  1. Just to clarify, I've had some fairly negative responses to my criticism of Rodgers down the years from our fans not Liverpool, Swindon or Leicester fans.
  2. How is slagging off Brendan Rodgers slagging off my club?
  3. Was it a lack of form? I just assumed he probably didn't get many opportunities as Chelsea will usually have a mass of world class superstars ahead of younger prospects in their first team.
  4. Yeah, but when some of our own fans have pointed out the same failings of the egomaniac Brenda Rodgers they get some pretty spiky responses.
  5. Think that's quite realistic tbh, Chelsea are looking to spend zillions again, and even though FFP doesn't apply to them, they still need to shift players to make room in their squad for their incoming superstars.
  6. I know people are probably sick of hearing about Paqueta since we have never had a serious link with him, but I always thought that was because we weren't really in the market for an AM. But we know his club will sell if the price is right, so if we are talking about £60m, would that not be worth asking the question? There are rumours that if City sell Bernardo Silva they will move for Paqueta, but what's to stop us chucking in a bid and seeing if he'll bite?
  7. It's because he's a massive prick regardless of his football acumen.
  8. Any foreign player could be a flop tbf, Bruno could have been, so could Haaland until he actually does something here. Diaby is a French international, and he's scored some quality goals. You have to back your judgement at the end of the day, and he does look quality. Maddison is already proven, that's what you're paying for, but Diaby does look like he might have a higher ceiling. He's only 22 as well so his value could go up, Maddison's is probably peak right now.
  9. I think Maddison is a cracking player personally. Not many who can strike the ball so well with either foot. Yes it's a lot of money, but you could just as easily waste the same amount on two hopefuls who turn out to be shite.
  10. They've put a valuation of £60m on him which means they are ready to sell basically. Just a matter of whether we can get close enough for them to accept it. Which I'm sure we will since the deal is definitely there to be done.
  11. We were laughing at Forest fans in the match preview thread. I hope they aren't reading this ffs.
  12. Quite significant that he singles out Howe encouraging him, Miggy has all the tools to be a top player, he just needs to convert into goals and assists. I could see him getting a few goals this season, although if Maddison arrives he probably won't be starting games. He's looked fabulous in pre-season so fair play.
  13. I would still prefer Maddison, one thing I love about him is he seems very two footed, that's worth a lot in itself. But would be funny if we started looking at the player they are hoping to bring in as a replacement.
  14. They do know how to source good players early, Leicester. Might be worth sniffing around just to get them a bit more agreeable on selling Maddison.
  15. What's this lad like who they are thinking of bringing as a replacement for Maddison? Houssem Aouar? Is he worth looking at?
  16. We might have come to an agreement with Burnley on that, pretty sure we're trying to do the same thing with Cornet.
  17. Leicester operate on tight financials, if Maddison had 4 years left on his contract they'd probably tell us to piss off. But when a player is down to 2 years, then £50m is a pretty tempting sum. They can use that to buy two players of the standard they usually sign.
  18. Isn't it because you have to pay the full whack in one go to activate the release clause? Might be a problem for teams trying to budget for FFP.
  19. How else would you look like tough negotiators?
  20. Also think it's worth giving him a chance to see if some direction from Howe can make the difference. Probably a long shot, but he does have the tools in his locker to get double figures if he's encouraged to get in goalscoring positions more regularly.
  21. A big club is a big club at the end of the day. Leicester aren't one, they are a very respectable and well ran club. If this was Ashley's Newcastle I could understand the downplaying, but there's already people asking if we can challenge for the title this season, ludicrous though that is. Just look at what we're doing under PIF, how would a player not be excited at the prospect of joining?
  22. St James Park with 55k fans taking the roof off. There's only a select few clubs in England that can produce that atmosphere.
  23. Love it. They can see us coming in their rearview mirrors.
  24. It would be worth leaving Leicester just to get away from Rodgers tbh.
