  1. Remember him at Cov. Shite. I had no idea who he was. Looks like he played nearly 600 games in his career. Thought I'd check further to see whether he'd played enough in the PL. His wiki consists of 1 paragraph. 600 games, 1 paragraph No stat verification unfortunately.
  2. Some shitty names here anyway. Very glad they've not made enough PL appearances tbh.
  3. What about dynamic left-winger Matty Taylor?
  4. Would Shola have made the list? If he didn't soil his career by playing for the lame-o EAGLES.
  5. Gavin McCann has an England cap  Fuck this. I'm out.
  6. Everyone I think of has had 1 or 2 sympathy caps. Thought Bowyer was nailed on but apparently Sven called him up and played him once. 1 game, 1 assist (goal by Alan Smith).
  7. "Quick decision" raised a chuckle from me like. This isn't a football club anymore lads, it's obvious in everything they do. Time to move on to something else. Find a hobby. I'm thinking of taking up crochet.
  8. Shame? He justified Gouffran starting over Ben Arfa with his 'expert' analysis. He can f*** right off the little scrot. Why the fuck would I be serious about that? You little scamp
  9. Fuck that. Massive part of the problem. Not that it's really his fault that fuckwits like Carver don't know what to do with the data provided, but anything that ends the previous regime's hold over NUFC is fine with me.
  10. Hull were the better team for half the game, it all went to shit pretty quickly.
  11. Kane is my captain too, but given I'm #TeamEngland, I don't really have any better options as it stands.

obv 1,2. Although I think 2 has been jipped with the photo lighting a little, and 1 is covered in slap.

    MLS

MLS rules man. They need to rip them up and start again. Regarding the Altidore transfer: "Toronto was ranked sixth in the allocation order, using their spot to land Altidore after the Montreal Impact, San Jose Earthquakes, Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo declined to use their allocation spots on the two-time World Cup veteran." The way that the MLS negotiates the transfer is obscene. The way that any American joining the league has to be "allocated" to a team, and the way that it's so blatantly fucking fixed anyway, it's just so backward.

Don't think Defoe needs endless chances created. I think he's suited in every way to a bottom half team, much like Dazza Bent before him.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dozy gets something similar. Bradley Wright-Phillips has 27 in 32, and Robbie Keane 19 in 29. Shite league, and has to be hard to get back up to PL level. He will score maybes 4 goals the rest of the season, keep them up then be shite next year. Yes, scoring in the MLS is no guarantee of success in any other league, but short of scoring 35 goals, there's not much else Defoe could have done to show that he's still doing what he's always done. He's been gone for a very minimal amount of time, nothing has changed.

Don't think that makes any difference at all, him not being given a chance doesn't exactly say he's not good enough anymore. When given the opportunity, he's scored goals at a decent rate, and hasn't looked like dropping off. He's just too one dimensional for a top-half team so ends up doing well somewhere and then failing into the fringes when a team is competing for greater things. He's Mike Ashley's ideal striker. 11 goals in 14 starts for Toronto in a period that Toronto were shit and that he wanted away & struggled with injuries. Seems reasonable to me. So far this season, Sunderland have 18 goals in the PL, 4 scored by Adam Johnson, 4 scored by Steven Fletcher. I'm pretty sure Jermain Defoe at 32 will be an improvement upon that. Not that I think he's all that much better than Fletcher, he's just not made of glass.

1 goal in the 14 games he played 13-14. He started 3 premier league games ffs I don't particularly like Jermain Defoe, he's obscenely one dimensional and only performs well in certain formations, but he's a perfectly serviceable striker for Sunderland, and a pretty massive improvement over Jozy Altidore. For this season at least.
