  1. I think people are more angry because of the fact he's gone to that team full of horrible, murdering, wall pushing cunts for fans. Can see why people are upset that this is transpiring. Don't see why Enrique should give much of a fuck that some of their fans are scumbags though tbh.
  2. at those having a go at him for leaving. I'd probably make the move given the same circumstances FFS.
  3. Suppose it's good that we've got it done this soon.
  4. Buying M'Bengue and Pieters. Will be over the fucking moon if we get either. Pretty decent chance Jose goes on deadline day and we don't get a deal done for anyone and end up bringing in some retard on loan.

My thinking is that we're not going anywhere for a long time, mid table mediocrity is the very best we'll achieve with Ashley in charge. May as well get some laughs along the way.

He'll definitely be our manager one day.
  7. My Dad was friends with Liam Brady in school.
  8. I'd be sad to see him go, but if it means we can afford to finally have socks as part of our kit this year it might be the way to go.
  9. I'm impressed by the signing of Ba and Cabaye, keen to see what Marveux can do, hopeful that Abeid can develop into a good player and unsure on Obertan. No need for the above post in this thread. As opposed to the hundreds of absolutely essential posts that came before it? Being the latest one posted it was at the bottom of the thread as I read it. Sorry but I haven't got the time to comment on eaach individual post. Yours did strike me as being unneceassarily negative though I was responding to the post before mine. I sometimes do that, I'm zany that way. Then quoting is customary - especially when your post is on a new page and is depressing dirge OK then. One will see fit to observe proper forum etiquette henceforth, so as not to confuse the intellectually bereft members of the forum. Generally I'd argue the merits of my post with you but I have a party to go to and you seem about as interesting as a bag of hair so another time maybe.

  12. Why? Can we draw no positives? If Sunderland had signed the players we have I think there'd be envious eyes cast by our fans. Most people would laugh at them for picking up injury prone players on the cheap I reckon. Sure you can draw some positives and I hope that Marveaux, Ba and Obertan do great here, but it's been pretty much spelled out for us this summer that we're a selling club now and that's a disappointment in my book.
  13. People are just frustrated because of how the summer has gone, and I don't think you can blame them. The money should have been there, no reason why we couldn't have signed a player or two like N'Zogbia and really built a formidable team for ourselves. Yet instead we've gone for cheap deals on players with massive question marks over them. Cabaye is the only addition we've made that I'm in any way confident about and impressed by. Obertan as a squad signing certainly isn't a bad move, but moves like this one seem to be the height of our ambition, and that's very disappointing.
  14. Hopefully they'll have Lovenkrands out right and Vuckic just off the striker.
  15. That doesn't make a tremendous amount of sense.

  17. What a club man. I'm vastly more excited about the new NFL season that I am about the Premiership starting. And my team finished 31st out of 32 teams last year and haven't signed anyone good at all since then. Ash and Dekks have such a talent for this like, proper cunts of the highest order. Was always going to be a definitive window for Ashley's regime, and so far they've done even worse than I imagined was possible.
  18. Colo is club captain and if he has another quality season this year it should be an absolute no brainer to give him a contract extension without expecting him to take a wage cut. By all means have a wage cap in place for new signings and unproven players, but a player like Colo (or Enrique for that matter) is vastly more valuable than the majority of the others in the squad, and we should be willing to pay them as such. We won' though, obviously, because we're a shambles.
  19. Good stuff. Hopefully we'll be able to afford to have the tea lady carry some Earl Gray this year if this goes through.
  20. As things stand I reckon somewhere from 10th to 14th, as long as we don't get unlucky with injuries. We're very light though, few bad injuries to the wrong people and things could turn a bit sour. Couple more decent signings and decent luck with injuries though and we could finish top half.
  21. Our base D looks weak to me, but our nickel package should be strong with Steven Taylor providing the interior pass rush. Hopefully we can pick up a wideout or two off waivers as well.
  22. By that criteria all of our players would make good linebackers FFS. Just have to add another 50% or so to their size and they're flying.

I can see your point but he should also be playing for his next contract if he believes he's good enough. Sitting in our reserves for five years isn't going to do his career any favours, while if he goes somewhere else and starts banging goals in then his next contract could dwarf what he'll be making now.
