  1. His ability to play both sides is a major plus. Gives Ferguson the chance to push for left back spot as if he's good enough we can switch Santon to the right and drop Simpson. High hopes for the lad if this comes off, but it may take some time for him to rediscover anything even approaching his best form so we'll have to be patient with him.
  2. I do hope he reads the forum like. Gotta be at least one player who does, if they read this thread they'd have to be pissing themselves laughing at ho fucking hopeless we all agree that he is.
  3. We should make more kits with even more flattering for those without particularly broad shoulders then. And repeat the proccess a thousand times. Infinite Shoulders.
  4. Ferguson's size isn't that much of an issue for me, Evra is pretty small and he manages like. Ferguson will get stronger as well over the next few years, I'd imagine.
  5. Aye, he does look like a guy lacking self belief a bit to me, when he gets the ball with a bit of space in front of him he should be just looking to drive at the defense but he doesn't seem willing to do so. Don't see him as a Dyer at all, he strikes me as someone who even if he gets it together will always be a bit of a hit and miss winger type. But that's nothing to be too upset about in a winger, as long as he produces enough in the way of hits and keeps up the level of effort we saw yesterday then he can be a good player for us. The right wing spot is there for the taking for him too tbh, with Marveaux and Jonas being better fits on the left.
  6. Aye, not a bad shout in theory. My concern would be whether we're guaranteeing Bridge anything, if he's coming here prepared to try and win a spot on merit that'd be alright with me. Wouldn't want us making any guarantees to him, but I'd have him in to compete for a spot for the youngsters. If he kicks up any fuss, we'll set Pardew on his lass... http://i.imgur.com/bcxRe.png
  7. Definitely a kid that needs some love and stability.
  8. Hard to be unhappy with this if it comes off. Young player, clearly has a lot of ability, can play either side which is a massive help considering we have one legitimate full back in our squad, and not a great one at that. Ideally we'd bring in a left back as well and have the two new boys competing with Simpson for two spots, but if he's the only full back we bring in it could have been far worse. If they're serious about Ferguson playing left back this would also make sense. (not to say that's the reason they'll have gone for Santon of course, just that it'd be a happy coincidence )
  9. I assume you just mean the 'lie la lie' bit. Aye.
  10. Really we should just be singing his name over and over again to the tune of 'The Boxer' by Simon and Garfunkel.
  11. Santon and Pieters would be a nice pair to pick up, in theory. Gives us much better options/depth in the event of injuries with Pieters having the ability to play both LB and CB and Santon comfortable in either fullback position.
  12. Can Marveaux play on the right? Really hope so, Jonas on the right wouldn't be pretty at all.
  13. Having a player who's comfortable on either side would be very useful given our current fullback situation, seems this lad was very highly thought of not long ago too. Would be happy to see him brought in.
  14. Doing alright considering we've nothing up front. Hopefully we can fluke a jammy goal or someone scores a cracker.
  15. Best should really start. Ba looks off the pace and Shola doesn't give you much in terms of movement up front. If we start Sholba up front we're going to just end up hoofing it all day I would guess. At least Best up top alongside one of them gives us another option. Alternatively we could play Vuckic in the hole, but I doubt that'll happen so Best should get the nod to start.

    Nolan Roux

The goalscoring record isn't that much of a concern for me. Obviously it'd be nice if he scored a few more but he was playing for one of the weakest teams in the league and his game doesn't seem to just be based around goals. We need someone who'll work the channels and drop deep to get the ball, give our defense and midfield an option other than just fucking launching it. A player like that makes the whole team around him better, even if he doesn't score a huge amount of goals. Bellamy never managed double figures for us in Premiership season, for example, but he was our most important player most of his time here.
  17. You can see the Korean TV presenters are fucking sickened that they're going to have to watch Sunderland every week now.
  18. Mackems get a point. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/7830/8594display.jpg
  19. Been watching the Sunderland game a bit here. Gyan looks fucking woeful. Sessegnon looks a good player though, have to say.
