Well that's a fair point as well.

I know we defended well today, but we still need CB's in. We were a bit flattered by Leeds not having a striker, it's one of the reasons I fancied us for a win before the game.
-
I'm glad you put that out there, otherwise I was wondering, like others, could we have saved £25m and just kept Carroll on? He's just as good in the air, and has better hold up play.
-
I know they play slightly different positions, but if we are going to spend stupid money on 29/30 yr old forwards, I think we should go for Zapata over Lingard. We'd have to pay a £10m loan fee to bring Lingard, and he'd probably bugger off in the summer. Might as well put that towards Zapata who looks like he's got a good football brain on him as well as finishing ability.

It's an odd one, I get the feeling he would provide more end product if he was actually getting into the final third a bit more, but it seems he's playing more as a defensive wide man than a forward, and that takes away all his cutting edge. He's just not an athlete so often gets overrun and as a result gets lost in the melee for the most part.

Looked a £40m defender today. Absolute class.
-
Always liked him, even when he was getting pelters. He's a lot better than he thinks he is, today was a glimpse of what a player he could be if he had the self belief of a Trippier. As it is, I would like him to stay here over the next few years even as we buy better players. He's one of those squad players who will always come in and do a solid job, and has the tools to adapt to when we move up the leagues.

Can hardly even be arsed to complain any more. It's one thing for refs to be bent, but how do you explain VAR looking out the window every time we have a penalty claim?
-
Yeah, I've been critical of him in previous games, but he was definitely trying to play his team mates in a bit quicker today, at least in the second half. What a player he could be if he could learn to do that more often. Just a point though, that penalty which wasn't given, ASM should have scored before that, he was through on goal but couldn't help himself and tried to turn back inside instead of just getting the shot off when he had a clear sight.
-
He was making clever runs in the first half as well, people just weren't seeing it because they were getting too outraged when he had a bad touch. He's not the best at ball retention, and he wasn't last season either, but nobody else drives forward like he does and he looks to hurt the opposition.
-
Much needed perspective.
-
He was hobbling in the second half but to his credit he kept running as best he could. Great second half.
-
Hopefully he's just unfit and might gain a yard once he's up to speed. I'm clutching like, but what the hell.

Makes last week's result seem not so bad now. I'd have took 4 pts from 6 before these last two games if offered.

"Eddie Howe's Black and White Army!" ringing loud in the away end when it was still 0-0 will have lifted him right up. Felt really proud of our support today.
-
The away fans put you to shame mate. They never stopped singing when you and your pals were waving the white flag.
-
Schar was MOTM for me like, really calm in the middle of the storm. After all the criticism it was good to see the CBs stand up today.
-
Aye there was some seriously rancid posters in that first half like. I've never used that ignore function but will need to consider it in future.
-
He looked worse than last week.
-
He looked fantastic, like a Rolls Royce full back compared to what we've been watching.
-
Aye fuck right off!
-
I'm drained now like. It wasn't a pretty performance by any means but we showed heart and that means everything. Jonjo punching the air and leaping off the ground at the final whistle was priceless.
-
Understandable like, he's 21, not been playing and was off the pace to start with, but he was always trying to do the right thing and that's why I'm glad Howe stuck with him.

Get inn and fuck off you cheating cunt ref!!!!
