    Gervinho

Odds are we won't get him but I'm glad we're trying for players like Gervinho early in the window. Fingers crossed we can convince him.

    Kevin Nolan

To be fair, Owen and Viduka were massively influential in how our season ended up that year.

    Kevin Nolan

Pussy. I agree with you though, and am willing to put my mouth where my piss is should I be wrong. So... If Kevin Nolan scores 12 Premiership goals again next season, I WILL PISS IN A CUP AND DRINK IT.
  4. I reckon even one of those Jabulani's would do a better job tbh.

    Sol Campbell

Complete waste of wages. Hope someone breaks into his house and steals something of equivalent value to the money he has leached from us this year.
  6. All depends on what the deal being offered is really. I'd like to keep Barton, always gives 100% and can play out wide or in the middle. Probably the best crosser of a ball we have too. But on the other hand he's been anything but consistent since he signed for us, between his form and injury issues last year was the first good year he's had really. If he's after a 3 or 4 year deal with big money and we give it to him and he either starts playing shite again or starts missing time through injury will he really be worth it? He's also been pretty terrible when played centrally for the most part, you could argue that he should only play out wide from here on if last season is anything to go by. If I were certain the wages saved would all be put towards new signings then I'd probably be fine with seeing him go. Therein lies the problem.
  7. I can't even select the appropriate smiley for this. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/avs/avatar_2706.png

    Other clubs' transfers

Fuckin hell that'd be insane. Xavi, Iniesta, Aguero, Villa and Messi as your front 5.
  9. I can see why they'd want to get him sold sooner rather than later if he's going like, I'm sure they have replacements in mind and won't want to risk losing out on them because they're trying to squeeze every last penny out of the Gameiro deal.
  10. If we do sign him I'm insisting we call him 'The Game'. I know it's a lot of pressure to put on him, but I think he's up to it. He has a certain... pedigree about him.
  11. Think Shola would be a good signing for a team in the Championship tbh. The problem will be his wages. I believe he's entering the final year of his contract though, I'd be inclined to tell him we'll make up the difference for the first year of his contract if he signs for less wages at another club. Just get him off the books and free up a squad space for a real footballer. Same goes for Lovenkrands. As for Xisco, we're gonna have to just try and loan him out again next year and hope someone will cover some of his wages for another year. Can't see anyone buying him.
  12. How does Smith get even as much as 2 from people? Anyway, not really arsed making ratings for the whole squad. Colo, Enrique, Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Jonas and Carroll did really well this year, few others like Williamson, Harper, Simpson, Steven Taylor and Best have made solid contributions too. Hope we can get rid of as much of the deadwood (Ryan Taylor, Smith, Xisco, Lovenkrands, Guthrie, Shola) as possible this summer and bring in a few quality first teamers to replace them.
  13. We could do with a new right back, ideally, but it's not quite a priority for me. A striker is top of my list, followed by a pacey winger/striker type. I'd actually look to add a new center back to partner Colo before I'd target a RB. Neither Williamson or Taylor are good enough in that spot, and it's a more important position than full back IMO. Steven Taylor and Simpson fighting for the starting RB spot next year would be alright with me, still think that's Taylor's best position. Obviously if we're prepared to go out and bring in 5 or 6 quality new players then yeah, sign me up for a new RB, but more realistically we'll bring in 2 or 3 (3 or 4 actually if you include Enrique's replacement) and maybe a few young guys.
  14. If we do I'd hope we'll play Ben Arfa on the right, don't like the idea of him on the left at all. 4-3-3/4-5-1 would suit me just fine, it's massively important though that we add a quality center forward though no matter what we go with.
  15. Honestly could give a fuck, silly to lose a big lead like that but the game meant nothing. The important stuff starts now tbh.

    Alan Pardew

God I hope we don't just sign one player this summer. Hard to fault much he's done to this point, the summer is massive for him though obviously. Cook Pass Pardew for now though.
  17. Tbf it's not a good comparison on my part, if only for the fact that Spurs this season are light years ahead of where we were at the time we bought Duff. Still, the point is that when you have a very promising young talent who has burst into the first team and looks mint you don't immediately go and try and find someone else to come in and take his place, especially when your team as a whole is more or less rubbish. N'Zogbia was one of about three good first team players we had, and yet he was the only one we looked to bring in a replacement for that summer.
  18. What like Pienaar? Aye, same exact thing.
  19. Spurs must be kicking themselves for not bringing in someone more experienced to start on the left ahead of Bale this year.
  20. It wasn't hindsight, some of us knew he'd be a good player. Well, those of us without psychic powers are wrong sometimes. Anyone who couldn't see that he had it in him to be a quality player after his first year in the team for us is a bit thick tbh.
  21. The Balotelli thing is class btw, really hope he just burst into the room while class was going on and started screaming maniacally at the bully while slapping himself in the face and foaming at the mouth.
