ashley stuff from the NUST is going to end in them buying him out which presumably is the point. It is the point isn't it?

Another post I find hard to argue with bob. The problem with all our central midfielders is that none of them have any pace or stamina. The running during most games tends to come from Jonas or Enrique with the rest either strolling a few paces behind or watching fascinated. Barton is another one though. Strolls around the centre circle missing tackles and passes for the most part.
-
That should be interesting. I imagine it will go somewhere along the lines of "Get out of our club get out of our cluuub! you fat cockney bastard... get out of our club" negotiations should go swimmingly.
-
Fergie's not usually so easily manipulated by public feeling. After the last world cup everyone wanted Ronaldo booted out of England but SAF held on tight. Next it will probably be Berbatov's turn to be hounded out, but from what I've seen he's not the problem. Still, I suppose no one will pay £20m for Owen.
-
The nail in the coffin was fat bastards like you Sam, bringing an army of over-paid psychologists and advisors who couldn't point out to you the stupidity of playing long ball football with strikers like Martins and Owen. Wonder whether all the experts who told us we were fools for sacking Allardyce will admit they were wrong tomorrow? I doubt it.
-
You need to calm down. That's good advice. I hope NUST are listening.
-
It doesnt really make any difference where Ashley and Llambias are if they have settled their business or can do it from wherever they are at the moment. The reason people get wound up is that every transfer window ends up being a major disappointment. Kilgallon was supposed to have signed last summer for example and has now effectively told us to fuck off. It would hardly be a surprise if the Beckford situation turns out to be a similar story.
-
Quite funny that the two players most people on here voted as their ideal CM partnership, Barton and Guthrie, actually play the least amount of games in the centre and are usually shunted out wide. Still, what do the fans know. Who cares anyway. They are all slow as fuck.
-
didn't they have an article slagging off llambias a few months ago on their website? They did and I posted somewhere on this thread that I was surprised how hostile it was considering that at some point NUST will be looking to negotiate with Ashley if their plan to buy the club from him pans out. I can't imagine when Moat was trying to buy Newcastle he was slagging Ashley off publicly. Not if he wanted to get the best price possible. If I was a serious business investor I'd be concerned to say the least that this sort of stuff is being published.
