Unfortunately only he would have been sharp enough to even get a volley off in a split second. That's the dilemma. Not much of a dilemma given his inability to hit the target. It'll be good to get rid of him. Yeah we need a striker who plays at the same pace as the rest of the team, slow and lumbering.

Pity they didn't play like they cared. They were a fucking disgrace to the shirt for the most part, the only time they showed up was at the end when Shearer probably forced them to acknowledge the fans. Spineless cunts the lot of them.
-
I doubt he gives enough of a fuck about us to accept a lower wage though.
-
I thought they did quite well after the final whistle to be honest. It was the first time I realised many of them had been on the pitch.

I think it's sad that the whole concept that the fans wouldn't be behind the team from day one by default, is even considered a credible one. Is everyone going to stop supporting NUFC if Alan Shearer isn't our manager at the beginning of next season? I know they're not, but there is definitely a kind of xenophobia at our club which hinders our progress because anyone deigned not to have a "true" bond to the club is always treated as an outsider and therefore doesn't get the same treatment as those who are considered to have. Or maybe its because we have been let down by pretty much every manager who has came into the job without ties to Newcastle. We've been let down by pretty much every manager who's come into the job, full-stop. The only difference is that you're willing to ignore it if they happen to have some ties to the club. Keegan let us down too, remember. Twice. Roeder had ties to the club and all. How does that fit in with your view? I wouldn't exactly say Keegan let us down during his first stint as manager like. But if that's your take on it. He didn't whilst he was our manager, but how was walking out on us like that not letting us down? I know it's pretty much considered sacrilegious to say this, but he definitely let us down the second time. Maybe he did but he was hardly proved wrong was he? Wasn't proved right either though. Anyway, none of this is really relevant to anything now, that's the past and we need to get beyond it and start looking to the future. I think he was proved right. Can you compare the football we played under a happy Keegan to the dross we've witnessed since?

This is the same cunt who was insisting Joe Kinnear was the man to save Newcastle from a hospital bed? Fuck off and die you clueless twat.

I think Jonas is in that camp as well. Wasn't half the player from a few months back. Not that we looked any better with Lovenkrands on the wing. That was a major gaffe today.
-
He's not slow though, right at the start of the game he went head to head with Agbonlewhore and matched him stride for stride and he's no slouch.
-
What makes it hurt even more is that we did his job for him. Hull didn't earn their top flight status, we earned relegation.
-

Hate to say it but I think Beye will be gone. premier clubs will be like flies round shit for our better players, it's the wasters we'll have trouble shifting.
-
Will make him even more keen tbh. One because he will be hurting from it just like we are, and two because the opportunity to come here, invest and make us a good side again is too good to refuse. Well the price will be more attractive now so if he's serious the opportunity is there.
-
Shepherd has been making noises about buying us, whether that will actually materialise I have my doubts.
-
Same here. Ranger, Tozer and Baheng also.
-
At least we won't have to loan him out to a Championship club to get experience now.
-
What are you on about for fuck sake It's like saying it was Shearer's job to transorm a bunch of dead donkeys into race horses. Jose Mourinho would not have kept us up in the time he had. Not with this squad. It wasn't even about time, surely we've seen enough all season to realise just how bad they are? We've even got a Watford supporter starting threads about over-paid, over-hyped wankers.
-
I'm still pondering whether to watch it or not. I really don't want to have to look at these players for another second.
-
We'll be back. The Prem needed a rest from our farce of a club anyway, hopefully when we return it will be with players we can be proud of.

I don't really know to be honest, I'm no real aficionado of the available, or potentially available, management talent, but the club need to be doing whatever it takes to find someone and provide them with what they need to do the job. There's got to be someone out there with a decent record of success who'd be willing to take us on. Coppell is a good manager and a nice bloke, but I'd worry about the pressure getting to him if he came here. Steve Coppell is one of the most grounded and logical managers in the game, plus he has a good Championship record, I'd be reasonably happy to see him here if Shearer refuses. Coppell couldn't cope with being manager of Man City, he'd crumble like a flake at Newcastle.
-
The prem's loss is the Championship's gain. The Premier's over-rated anyway, shit teams like Bolton and Hull with ugly managers.
-
I think he will providing he gets some money, he won't want to leave as a manager who took us down. Great interview as always.
-
But can you not see where he was coming from? Newcastle had a recent history full of record-breaking transfer fees wasted on sub-standard players. The spending worked at the beginning of the Shepherd era, but by the end it had us well and truly in the shit. I know Ashley cut spending too much, there's no arguing about that. Some people seem to think I love Ashley, all I'm saying is that I can understand some of his motives - and they aren't as evil as is suggested. He could have invested, instead he gambled and lost. There really aren't any excuses needed for him.
