I don't see this as beyond the realms of possibility. Ashley reportedly wanted him twice when at Everton and he operated well enough on a budget there. If Ashley agrees to relax the transfer bullshit, given Moyes history of selling players at profit, it could be a goer. This.
  3. I don't disagree tbh, but you've changed your tune since the summer (unless I've got a different poster). Wasn't it you who said you don't buy the 'we couldn't attract them' stuff? The club had an opportunity when Pardew buggered off to Palace to show that, actually, their ambitions went beyond deliberate mediocrity. Everything that's happened since then, particularly pursuing a proven failure for the manager's job, has proved beyond doubt that there are no ambitions beyond that. It's a policy that absolutely will not change, and yeah, I've completely given up on hoping for anything. The malaise at the club is deep rooted and everyone in football knows it. Anyone who isn't damaged (i.e. completely ruined) goods would have to be mind-bogglingly stupid to even talk to us, which is just as well really as that's exactly the people we go for. Fair points.
  4. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/david-moyes-poised-become-swansea-6961689 Ah well.
  5. What the f***? These are footballers and you're sitting them down for an hour and giving them speeches? What are we doing? He was best man at my cousins wedding, his speech was s****. You've never mentioned that before.....
  6. I thought the point of the thread was who would you realistically go for. Moyes for me. Who they'll go for is anyone's guess, obviously, but we've got to hope, haven't we?
  7. Gerraway man. Eh? In what way would working for Mike Ashley suit David Moyes perfectly? He'd have to have completely lost his marbles to even consider it. To be fair, anyone would have to have lost their marbles to even consider it, so where do we go? Who do we hope for? Someone who has no marbles? I don't know, is this a trick question?

  10. Give over will you. Moyes would be ideal. I've said in previous posts we'd need to scrap the current structure to get him, which would also be perfect.

still think if (when?) we get chinned tomorrow he'll be gone monday.
  12. the more i think about it, the more it has to be moyes. would suit both parties perfectly.
  13. this hasn't had enough credit.
  14. he'd be barmy to come anywhere near us.
  15. The club is rotten to the core and replacing those below the board is unlikely to change anything. I agree, but they'll make the change none the less.
  16. They won't see Xmas man. It's fucking chaos this
  17. Things going well, in every department I see!
  18. Moyes would be ideal tbh, appointing him would signal the end of the recruitment policy as well.
  19. Ballsy to leave his cushy Sky gig for that like. He'd be an absolute coward if he didn't take that job like eh?
  20. gary neville, new valencia manager.
  21. The thread title is "Who would you go for?"... Well in that case. I want Guardiola, with Enrique as his assistant. Yep. That'll do. It'll be a very short thread if it's 'who would you go for in an ideal world.' Guardiola, close thread. I was obviously being facetious It seems there is quite a small pool of managers to choose from though. The ones that Ashley would actually appoint and the ones that would actually work for him. I'd argue that the majority of the options on that list are unrealistic. I'm just hoping that the threat of relegation and the big money that he'll lose out on. Means that Ashley's hand is forced and he actually appoints a competent manager. It would be nice for him to panic in a good way and properly back a quality manager in the transfer market. Although TBH. We deserve to go down and there is the outside chance that Ashley would sell. So maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. If the last 2-3 years are anything to go by. Then what is the point of us being in the Premier League? i was agreeing with you on the thread title btw. Oh right. Well in that case. Cheers Quite obvious now I re-read it
