Duff says Joe Kinnear should be permanent Newcastle manager
Shak replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Be madness letting Kinnear sell any players of significance in January, knowing he'll be gone within the next few months regardless. Still, Ashley has no reason to care, so I can see it now. We'll sell N'Zogbia for a couple of million and bring in a Butt/Duff-esque "veteran" in with the money, pretty much a cert to happen. Kinnear was a fine interim manager if he's only gonna be there 6 weeks or so. Come in, raise the spirits and keep things simple. But that won't go over for long. The feelgood factor wears off and players need some direction. Should have hired Alex's uncle Billy tbh, at least he's probably not a bit of a wanker, like JK seems to be. We'll be relegated if he stays until May IMO. -
Ideally I'd become a multi-billionaire somehow and buy the club myself. Appoint NE5 as manager (on the condition that he legally has his name changed to NE5), give him a massive wedge of money to spend, and let him run with it as he sees fit. Not particularly plausible, but it'd be awesome nonetheless.

Fuck off and shut the fuck up you useless bag of shite Duff. Suppose Kinnear is the only cunt useless enough to think Duff is worth a shite, so I guess this makes sense. -
Shearer-esque scoring feats.
-
Taylor hasn't been doing well like, he's been woeful as per usual. Cacapa was shite today, awful decision to start him ahead of Bassong, especially due to his lack of match practice. Give over. He'll never be a top or likely even a good defender, but to say he's been woeful the last few games is wank tbh. Having Coloccini has really helped him, similiar to how Titus often looked pretty decent alongside Woodgate.
-
Kinnear is extremely limited, anyone can see that. He's instilled a good spirit and brought some pride back to our performances. But that said, sooner we get taken over and get a real manager in the better.
-
There's real problems throughout the team, anyone can see that. That said, we were bossing it at 1-1 until Cacapa made Johnson look like Magnus Vermagnusson for the penalty. Think we would have gone on to win had it not happened, as Fulham looked lost.
-
Taylor has been doing pretty well alongside Colo, I see no reason not to keep them together once Taylor returns.

A truly pathetic player, contributes fucking nothing. Hope he gets injured soon tbh.

Fulham vs Newcastle United 9/11/08 Pre-match thread

Pity Taylor is out tbh, he and Colo were definitely starting to click. My worry is that we'll struggle in the air, neither Cacapa or Colo are particularly good in that regard. -
Poor Paul Robinson, life continues to find a way to make him look foolish.
-
The Kansas City Chiefs are pathetically run these days. The GM and Head Coach are both utterly hopeless, all sorts of nepotism going on within the club.
-
They've not played 4-4-2 for years tbh.
-
Too insecure to be a top manager in the long term IMO. Threatening to quit earlier in the year because he got a bit of stick from the fans, he takes criticism far too personally. The best managers can take it and get on with their job, Keane is too pre-occupied with his hard man/no nonsense reputation. Can't spend money either, which doesn't help.
-
The positive is that Ashley will know what getting relegated would do to the club's value, so if we've not found a buyer by January and are still close to the bottom then it's in his own interests to fund a signing or two. Nothing major though, obviously.
-
I hear he voted for McCain, the cunt.
-
What if Shola and Martins play really well as a partnership next game, maybe nick a goal each and win the game for us? How long do we leave Owen on the bench, even if he gets back to fully fit?
-
Agree, think he'd be a great signing for any of the 'Big 4!' for just that reason, assuming he'd be happy in that role.
-
Swap Shola for Viduka and that team has the potential to be very, very good, potentially the best starting XI we can field. Even though I realise it's basically what we had last season during the good run with KK with Colo and Gutierrez in for Faye/Geremi. Those are two very significant upgrades though, has to be said. Faye, for all the love he seems to get on here at times, is nowhere near the quality of Colo, and the movement and energy that Jonas would give the team over Geremi is massive. Barton would also likely be more effective on the right side than he was on the left, at least from a forward going position as he'd have the option of getting wide now and again and linking with Beye. Playing on the left he's not got as much option to do that as he's not a threat to put a good ball in whereas on the right he would be. Looks to have great balance and I'd love to see it under KK, pity we never will.
-
------------------ Given Beye -- Taylor -- :colo: -- Enrique ----- Barton -- Butt ---- ---------------- Owen --------- Shola ------- Martins Would love to see that so damn much, pity there's no chance of it at all. I think we should stick with Shola and Oba for now. Helps that we can ease Owen back into things, and no reason to mess with a winning formula.
-
Enrique 4 Milner 7 Quality stuff.
-
Tooj is shit scared of me though.
-
He's looked a good deal better than he did last year, but that's not saying much. Still has absolutely no end product whatsoever, can only assume that we've given up completely on N'Zogbia with Duff keeping his place every week.
-
I was under the same impression, but Brummie told me it's not the case and never has been. Still, not sure where a player like Milner fits in as part of a pacey, direct side like Villa.
