Shola might be tall but the fact that Michael Owen scores more goals with his head says everything.

In fairness, Mourinho often had world class internationals on the bench who could contribute heavily. We on the other hand often have kids who have barely seen any first team action on the bench. Bit unfair to compare, however I agree that we should make substitutions a bit earlier. Granted Mourinho had more resources, but Kinnear's looked pretty inept regardless when it comes to using substitutes. Take the Stoke game for example, where we went 2-0 up but an injury to Guthrie left us totally shagged because Kinnear hadn't thought to put a midfielder on the bench. Even a young midfielder would be better than putting defenders on the wing and fucking up two areas of the pitch with one move.

I made that same point yesterday, what kind of owner will we end up with who can only afford to buy us in a crisis sale?
-
A win would be massive, it would give us something to keep our heads above the water through the next 4 or 5 very difficult fixtures, after that we should have our strikers up and running as well.

I am still quite happy to buy from Sports Direct. Why should I buy from JJB or pasties from Greggs? Have they put anything into my club?

The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]
TRon replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
Spurs might not have wanted N'Zogbia, but they were definitely willing to let Bent go for most of the transfer window. I think if we'd made a concerted effort to get him instead of wasting time on daft bids for Richardson we might have had some joy. As it is, Bent scored a couple of goals last week and that probably added a few million to the price. We handled the window pretty badly, there's not much getting away from that. -
He's made pledges like this before, Keegan was getting more and more pissed off that he couldn't reach the owner during his time as manager. I hope he follows through this time.

Totally agree Can't disagree with that, except to point out that maybe the reason NUSC has links with the press is because they are so anti-Ashley. The press wouldn't have wanted to know about them if they had been more reasonable from the start. That actually went through my mind yesterday when I was listening to Simon Bird on the broadcast. I was thinking what's his angle and the answer is probably to shit stir. It 's the nature of the beast with journalists, they need stories and discontent usually makes good copy.
-
I think he gives 100%, the problem is he's complete shit.

I am in agreement with the NUSC about one thing and that is that there seems to be a fair amount of incompetence in running the club no matter how much money has or has not been sunk in. Failure to complete on signings, failure to communicate, failure to appoint a calibre manager being obvious causes for complaints. NUSC seems to have built good channels with the press and I would suggest instead of focusing on "Ashley out" they use their links to keep bringing these issues up.

Is that the best idea that came out of the meeting? The profit will be going to Sir Bobby's charity, don't knock it. What has that got to do with the merits of the idea?

The fact that he didn't do due dilligence is something he's had to pay for, not us. He's done that while keeping the club paying bills when due, in other words, he's ensured that the club is solvent. He paying bills earlier and if he wants to make the club solvent he should transfer his loan into shares like I have. Why all the Ashley apologists? And who is going to buy the shares? If it was that easy the club would have been sold between September and now I suggest you just be quiet now son, you havent got a fuckin clue what you're talking about. Good point. Colo is clueless when it comes to financial matters. Aye, he's only the number 1 accountant at accountants are us in the accountancy capital of the world. You wouldn't know it like He's number 2 tbf Number 4 actually Number 3 is that Zero chap who posts on here. 2 is Gemmil (semi retired) Number one is obviusly Bob Murray Gemmill is an accountant? Fucking hell...it's true what they say then. Never let your emotions interfere with logic.

That's a bit like saying pity the people who paid for three years season tickets didn't read the fine print. I'm getting tired of hearing this line of reasoning. Why, did the fine print on the tickets say all this shite might happen? Did it say it wouldn't?

Thats not my issue, my issue is him lying to us, then treating us with contempt. It makes me very suspicious of his real reasons for buying the club and the asset stripping, lack of investment, zero communication and fuck all ambition lead me to the conclusion they're not good reasons. For that reason Im out until he is. I agreed with you on that part but for some reason you cut most of my post out. I've put it back in if you missed it.

Get a bunch of local businessman to threaten to buy him out and show him how it should be done.

I only heard the first half of the stream because I had to leave so I don't know where this ended up. A lot of unhappy people which is understandable but the bottom line is it's still about money. Ashley isn't investing as much as we'd like, but he's investing more than anyone else is prepared to. That really is the bottom line. Maybe some people would prefer us to get relegated so someone else could buy the club - but if they can only afford to buy the club on the cheap, what does that tell you about their financial status? I appreciate the chance to listen in on this meeting though, the VAT angle was interesting though I got cut off before it was discussed further. Other than that itt was pretty much what you would hear on local phone-in shows. A lot of grievances without any real answers. The lack of communication and sometimes outright deception by the club is something which has pissed me off for a while now. Did anyone bring that up?
-
I like the cut of your jib. After reading the first installment he's only got himself to blame if you ask me.
-
I don't think the players have lacked effort, I just think they need better direction. Kinnear's use of substitutions is a case in point. Mourinho would make three substitutions in the first half if he wasn't seeing results, Kinnear waits until the game's gone down the pan before introducing anyone. Considering he's such a complete bullshitter I'm surprised to see them putting in the effort that they do tbh.
-
Zog was slating him in the press which was to be expected, the fact that Given didn't want to hang around is a far more telling story. I also noticed Coloccini referring to how surprised he was at how things had nose-dived since Keegan left. Kinnear was a stop-gap choice and he was a good choice at the time. If we get through this season though, there has to be a change otherwise the damage done could be devastating.

The Toon Ultras succeeded because theirs was a positive constructive movement which everyone could connect with. The NUSC still comes across as an anit-Ashley lobby group. Maybe this is unfair, but I still haven't heard of any ideas that they bring which can fix the mess the club is in. The club needs finance and heavy investment, is that something NUSC can help with or plans to be able to address in the future? I'll be interested to see if any answers to these questions will be provided at the meeting. Why not go along and ask them yourself? It has crossed my mind, but I don't think I'll be there. I don't see what a fans club can do to change this situation for the reasons I've already mentioned.
-
I have this awful feeling we'll throw away a great position by dropping back after taking the lead like we have so many times this season. Another agonising draw, another great opportunity wasted.

No wonder Duff can't run, Joe should go easy 48 hrs before a game.
