  1. We really have turned into a bunch of softies.
  2. Some great deliveries from Gordon so far.
  3. Dwight Gayle would have scored that. For shame Callum.
  4. Surprised Wilson didn't get that on target
  5. Why would they be anything but delighted considering they themselves have said we are a year ahead of where we expected to be at this point? I think this is just some fans self inflicting mental damage based on their own imagination. There might come a time when patience would run out, but as of now we are still on the upward cycle. If the board had been able to spend on the squad like they want to, then we were on course to have an even better season than last year's.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Same here. Neither Isak or Wilson have a great track record fitness-wise as Newcastle players at any rate. An up and coming Ekiteke type of forward who can play wide or up front would seem the obvious solution.
  7. Disagree. I don't see any need for a Euro Super League, we already have one called the Champions League. But if it's inevitable then we need to be part of it.
  8. Eh? What rumours? I am aware that Ashworth is supposedly being tapped up, heard nothing about Howe's position though. Is this just forum self-generated bullshit?
  9. No way is he drinking beer before 5pm. He'll be there for an espresso.
  10. We could probably defend 1-0 leads if we had player we could bring on to keep the team going for 90+ mins.
  11. Any time he comes on the pitch you are going to be worried. His lack of pace means he offers nothing going forward, and as a result the opposition can pile more men forward knowing he can't get in behind them on the counter. It's not his fault he's still here but on the pitch there's always the fear it will cost you against any half decent premier team.
  12. As long as there is any doubt about his future, you would think his role would be restricted somewhat. If club insiders really think he might leave, then they wouldn't want his inside knowledge or our plans being leaked to future employers. From that perspective you can understand why Brighton put him on gardening leave once he had indicated he was coming here.

    Kieran Trippier

Could that not just be down to knowing he's costing us vital points or a cup win down to errors in the last 2-3 games? It's bound to affect your confidence stepping up to take a pen.
  14. Miggy's not really one of those players you would ever really credit with nous. He plays at 100mph, which is fantastic in many aspects, his pace is an asset, especially defensively. You won't see him playing many defence splitting passes though, and even fewer killer crosses. He's a workhorse mainly, been great for us to this stage, but won't take us to the next level.

    Anthony Gordon

If it was an impact injury rather than a muscle, then that might be how he was able to stay on the pitch. Will probably need some rest for recovery but I doubt he'll be out that long.

    Kieran Trippier

Those aren't necessarily bad decisions, just poorly executed. The best teams try to play out from the back, looks to me that's what he's been trying to do, just not physically or mentally sharp enough to do it effectively. I doubt it's got anything to do with age or any deteriation is skill tbh.
  17. Still find this slightly surprising tbh. I get that Man U are considered the bigger club, but they've been there and done that. He's at a huge club right now and if anything you would think there's even more glory in taking a success starved club to the top where winning something is like a fairy tale rather than "oh yeah, well of course we should be winning the title...."
  18. Can't happen soon enough. FFP would have been a good initiative if it did actually represent fair play, in it's current form it's just protection for the cartel who have taken advantage of previous lack of such restriction.
  19. One thing which is very gratifying is the knowledge that under this regime we will be targeting the very best coaches, administrators and directors in every field. Compare that to when we had Ashley and Charnley directing things, and even Shepherd before that, even he was more interested in handing out jobs for the boys. Ashworth would be a loss, and a surprising one tbh, but we'll get the next Ashworth I'm sure - assuming he does decide to leave.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Well that's a starting price, I'd imagine they'd tell us to do one, then we'd offer more until we came to an agreement - assuming they are willing to sell.
  21. If that's where he wants to be, then we'll just have to find someone else in a similar vein. We should be due some decent compensation anyway.

    sunderland

You've got to be some special kind of turncoat to be stood in front of that with an NUFC tattoo on your belly. No wonder the mackem is smirking, he's won on two fronts.
  23. Wilson missed out on the goals again over the weekend, he'll be itching to get on the scoresheet.
