The goal he scored against Spurs is something we can't expect to happen no more...yesterday's poor long range effort summed it up pretty good! Last season it was always very exciting to see what happens when Oba got the ball but now...there's just no end product at all. It's the lack of confidence for sure but I think opponents have learned how to defend against Oba now! Name a player from our current squad(excluding recently acquired youngsters and maybe Bassong and Jonas) a club would pay more than we did at the time we bought them? I'm really really struggling at it...Krul maybe but he's not playing anyway

I can't argue that Butt does a decent job winning the ball back but why oh why he just can't play it on with a simple pass(like Coloccini did a lot yesterday) instead of holding it up way too long running out of options and then try some stupid and hopeless hollywood lob pass to Oba or Owen which never find its target? If anything yesterday really proved we lack every bit of creativity from the midfield! Our only supposedly creative player seem to be enternally injured and will be leaving at the end of his loan anyway what a waste of money he was. Pace is a thing which could easily cover the obvious lack of creativity but it's just another thing we don't have(except Oba)! Our defence did quite okay yesterday but Pompey defended so deep leaving Crouch only player to close us down over the half way line that it was unbelievable to watch really. Apart from the last 10 to 15 mins Pompey were not really able to put our defence under any kind of a pressure. Once we had the possession we went forward so slow that the opponent had no trouble at all to block us. I hardly see us ever trying to hit an opponent with fast counter attacks which is very very important in today's football. We just wait for them to regroup or overhit(a la Jose style) a simple through pass...so annoying And what the point leaving Jonas on the bench? The only player with some sort of creative instinct and what an engine he has. One of our best players in the previous match but Big Al yet again goes for Owen who just offers nothing at all anymore. That's for sure! When was the last time we had made all subs at 61minute? That's not an optimal situation of course considering possible injuries/sent offs but clearly we tried to change the course of the game which can't be said about his predecessors. Still hell of lot to learn(espcially how to instruct players as individuals) but already a few good things to be seen. No way I'm thinking Big Al will keep us up but if and when we go down he should defo stay...if it's Kinnear back in the summer I'll stop supporting this club right away! Jonas MOM although he seemed to fade away in the 2nd half but that's kinda understandable when he's doing all the hard work for the team by himself while our so called more experienced players are doing their best to give away the ball!

Every player on a contract with more than 35K a week should be gone or it will hit hard on our already poor financial situation

Maybe we should create a petition for R.Taylor, Nolan and Butt to be dropped from the team! Maybe that would caught the attention of the management team...or not

It's a tough call between him and Nolan. But then Nolan is just a s*** footballer so he might be having a good game by his standards. nolan takes it hands down tbh. He has been immense in a bad way Our CM is setting the lowest standard record game by game...I guess everything else has been tried to change except the midfield(name a match which didn't include any of Butt, Nolan or Geremi) so exactly where is the problem then? I guess our coaching staff don't bother looking the games afterwards and learn something

A fucking miracle we didn't get punished more from the stupid mistakes! How hard is it to put in a decent cross from a set-piece...it's like 95% of all set-pieces(corners especially) we hit the first defender and they're supposed to be training them on a daily basis Can't see it changing any way in the 2nd half either...we just don't have a solution for the central midfield. Maybe totally skipping it would be the best choice but long balls ain't no solution either. If anything Butt must be taken out but somehow I can't see it happening

Owen's one of our better players out there. No shock to see people posting blaming him though. And what has Owen done so far not to be blamed? Looks maybe even lazier than Shola

How long Jonas is going to last with that workrate??? Positive start despite a couple of mistakes in the defence but wasn't that expected... Nolan and Butt still giving the ball away way too much even under no pressure at all

If Jonas will be played behind the strikers it will be very interesting to see as I've been waiting for this to happen for a long time...he's style would suit very well for a #10 role

Owen is quality. Shola is not. Owen and Carroll is quality. Owen and Shola is not. Owen and Martins is not. There. I know you've got something against Oba but what has Owen done in let's say like last 15 games to convince you he should be starting? He's been pure shit. Top earner of the team and captain...maybe he should be performing just a bit better?
