Todd Boehly says "Hi and thanks for all the Abramovich cash your Majesty's govt!"

Long live the Glazers and their stranglehold on Man U. That is all.
-
Now you are just barefaced lying.

Why should we have to wait 15 years to be able to compete with the cartel while you make hay and continue to lock up everything in the meantime? Man U fans were desperate for middle east investment, I can guarantee you would have wanted zillions spent on the squad as well as the infrastructure. You deserve getting fleeced by your American owners if you are bringing that attitude. Hope they keep piling the debt on and creaming off the profits for themselves.

Same old same old from Eddie. He's right, we can't afford to sign mediocrity. He's not daft, he's got his own team working on it, I'm sure we'll get a couple in at least.
-
I just think if we are bidding for any players the cartel have an eye on, doesn't matter who is leading the negotiations, we can't compete with their wages. Yes it would help to have a proper recruitment structure obviously, but don't think we would have any of those players bar Trafford as we could have signed him last year. But we spent all our time chasing Guehi for some reason.

That's part of it. The other part is that we are bidding for players against cartel clubs where we have very little chance of success. Like I said yesterday, it's like taking a knife to a gunfight. Whoever is in charge of recruitment will have his work cut out there as we are finding. Still, if we can get Sesko and/or Wissa, we might still come out of this looking ok.

Man U do have pull, don't care what people say on here. They are a historically big club with a massive worldwide fanbase. But we can't compete with the cartel because of the way you have rigged PSR. At least admit that much if you want recognition as a big club.

This is the only caveat for me, if Howe thinks we can sell him and replace him with a player he wants fair enough. I'm not a fan of this, and supposedly Howe is really good friends with Richard Hughes and will have discussed the move to Liverpool according to Graham Bailey - so take with a pinch of salt - but it's not a great look unless everything is on our terms. Liverpool need to bid big if they are serious otherwise I would be questioning this supposed friendship between Howe and Hughes.

What happened to the ability to embed videos in posts? Was struggling with this yesterday as well.

He can crack them from long distance and can finish. Still a bit rough round the edges but if Eddie wants him, that'll do for me.

Liverpool were fucked as well but the govt bailed them out from the Gillett-Hicks debt trap.

I'm encouraged by a Graham Bailey interview on the Loaded podcast last night where he said Amorin wants a proven striker so will go for Watkins over Sesko. That makes sense tbh, he can't afford another Hojlund on the books. From my POV, I would far rather take my chances on a 22 year old prospect than a 30 year old Watkins who is going to cost £40-60m, depending on who you believe.

Mitchell was his appointment and he knew all about him as they had worked together previously. I don't even have an axe to grind with Mitchell, or Eales for that matter. I can understand the direction they were trying to go after the PSR debacle led to us having to sell two young players to balance the books. But at the end of the day we ended up stuck between two stools. Howe's vision which was backed by Staveley, and Eales "Mind the Budget" vision which has led to three transfer windows in limbo. If we were going to back Howe, then Eales should have got someone in to do his/Mitchell's job. Instead we have Mitchell jumping ship right at the start of the transfer window. It's been terribly managed, and Eales was still on the job as far as I know, regardless of whether he was fit to do it.

Cunha looks like the bargain of the century by this months standards.

It's a great movie for sports fans in general.

Think that last line is a fair point.

Look at Man U's transfer record recently. If you were Sir Jim Ratshit you could hardly blame him for sacking off their recruitment team and just telling who's left to go after our targets.

And it is Man U. I know we hate to face up to reality but globally they do still have more pull if everything else is equal.
