I was really hoping we could land him, and I must admit I want him to do badly now he's signed for Liverpool, one of the most horrible clubs in the Premier.

I feel the same tbh, but it must build tremendous loyalty in the squad if players know they can earn the shirts through consistent performance.

Tbf, Burn and Schar did very well defensivley last season, they probably deserve to hold their spots until one of them gives a reason to be dropped.

I think we might do ok in the cups, which means getting through a couple of rounds, last 16 sort of thing. Again, to do any better we will need more strike options. Unless Wilson stays fit all season, then we could quite easily finish 7th and win a cup.

This current squad will do well to finish 10th, that's what I'm saying. To get 8th or higher we need at least one more forward. If Wilson gets injured we will struggle to score goals.

They've got a £1.5bn freefall of Russian money to play with, that gives you quite a lot of leeway.

10th with the current squad would be pretty decent tbh, but with a couple of attacking players we should be aiming for 7th.

Mitro was a bit unlucky with us in he came here as a 21 year old under an absolutely clueless manager, then we got Rafa who put poor strikers who followed his instructions above good ones who didn't.

Honestly I think that is all it was. There's still a month left of this transfer window, if we haven't brought in any forwards by then, I'll revise my opinion then. I still think we must have better options we are pursuing. Or at least better for us. I went against my own judgement and watched a Cornet video yesterday, and even if it wasn't for some injury concerns, I don't really think he's what we need.

There's loads of players they would LIKE to sell before Maddison or Fofana, but I'm not convinced there's buyers for them, and not at the prices which would make a difference.

There's still a month to go to get these players in, I think a few people are panicking too early. If we wanted lesser players I'm pretty sure we could have landed them by now, but Howe has specifically said we are only looking at a small pool of players who are of the right calibre so seems like we want to buy once but get the right players. I suppose it could be argued we should be paying the going rate if we want the best players, but we'll only know the answer to that when the window closes.

Neither do I. He has some lovely skills, but he does seem a bit of a showboater, and seems primarily left footed as well. He looks quite similar to St Max.

He's still starting for Germany isn't he? I would have thought in a world cup year he'd be wanting first team football rather than picking up huge wages playing a bit part at a club where he's considered a flop.
