I hope we lose now. That'll show us.

I can never love you JNK my heart belongs to Flip forever.

Aye, would have been such a nice addition. We've got Ryan Fraser starting games FFS. Would have pissed off some of the thicker members of our fanbase too, as a bonus.

@Yorkie is there something to be said for Willock in midfield and then Joelinton in Fraser's spot in the team you posted? I remember when Joe was signed seeing people say how his best spot was probably just off a striker rather than leading the line. I know he's found form in CM but might be worth trying him in a more advanced role. Could be interesting seeing him link up with Trippier, might allow Trippier to get forward a lot more with Joe there to cover for him?

I wonder if we'll see Joelinton possibly moved to a more advanced role? Left side of a front three perhaps? Bruno G Shelvey ASM Almiron Joelinton Wood Wouldn't mind seeing that as a front 6. (Don't really have a preference for who partners Bruno in CM, went for Shelvey by default) I'd want Almiron and ASM to be quite interchangeable there, basically Almiron on the right in defense and central in attack. Don't ask much of ASM defensively, let him float and be a threat on the counter. If Wood starts to play well I wonder if Howe has plans for him and Wilson to be on the field at the same time. Could actually see them being a decent pairing.

6 We've signed a couple of genuinely top players in Trippier and Bruno G and added three others who'll play a lot over the next few months. Feel like we desperately needed at least one more attacking midfielder or winger though, probably two. It's basically just ASM in the squad who I have any faith to produce a moment of quality. Gotta hope the additions at the back and in the middle will help us be more solid and control games a bit better.

Aye, the fact that we've got 4 points from 2 games isn't a coincidence like. Just having an actual striker on the pitch as some sort of focal point is really important and Wood has given us that, even if he's not doing anything spectacular it allows the likes of ASM to actually play in their correct position.

Yeah, I think there's definitely a line to be drawn in the sand here. Everyone knows we have a fucking load of money. If we cave easily it sets a bad precedent for the future. Hopefully we have multiple options in every spot we're looking to strengthen lined up going towards deadline day. There's no major rush before next Monday now IMO, we've somehow managed to produce 4 points from our two games in January which I think we all would have taken even had we made a bunch of deals on January 1st. We've basically managed to get away with not panic buying and throwing around silly money, now we just need to get quality players in over the next 6 days without getting fleeced. Should be easier to do deals as the deadline gets closer.

Be great if we can get this guy on loan, stay up and then sign someone better than him in the summer in an effort to push on.

Are there any equally good DMs not currently under investigation for assaulting women available? I'd go in that direction if so.

Glad to hear it mate. Just sat here watching a Jim Davidson DVD and reading your posts, great way to spend a Saturday!

Really admire you ozzrahog, don't let the woke snowflakes cancel you.

Excited to see what the squad looks like after the window. All the left backs we've been linked with seem to be very attack minded, surely the plan is to go with wing backs and 3 at the back?

Not watching. These last few posts seem promising.

The world needs heroes like you ozzrahog, never stop speaking the truth please no matter what.
-
I do feel like he wants to go for 3 at the back and wing backs, would get the best out of Trippier and we've been linked with left backs who are very attack minded.
-
He's out of his element.

You were the chosen one, Rich. It was said that you would delete superfluous threads, not start them. Bring order to the forum, not fill it with clutter.

Not exciting by any means but he'll hopefully be able to hit the ground running and give us someone who can lead the line until Wilson is back. Really important that we don't have to shove ASM or Joelinton up front where they'll be less effective. It's not the signing any of us were dreaming of but it's hard to overstate just how big a difference there'll be in the players we can attract this summer if we can stay up. If Wood can contribute towards that, he'll have been worth bringing in. Would be lovely if we could sign Ekitike or someone comparable, an exciting young player with pace who can largely be used from the bench to take advantage of tiring defenders until he grows into someone who's ready to start.
-
Sounds like exactly the kind of player we should be after so long as there's another experienced CF brought in also.
-
I don't think the last sentence there makes much sense.

Seems fucking bizarre how much noise there seemed to be on Thursday and Friday about signings being close... seems almost dead now.

He's pretty polished tbf.
