Complete copout not selecting VDV over Ben Arfa and Lennon over Marveaux due to lack of game time though, especially when he's picked Tiote ahead of Sandro and somehow managed to select Santon over Ekotto. Until they produce some quality performances like we hope they're capable of you have to give the nod to the Spurs players, just like you do with Tiote over Sandro for now.

Towelie's team will be the long term vision, I'd imagine. Doubt we see it against Spurs though. Think we'll see Obertan drop to the bench for one of Ben Arfa or Marveaux (most likely Marveaux) with Best keeping his spot up top. Real pity Ben Arfa couldn't play for the reserves yesterday as getting 90 minutes under his belt would have been a big boost. Hard to imagine he'll be quite ready to play a full 90 minutes against Spurs so if that's the case it'd probably make sense to keep him on the bench and hopefully unleash him against some tired legs for the last half hour or so.

Yes. We should always try to get better, results are going well but there's always room for improvement in any team and if the manager feels a certain player will do better than someone in his spot then he should replace him.

A big money striker would have started ahead of Ben Arfa in a 4-4-1-1, I would imagine. It'd have given us options to do other things though, such as play Ben Arfa on the wing and play the new guy up front alongside Ba. Best being in some sort of form has meant that's still something we can do, though Ba and Best as a duo still doesn't excite me at all. After that the next option is Shola, meaning we pretty much have to play Ben Arfa just off the lone striker because there aren't enough good options up front to do anything else.
