Would love him here regardless of price. Will really show our intentions to be a top club if we did somehow managew to get him.

Don't have a season ticket, as I can't get to every game but if I could get to every game I would definetly be renewing. I agree we are definetly in a dip right now but I'm confident we will get out of it and be challenging for the Champions League places in a few years.

Portsmouth did the same last season and ended up staying up. West Ham are signing players who will improve there team and probobly keep them up.

Offered on the open market in summer........NO TAKERS trust the judgement of the other managers or yours......nuff said Did I imagine MON trying to sign him at Villa?
-
Roeder said in the Chronicle this week that Lauren was offered but we turned him down.

On the other hand SBR started by buying players who were going to spend only 1 or 2 years here just so that the club gets going and moves up the table...Then this little success will encourage bigger and better players to come to us...If we don't take these intermidate steps then we will not be able to improve the squad that quickly simply because the good players won't come to a mid table teams like us... The situation now is very different to when SBR came in. When SBR came in we were very much in danger of going down. Now with Roeder, once we get over this injury crisis, we are easily a top 8 team, possible even top 6.

On the contrary I'd say he did very well with Kuyt. Kuyt and his agents would have known about Liverpool's interest as well as Newcastle's pretty early in the summer. We obviously tried to sign him but failed but at the same time we had Martins watched several times and were able to go to Plan B and get our man.

It says shock return this season. By this season I'd assume it means April or May, by which time owen will hopefully be back.

I understand that people will be unhappy we haven't got anyone in and may not do in this window but I think it shows how good Roeder's transfer policy is. He is the first manager in a long time at this club who is actually taking care when spending. Firstly, he is thinking long term, he isn't buying players who will only spend 1 or 2 years here he is going after people who will be here for 4 or 5 years. Secondly, he is clearly after quality, he doesn't just buy people because they are available he is going after players who could help us get back to the Champions League. Finally, by the sounds of it he is not being held to ransom. He's shown he won't pay over the odds when going after people, a good example of that being Bent in the summer. While his policy may not look brilliant in the next 6 months I believe in 2 years time it will look brilliant and we will have a good young squad like we had under SBR.

Nobby is now our first choice right back so we didn't bid for Lauren. Diop is gonna cost £5m and is a crock in a position we don't need.

Ashley Young has verbally agreed to join Villa according to SSN.
-
To be honest we are on the ropes after the drubbing by Birmingham and I'm happy we've got through this game without getting beat. Now we have 10 days to prepare for Villa, get players back fit and reinforce the squad with a couple of new players.
-
Yep, against Villa.
-
Hope Anton's injury isn't serious enough to scupper his possible move as he would be a very good addition for us.
-
Roeder reiterated again yesterday he intends to bring 2 in on loan before the end of the transfer window.
-
Given and Ramage injured today, surely the crisis can't get any worse. Hopefully they are not too badly injured.
-
I'll settle for 2-2. Keeps us in touch with Europe. Shame about Given and Ramage though.

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=440860&CPID=8&clid=4&lid=&title=Toon+in+hunt+for+Italian The 20-year-old only signed a long-term deal in October and Inter are likely to keep the interested parties waiting before making a decision on his future. "We will make a decision on the future of Andreolli on 29th January," Inter director of sport Marco Branca told the club's website. So by the sounds of thst he won't be signed until the 29th at the earliest.

So Roeder is selling one of his midfielders simply because he could be bringing another one in on loan. We only really have 4 central midfielders, so if 2 get inured we are then down to the bare bones, their is nothing wrong with bringing in an extra player to strengthen the squad.

Pure speculation but I think Diarra's move could be happen very soon. He took no part in Chelsea's game last night and from what I've read didn't even travel down to Wycombe with Chelsea.
-
Was Donaldson any good? I saw he's scored 5 goals in 4 games and was just wondered if he was as good as his goal scoring record suggests.

Anyone know how the lads are getting on against Norwich?

Signed the contract about a month ago, not realy new news.
