Love the theory of VAR. Cannot see a version of it that I think would be acceptable in the game. It actively detracts from the enjoyment of the game. Right decision or not. Which is often still debatable. Technology needs to come a long way for me not to hate it. The only thing I think they could feasibly do anytime soon is have offside be adjudged by a robot lino. Other than that, nee chance VAR can be implemented in a manner that isn't tiresome as fuck.

Disappointing lack of goading from the Brits.
-
Mackem bellend attitude is helpful in these pressure situations tbh.
-
That was equivalent to, or greater than, winning a world cup.
-
I support the notion of VAR but this implementation is miserable. Farewell celebration of goals.

Few people saying they’re being replaced with the LED boards SD ones? The ones that change the advertising during the game you Luddite

All this takeover shit is just a smokescreen to distract us from the fact we're losing Big Mo. Wake up lads.

Interesting thread etc etc etc... but

I just want 1 Hummel shirt with the arrows down the arms. It'd inevitably be a ridiculous shirt, but it'd be unique. Then I'll take Adidas/Nike once we're back in the CL.

Not really. Baku is a stunning & safe enough city to play host to the event - and also a nice change from the norm. The main problem with this final is that, thus far the two teams have served up the absolute antithesis of what a final should look like. There's a lot more fitting aspects in football to highlight the questionable ethics of the game in its current state than than this match imo. A nice change from the norm. Pyongyang would be a canny change from the norm too.

Hate listening to Pleat's voice, but sadly he's talking some sense re:Sarri.

Maybe Newcastle United

Plus if they ever did move the stadium it'll end up being built fucking miles away.

The player falling backwards when the ref clips him  I'm wondering what he's hoping for there? Ref to send himself off?

Don't believe there's any done deal news yet. But Pep clearly doesn't care for him. Even though he's class. Probably a freak and/or weirdo.

Obviously I hope you're right, but IMO, option 3 is far more likely. He stays, he's told we'll invest and challenge, we don't (or we do in fits & starts), he leaves after X months/years.
-
Aye right. He'll stay if he's told we'll do things properly. He's a mug like the rest of us. "Maybe this time it'll be different!!!!" He stays, Ashley stays, and in a good year we might make it to 10th place and the 4th round of the FA Cup. Woo. #TeamSpaceWullie If he stays and we have a summer window like the last one, I'd hope he'd have the integrity to tell them to get fucked. He's had loads of opportunities to tell them to get fucked already, but it appears his contract limited him from doing so without a significant financial hit. I guess it'll all depend on the new contract, whether he accepts the same kind of hit in a resignation situation. So yeah, assuming he signs up again, and doesn't fuck himself with the contract, we'll probably get another year of nothingness and he'll peace out next summer or something. More purgatory for us I guess. Then again, we all know you're a big fan of purgatory

Gives us the best chance of going bust and getting rid of Mike, so I'm game. Good idea.
