    Queudrue?

We could still be after another left back though, as Sam did say he wanted 2 LB's not so long ago. And Young would provide decent depth at RB tbh.
  2. I'd bet the main reason Duscher went home early was probably more to do with attitude than fitness, as they must have known his fitness would be questionable. Perhaps after meeting him they decided he was a bit of a wanka?

    Nicky Shorey

Dont be daft lad, he's ours after the U21's tournament finishes. http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/6295/orlywj3.jpg Duh, don't you visit the leading Newcastle websites? You'd surely know that by now if so.
  4. I'm still hoping the deal falls through somehow, one of my friends moved Tevez to Man U in Pro Evo and even made his stats better. I'd get such a great satisfaction from moving him back.

    Rod Fanni

Sounds like a decent pick-up, though I know not much about him if we're being honest. Still, more competition for the RB spot can only be a good thing. I love how his agent is named Six. And in my opinionation, the sun is gonna surely shine!
  6. I love that Sunderland have payed the same for Richardson as we have for Barton. Barton is a bit of a gamble, admittedly. But at least there's a chance of him working out well for us.
  7. The "New Brazil" reference was nothing to do with their style of football changing or anything, more a case of how I believe they'll become the new dominant international side with a playing style that everyone wants to emulate. It's not so much that either Brazil or Argentina have changed, it's football itself that has changed. The tempo is higher than ever before, as is the need for players to be tenacious and determined as well as skilled. Missed the Brazil v France game in last year's WC as I was at a gig while on holiday iirc, so can't coment on that unfortunately. I'd disagree with your assesment of the Germany v Argentina game, though. While it was, admittedly, quite nip-tuck until Argentina took the lead, I thought the Argies always looked to have more in the tank and were playing to take the enthusiasm out of the Germans before stepping it up a gear late on. The goal they got was lucky, admittedly, but I feel they would have gone ahead eventually. Once ahead they were all over them and I really didn't see any way back for the Germans barring a lucky goal, which is ultimately what happened. Some fair other points though, and I think a big issue will be who takes Crespo's place as the main striker/goalscroer. I see Mascherano and Cambiasso/Gago leaving them set in the CM roles for years to come, while Riquelme has at least 1 World Cup in him as chief playmaker. If they can find a goalscorer for Tevez and Messi to play off then they'll be sorted. Was Messi's debut the game where he scored the little lob after coming on as a sub? If so, I'd agree you could see that he was a bit special that day, as you say I'd expect he'll be the best player of his generation.

    Club Captain

Shade surprising but I can definitely see the logic. Seems he's been pin-pointed as the man we're building a defence around, can see him playing all the time when fit.

    David Beckham

Hard to see America producing any truly world class players anyway, as all the best athletes have a range of different "cooler" sports to choose from. Who do you think shags more women in high school? The quarterback of the football team or the captain of the soccer team?

You mean Gridiron opposed to Soccer, right? Think he does. LaDanian Tomlinson is probably the best "Gridiron" player right now, if anyone cares.
  11. Got to agree with Wullie, these players are a class above anything the majority of us have ever played against, I'm sure there are goals scored like this every day in training grounds nationwide.

    Armband up for Grabs

Boring innit. Adds character to the place, apparently.
  13. Good finish to be fair, though his stepovers were fuck all to be excited about tbh. Some of the comments below the video are brilliant. He's MUCH better than Torres apparently and is either this season's version of Berbatov or the new Cristiano Ronaldo, depending on who you believe.

If we're taking age into account, he wouldn't be drafted for a long, long time.

They could get Kaka to go to MLS, still wouldn't make a difference. "Soccer" is generally looked down upon in the US, just like American Football is looked down upon over here. It's not real football, the one that you're brought up with and is in your blood. Sure, some of the more open minded people will take interest in it, but it'll generally be the sport that they're attracted to in the first place rather than the players. Beckham will get a few more people going to games over there, but I'd wager it'll mostly be people who already know a bit about football and want to see Beckham live going rather than people deciding to give it a chance because some alledged superstar has arrived. It'd be like Peyton Manning coming over to finish his career in NFL Europe (not going to happen ). People over here who follow the NFL would go along to see him play live, but it's not like the people who've always thought American Football was shit are going to suddenly sit up and say "Hmmm, this guy is meant to be the business, think I'll go along and see him even though I think the sport is shit."
  16. 4-4-3? ssssshhhhhhh!! We'll never get away with it with whistle-blowers like you around.
  17. Jesus was a threat, Vic is more of an amusing irritation. He's safe from the Romans.
  18. Shade OTT We need a top quality CB and LB, maybe at RB if Sam isn't comfortable with Solano, Geremi and Carr there. The other LB only has to be decent cover, if we even sign one that is. Reckon Babayaro will end up being 2nd choice. Possibly a 4th choice CB, but even then I'm not expecting anything more than a solid, but quite limited, player. We need a really top class LB and CB though. Marquez and Riise/Heinze would do nicely.
  19. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=42575.msg912977#msg912977 So fuuuuuuck you! Mind if I don't get it, I'm gonna start charging you rent, sunshine. I'll expect to be allowed smoke in the house in that case.
  20. Was it the goal when the ball was on the corner of the box and he overhead kicked it into the opposite corner and the goalie just stood still? probably a different goal i saw. Nope. The striker just volleyed it as hard as he could as it dropped, out of sheer frustration and it happened to arrow into the top corner from about 30 yards. No skill - just sheer luck tbh. I think most long range goals are tbh, when people watch players like Lampard or whoever hit them from 25-30 yards and it flys in the top corner, it's more clever play than skill, it's almost impossible to hit the ball that accurate so they play the percentages as their body shape won't be perfect. You've never played the game then, right? That'd be my bet. Sure, I suppose you need a bit of luck and not every shot from range is going to go in, but to imply its more luck than skill is absolutely ridiculous.
  21. Pretty much sums it up. Reckon we could do with a DM as well, considering we'll probably be playing 3 in the middle a fair bit. Pretty much sums it up. We haven't signed Duscher yet and I've already said he'll do if we haven't got much to spend, so you can roll those eyes up your ass mate.
