  1. Would have been tempted to stick Maxi up top and burst them on the break.
  2. "Pass it! Pass it!! PASS IT!! FUCKING YES!!"
  3. In London for the weekend, went to the Charlton v Ipswich game for the laugh. Was probably the most mental ending to a game of any sport I've ever seen
  4. He's still 16 years old in a lot of those clips. Perhaps he hasn't quite reached his potential yet?
  5. I mean... we're getting close to the point where I could see us looking to buy a younger guy to back up Miggy
  6. For me the most amazing part of that was how utterly unlikely it looked that Spurs would score in the last twenty or so minutes. Always so used to any game where we're about to pull of an upset just being an absolute siege for the last half hour, just conceding the ball and hoping to ride it out. Now we keep playing our game, just with a bit more caution. Keep the ball, press them high, stop them from getting possession in dangerous areas. Great stuff to watch, such an incredible job Howe has done transforming this team. Remember Bruce a year in? Still complaining about how hard it was to undo the mentality of the team Benitez had built. The useless gimp
  7. Yeah we miss Joelinton in CM, think Willock would be well suited to playing out left too.
  8. Hard to believe Joe was once an effective front man, he just looked so uncomfortable there
  9. Man if Bruno stepped over that and Joe buried it I'd have been wanking for years.
  10. Came in to complain about Longstaff. Goal spoiled for me Not happened yet.

Think we've had several players have setbacks in their recoveries though. Fair enough to ask if there's something that needs to be looked at in terms of the training programs these players are being given as they try to get back to being ready to play after being injured.

Realize it's different for some of you locals but I'd like to see them back in the PL. Particularly if we're gonna be shit hot and mostly just beating the piss out of them. Some great memories watching the derbies in my days abroad. The Nolan hat trick game I watched with a bunch of Newcastle fans in Korea, was class. Best one was the 1-1 back in 2012, Shola scored a late equaliser. I was in Hoi An in Vietnam, thought the game was on TV in the hostel but it wasn't so I went out walking around hoping to find it and found some locals watching it in a tiny bar. Was one of them that was a Newcastle fan, remember it being a really aggro game and when the equaliser went in the two of us went fucking spare
  13. Think it would mean our second choice LW isn't Jacob Murphy or Ryan Fraser. Love the idea of having players you're excited to see come on as subs. Think with the high pressing style we really need to be able to rotate players to keep them fit and fresh, especially in the front three.
  14. Great to see him getting goals, such a likable lad who has worked hard and deserves this. He'll be an excellent squad player here for a number of years IMO. Will be out of the strongest 11 within a few months (arguably already is) but he's exactly what you want as a player to come in and do a job when a starter is out. Will work his bollocks off and is capable with the ball at his foot if somewhat lacking in end product. You'd be comfortable with him on either wing and can probably play in the midfield three as well. Pleased for him
  15. Dead proud of this on page 149. Was a response to the news that the Bein ban had been lifted. News broke the takeover was going through a few hours later
  16. Yeah, and I know a couple of years from now players of the level of the likes Murphy, Longstaff and Wood will be a distant memory and I'm incredibly impatient for that time to get here
  17. Completely lost interest in the league this year, I'm just not as big of a football supporter anymore and honestly don't have the heart to watch some of the absolute dross we have in our squad as we drift toward our absolutely inevitable mid-table finish. All in on the cups, mind.
  18. Willock surely? Joelinton should be in the team to be a ball winning midfielder who can impose himself on the midfield and free up his midfield partners and the wingers to create chances. Because the current wingers in the team and Willock offer very little in the final third, Joe's limitations as a creative player are highlighted but that shouldn't be what we're asking him to do. He's a ball winner and a damn good one at that. A midfield trio of Shelvey, Bruno and Maddison for example is pretty lightweight IMO.
  19. ...for playing with three at the back? Given how poor our wing options are it might be worth a look when ASM is out as we look utterly fucking hopeless without him. We have three CBs who have all looked good this year to the extent that Howe is rotating them. Even Lascelles looked much improved against Liverpool. Might be an idea to get an extra one on the pitch and change the shape of the team to accommodate it? Would lend itself to Isak and Wilson starting as a pairing up front and would be ideal for Trippier as it would give him license to play even more advanced than he already does. The obvious question mark is over Targett as a wing back. He's probably a bit limited both athletically and technically to be a good wing back but he's a really good crosser of the ball and wouldn't disgrace himself by any means IMO. I don't know, hopefully ASM is back for Fulham but if not I wonder if we might see Howe change it up a bit.
  20. I mean, I'm pretty sure Ginola would be a better option off the bench than the lads we had yesterday.
