I don't really expect us to do any major business unless we sell. Maybe if we can get a really highly rated youngster in we might do that. A couple of loan signings would seem the best bet, but I don't think Eddie's the type who goes for them usually. Ramsdale was more the exception to the rule IMO>

Unfortunately I think they will probably go for Glasner.
-
While it's true we've got an easier run this month, we also have to play a lot of the bigger teams away from home later on, so the end of the season will tell the real story regardless of how we do in the easier run.
-
The problem is we are allowed to spend on stuff which makes no difference on the pitch, but not on the squad which could launch us into the stratosphere. That itself is a contradiction.

I thought he talked a good game, but we always seemed to find it pretty easy to dominate games against them. We should have beaten them in December as well, we really tossed away 2 points in that one.
-
It feels like he is better suited to the high press, and he makes more mistakes when we are on the back foot. Might just be a case of taking time to adapt to different ways of playing.
-
I still see him as an asset...and that's the point. Whether we like it or not, in the short term we have to get used to the idea of trading players if we want to sign better ones. Along with Tonali, he's one of those who would fetch big money. If they aren't 100% committed and have one eye elsewhere, we have to trade them while their value is peak, which would probably be this summer.

The Series Added function is pretty hit and miss, you quite often go looking for it and it's not available. Sky streaming service is not really reliable, but I don't really have another option. Not like recording it to a hard drive which is bulletproof.

When we play the better teams and try to press them, they pass it around us. They release the ball quicker before anyone gets a chance to jump on them. Or at least how it looks to me.
-
I find that infuriating. It's football basics, but not many of our players are press resistant.
-
Who would we replace him with? Doesn't look like there's a single one of them who fancies himself to strike a decent free kick.

Agree mostly, although I am not really one to criticise Pep's tippy tappy football like many. If it means keeping the ball rather than booting it long and losing it, I'll take it. There is a balance though, and tbf, even Pep is looking to go more direct these days. But when you come up against a low block, and a team that knows how to defend the set pieces, you need some guile and football IQ to unlock it. Not just individually, but as a team. I think we might have to be patient and see what sort of moves we make in the transfer market in the summer before seeing any real evolution in how we play.
-
Still not sure if that is down to our formation, tactics, nerves... or the players just aren't good enough to play possession football.
-
3pm kick off on a Sunday? No expectations here, they are a good team with a good manager. A win would be great.
-
Saw his interview after the game yesterday and despite the confused football we seem to be playing, I was reminded just what a great leader he is. Just keep backing him PIF. Give him the resources the top clubs have, and if he fails, then we can judge him.
-
If we are honest then we didn't blow Burnley away either. It was a competition to the bottom of shit finishing. But we came out on top and I'll take it on the night.
-
Good take. He's one of those who seems to be struggling with the shifting formations this season.
-
He was poor today, but since Miley is the only like for like alternative, and he's playing RB, maybe we can give him some leeway given he finished well to rubber stamp the win.
-
That's fine if we are playing against really elite clubs. The issue has been not being able to make our quality count against mid-lower tier PL clubs. Even today the only difference was they won the battle for worst finishes.
-
There was a couple of little passages of play where we just passed the ball backwards and sideways when we came under too much pressure. That led to us breaking their lines eventually as they were out of position when we finally picked someone out in space. We don't always need to turn it into a ping pong match.
-
The second yellow was because someone lost the ball in a daft position leaving us wide open, then he had to make a professional foul to save the situation. He was our best midfielder on the night. Not sure what that says about our other two superstars, but there we go.
-
Feels sacriligeous to say this, but it's true.
-
You don't control a game when you are playing at 100mph. Not unless you have players who are fit enough to do that for 90mins.
-
Honestly thought that was a really raggedy performance, but the result is everything. We needed that after throwing away so many points in previous games.
