Because Marton O'Neill is a cavalier manager who never sets his team out defensively... any chance that might have contributed. Didn't stop us beating them 3-1 against virtaully the same team last season.

About Allardyce's football driving fans away? Seriously, I'm racking my brains to think of a more boring game I've watched involving Newcastle. The midfield Allardyce has created was especially bad, defensively solid but showed naff all going forward. I seriously hope today was a one off and we don't keep playing this defensively, especially at home.

Wrong. SkySports and the BBC both initially had him in the starting lineup but as mentioned above was later replaced by Meite.

Faye starts for Bolton.

Tough draw for us considering who we could of got. Gonna have to put out a decent side to win.

Owen + Others didn't train because they were having a recovery day involving things lke massages. Then all the rest has been said on .cock

Heads up for anyone who didn't notice, Liverpool/Toulose game starts at 3.30 for some reason.

As much as I try to hate Keane for managing Sunderland I like him more and more everyday.
-
He just wants to be nearer London and Portsmouth ain't too far away compared with Newcastle.
-
Hopefully Pompey get a result against Man U.

Looks like Dyer is finally going! Yay!

Have to say I don't think anyone other than Martins really deserved a place. Harper did OK but nowt special apart from 1 good save. Rozenhal made one bad mistake which forced the good Harper save at the start of the 2nd half. Taylor and Carr solid-ish but unspectacular. Zoggy, good cross/shot for the gaol but not much else. Smith, Geremi, Viduka and Butt worked hard but again weren't spectacular. Milner was probobly the next best bet to be in team of the week but not as good as the players who got in.

On .cock as well now.

Means nothing. He won't be arrested or extradited.
-
He lives in Liverpool still so it would be a fair drive for him every morning.

There has been some confusion about LuaLua's relationship to United starlet Kazenga LuaLua, but the Pompey striker insists: "He is my brother and I am so pleased that I have heard he is doing well at Newcastle. "Apart from having a kick-about with him in the garden, I have never actually seen him play. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_method=full%26objectid=19049907%26siteid=50081-name_page.html

It's a teams own fault for being shit. In fact, for poorer teams it could be an incentive to develop better youngsters, plus it would allow these fringe players to improve their game by getting more matches. What wouldn't change is that only 14 players can be used, but in an injury crisis, these smaller clubs , having given more time to fringe players off the bench, will be able to use players with greater experience. Not being funny but this isn't FM. Teams try hard anyway to develop young talent but in the end your either good enough or your not. Also just by giving fringe players actual game experience won't make them better players, you either have the talent or you don't, we've seen that with Bramble and a few others, played consistantly but haven't improved. Also I doubt teams like Derby will be bringing on kids when they are up against it until the final whistle most weeks. This will just give further advantage to big clubs who will be able to bring on thier kids when 4-0 up but would be useless for teams like Derby who will rarely have the sort of cushion to bring on kids.

Great for big clubs. Not so great for smaller clubs such as Derby who would struggle to fill a 7 person bench with any quality. Would also just lead to the superclubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U buying even more talent so they could have a bench full of talent. Would only want it if their was a rule stating you had to have atleast 2 English players under 21 on the bench.

Got to be something else behind this. No way would they sack him just for a 1-1 draw. I presume he will end up here in some capacity.

Barton? Not so sure about Barton. Barton clearly has anger issues and has times where the red mist comes down and does something incredibly stupid. However I'm not so sure he is a bad person as such and it looks like he is trying to change. On the other hand you have Diouf who dives, spits and just generally acts like a total cunt whenever I see him play and has made no attempt to change his ways. Yeah, stubbing a cigar out on a kids eye when you are a senior player doesn't make you a bad person. Spitting does though. Thats totally different. Barton was 21 when the cigar incident happened and Tandy was hardly a kid, only a year or two younger than Barton at the time. Not denying Barton has done bad things but atleast most of the time he is alright and doesn't act like a idiot on the pitch.

Will be interesting to see how Cacapa does. Not happy about Dyer playing though, he looks like he is on his way out and the place would be better served going to one of our academy players imo.
