  1. Krafth with some of the worst movement I've ever seen there when it went back to Pope. Broke his arse trying to get behind the attacker and remove himself from a position for Pope to play a simple pass to him
  2. Fuck man, it must be so fucking hard to put all that work in and then that happens
  3. Oh it's clearly what you were saying Deuce, you cunt. I'll glass you.

It was @gbandit who called them a nothing club, IIRC? Despicable carry on, really. He can find you a traitor, no problem. But don't ask him to find you some humility.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I believe the bid was 8m? Selling him for that and signing a 40m player on the same wages as Almiron would essentially be a break even for the upcoming season. I suspect we could have brought in someone better than him for that kind of money. And yes, we'd have to pay another 8m every year for the next five seasons fit that signing in the above scenario, but we're going to have to buy someone next summer and do that anyway, with the fairly realistic chance we'll be stuck with Almiron and his even less attractive wages for a potential buyer when he's a year older. In essence, we've seemingly decided to roll with Almiron for another year rather than address the RW position.

Turning down that bid for Almiron from Charlotte looks mental. Chance to get something for him and get him off the wage bill. Hopefully he'll have a good year, otherwise it's not hard to imagine a scenario where we're just stuck with him next season too while we wait for his contract to run out in 2026.
  7. I mean it was your suggestion initially, dickhead

Friday night, isn't it? I'm out at a party, fucking dreading coming on here if we don't have a good week

    James Trafford

The way this summer has gone we'd probably end up signing someone if we tried to do a smokescreen.

Would be quite up for this, we've loads of keepers but other than Pope they're all shite.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Aye, point remains that we could have moved him on and chose not to. Maybe we're confident that someone will come along and offer more this week, if not I suspect any money we get for him next year will be less than whatever they offered and it's going to look like a poor decision not taking what we could get.

He'd agreed to go to Charlotte and we turned down the bid, I thought?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I'm all for not buying for the sake of it in positions we have decent options in. But rolling with Almiron and Murphy as the RW options for the season is insanity, like. Honestly, finding a player who is a significant upgrade on either of them shouldn't even be that expensive. And yeah, I get that we can play Gordon right and Barnes left but even if we do that going into the season with two PL quality wingers is just throwing away points. We saw today the value of having players who can change a game from the bench, if we need a spark throwing on Almiron or Murphy isn't going to achieve anything.
  14. Osimhen to Saudi picking up steam? Can't decide if that would be more or less depressing than him going to Chelsea.

Aye, Joelinton's role should be to do the donkey work and allow the more creative players to excel. He's essentially our ball winning midfielder, just he plays it in an atypical way as he's more advanced than Bruno when in most systems the ball winning midfielder is the one in front of the defense. Issue is that with the likes of Murphy and Longstaff in the team we don't have enough creative players. Also a CB playing LB... He was very poor today for sure, but I do think he can start and be a key cog for a very good team.

    Sean Longstaff

Barring significant injury issues, there's no good reason for us to see him start many games again. Tonali back. Also, we looked massively better with Joelinton at RCM and Willock LCM after the changes. And that was an off-form Joelinton. He's an absolute albatross around the neck of our attempts to play decent football. It's not just his inability to pick a pass, he has no ability to do anything progressive with the ball when under pressure in possession. It's either play a ball back which puts the defender or keeper under pressure or else attempt to get his body between the opponent and the ball and then fall down. He's not the only problem but man I'm sick of watching him.
  17. Trippier doing an awful job covering the near post for the goal btw.
  18. Decent point given how shite we were for most of that.
  19. Longstaff is shite man, put fucking Willock on the pitch.
  20. Neither Murphy or Almiron are good enough to be second choice RW for a club looking to challenge for a top four spot. Either of them starting is effectively carrying a passenger when in possession.
  21. Murphy and Longstaff trying to play it a bit in tight spaces is hard to watch.
  22. We don't have the technical ability to not play high intensity, pressing football. Watching us try to play the ball about is painful. Not sure what the plan is supposed to be, watching us. The lack of intensity is alarming.
