Decky hates him as well IIRC.

This is where Paul Mitchell needs to be earning his money. We should have one more year of Burn, so this summer bring in a youngster on the cheap that will have a year to bed in and take over from Burn as backup in 2026. I was hoping we had that in Alex Murphy tbh but I've heard nowt about him all season in terms of what they make of his chances at the top level. This is in addition to a RCB who will be ready to start immediately as Botman's long term partner, of course.
-
I do think he'll ultimately settle down and become a very solid replacement for Burn as the versatile squad defender. That said, if there's decent money to be made off selling him now it'd be foolish not to take it IMO.

Started reading about this Spurs game and turned it on and they scored that literally within ten seconds Good goal tbf.

We have that though in Osula. DCL being added too means you also have a striker with plenty of PL experience, one you know won't be out of his depth starting a run of games should Isak get injured. Osula is still very raw, I'm not sure he'll be ready any time soon. I can't say DCL has ever particularly excited me but I reckon he'd be a very solid second choice CF who would also add something different to the team in having a target man who is a physical presence and is good in the air. Would be useful trying to break down teams who put men behind the ball and give us back that element we had two seasons ago where we'd put Wilson and Isak on together late in games.

We've saved the game and are at school but have decided to accept when we load it up again.

Aye, does feel like there's a real appetite for more of your posts TCD and people will resort to any measures to get them.

Another who has benefitted so much from the Tonali and Bruno switch up. Can't think of a time where simply switching two players within a team has had such an effect, it's been weeks and I'm still nerding out about it. The balance of the team is so good now and it allows Joelinton's strengths to shine through. We don't need him to be a particularly creative force in the final third, just let Tonali and Bruno dictate things while Joe goes around powerbombing people through tables.

I think we'll make a run at Dibling at the end of the window. Southampton are already double digit points off safety, I'm sure they still believe they can rally but their next three games are Man U and Forest away, followed by us at home. Let's say they get one point from those three games. 7 points through 23 games is dead in the water, surely? No massive reason to keep him and risk him getting an injury, just get some money in and start planning for their summer. As an addition he's pretty much ideal. Has played plenty of PL football already so he's not going to be completely out of his depth, yet he's still young and raw enough that it will be perfectly logical to expect him to be a backup to Murphy in the short term while the team is still in top form. Let him bed in slowly, meanwhile long term he's got the potential to be an absolute star. If the deal isn't there then we won't buy a RW for the sake of it IMO.

Fingers crossed. I suspect it's pretty close to the 100k mark. He'll have been bought with the expectation that he'll be a fairly important member of the squad, challenging to be first choice LB from the start and being a versatile squad member. Given that we didn't pay a transfer fee, it's not an outrageous outlay in terms of the overall deal for the role we were buying him for.

Pretty much everywhere you look tbh. Googled "Newcastle wages by player". Of the first five results. https://m.aiscore.com/salary/team-newcastle-united-fc-2j374oiy4nirqo6 https://www.spotrac.com/epl/newcastle-united-fc/cap/_/year/2024 https://www.capology.com/club/newcastle/salaries/ https://www.goal.com/en/lists/newcastle-united-wages-best-paid-player-magpies-salary-bill/blt31dfaa58f0b58df0#csd2350432da835ebd They all say 150k https://salarysport.com/football/premier-league/newcastle-united-f.c./ This one says 39k. It's not entirely unreasonable to believe we offered him a big salary as he was a free, but 150k seems incredibly steep. We do appear to have given Targett 100k a week though so who knows.
-
Could a Turkish club afford his supposedly sky high wages? Pretty much everywhere I look seems to suggest he's on 100k p/w. I'd imagine he'll settle into being a solid squad player for us but if we could get a decent fee for him I'd be happy to get the quick PSR boost, get a pretty hefty contract off our books and wish him well to be honest.
-
That's silly like, he's very clearly an extremely useful member of the squad.
-
As much as anything, we need him to show some form to try and get a decent bit of money back for him in the summer and invest in areas of the team that we have fewer options in.
-
Aye, penalty had pace and was low in the corner. Fantastic to get across for it. Actually cheered the save, such a scummy dive for the penalty.
-
Fucking finish that.

'Quee' as in the first syllable of 'Queen' 'veen' as in the third syllable of 'intravenous'. Quee-veen.

Complaining about people misinterpreting his deliberately vague comments that he was repeatedly asked and refused to clarify

My guess is that we're confident that Pope will be back for the Wolves game, with Vlachodimos trusted to play against Bromley. Getting a bit of money for Dubravka now and bringing forward a Trafford deal that was probably pencilled in for the summer makes a lot of sense. If the plan is to just flog him on and hope that Pope doesn't get injured again then that's a different story and one that I wouldn't expect to be the case.

I think people were pleased with the 2023 summer window at the time. It definitely aged poorly early on though. Tonali it looked like Milan might have absolutely done us selling us a player that they possibly knew was gonna be banned soon for huge money. Hall couldn't get on the pitch for a team with a horrendous injury crisis. Tino looked quality but played the same position as one of our key players. Barnes was having an injury hit first season. Natural enough that people were feeling nervous about the business at the time. Suffice to say, the worm has very much turned now. Three of them have turned into automatic starters, and Barnes has been productive when he's been able to get on the field with how well Gordon has done.
-
He's Dan Burn's replacement in the squad. Solid second choice LCB who is also comfortable playing LB. Issue is that Dan Burn is still here, and is still playing quality football. His wages are exorbitant for that role in the squad, the fact that he cost us nothing in terms of his transfer fee helps but if the rumoured 150k p/w is accurate then it's pretty steep for someone that doesn't really appear to have a clear path to significant playing time long term outside of injury to Botman. I guess eventually Burn will move on but I thought they rated Alex Murphy, who is another player with very much the same profile? It's also possible that they brought him in as someone that we thought could be the starter at LB but Hall has just gone and completely made the spot his own.
-
The time to buy Mbuemo was a year or two ago. This is the whole point of bringing in Mitchell and building around him. He's supposed to find these players before they cost huge money. Have to back him to do so.

I guess I just don't see an attempt to head the ball as careless and reckless then.
