Even he's not that delusional.

It's never excited me, but I have a feeling it's one of those where it will look better every game next season. A bit like Pope really. It will be interesting to see how much impact his ability to play the ball out will have on our game. It might be something we don't appreciate until we see it in action.
-
Think it will be same as usual, buying long term targets regardless of the position. Trafford has been on the radar for a year, if we can get the deal done, we'll just do it rather than buy someone we aren't convinced on.
-
Not that surprising really, keeper is probably one of the easier positions to fill. But he's a long term target so not to be sniffed at.
-
Not sure I agree with that mind. The ball bounces off him quite easily, especially if he's under pressure. Don't think his first touch is all that.
-
Put a school skirt on it and would like like the infamous DLC pic tbf.
-
I don't think it's as simple as that. You are always going to miss chances in every game, there's no team that is guaranteed to take every one. It's more that when you are struggling to make chances, those are the games - like Everton - where you just know they will go up the other end and score.
-
This is what we need, more no nonsense posters like @Mahoneys Tache willing to stick their neck out.
-
Don't even think he goes past players much as a wide player, he's not particularly quick. Maybe he would work as a #10 but I think Howe would prefer someone like Pedro who could also double up as a striker.
-
Tbf we've got a pretty good record of spending big on PL talent even if it seems we are overpaying at the time. Gordon, Tino and Hall would all go for more than we paid. My main concern would be your second point of us not getting the deals done, then not having secured back up options like happened last summer with Guehi.
-
Can't stand the bloke personally but I try to look at the bigger picture and see what he would bring to the table. But yes that is my gut reaction as well.
-
Levy is too tight otherwise Spurs could have got on the cartel gravy train. He's a slightly higher tier version of Mike Ashley sadly for you. I think Sir Jim Ratshit is the Man U version FWIW.
-
It's not his age, just don't see how he would fit a Howe system which is high energy and fast movement. I think we can carry one player like Bruno who is not the quickest, don't think we could add Grealish to the mix. That's without even getting into the motivation or professionalism angle.
-
I remember when we bought him it was said he could play at CB as well. Not seen him actually do that for us, but it does show his value as a defender.
-
Good article or bad article, still no getting away from Holt being an obnoxious mouthpiece for the cartel clubs. He'd love to be padel spanked by Thomas Frank, that's the overriding impression you get from reading that piece.
-
I just think this whole idea that he's a better LB than RB is overblown on the basis of him doing well at LB. That doesn't mean he's not a great RB, it just means he might have not had a great spell for a few games early in the season when quite a few players were off their game.
-
The only way we get more technical ability is if we shop abroad and are prepared to take a bit more of a risk their talent will translate to the PL. For the £40-50m (at least) we'd pay for Elanga, we could get the finished article abroad. I think the English PL tax alone must add about 20% to any fees. But I can understand why as a manager Eddie doesn't want to take chances.
-
I think he'll do well there eventually, but like every other Spurs manager will have to contend with Levy's knife hovering at his back.
-
Aye well that's because he's a RB.
-
Do people on here think he's actually still in charge of negotiating transfers and contracts? Would there not be a chance of conflict of interests given he must have some other job in mind if he's leaving at the end of the month.
-
Agree. People are quick to rebrand him as a LB because he performed well there, but given a run at RB he would be even better in that position.
-
Where would he fit in a Howe formation? He's got plenty of quality, but lacks in so many other metrics. As a #10 is the only position I could see him working.
-
Wrong. The Premier league world supremacy revolves around money, the only way you can compete is by having more of it, and being allowed to spend it.
-
It's difficult to believe any move happens while a cartel club is also in the reckoning. They can always outbid us as happened with Mbuemo. But we can only keep working on these deals and hope the cards fall our way.
-
I think that is the club's position as well tbf, Romano seems to be saying the same thing. City want to buy him but we are pricing him out of a move.
