  1. Well they did import a number of experienced title winning fans from Man Utd.
  2. while it could have been more to everton, we definetly could have had several ourselves. martins missing the penalty, the taylor/martins header, and howard made some saves. it seems that every game we play, people say the same thing, "well, it could have been way more...", while neglecting our close shots, and good saves from the opposition keeper. You're worse than me with the quotes.
  3. I don't blame Roeder for our injuries, he can't really be blamed for that, I blame him for the lack of depth and he has to take the blame for that because he reduced the numbers. Maybe that is slightly unfair as I don't know that he is at fault, it might be his boss who failed on that one. Losing 1-0 could be put down to bad luck, I'm not so sure that 3-0 is that unlucky especially as if it sounded like 3 could have easily been more.
  4. I'll tell you what Mr Hypocrisy, I'll not talk about the game that I didn't attend when you do the same. Yes our defenders will be back, so will our forwards unless you know differently and our returning forwards will be better than our returning defenders. Where have I said we should go through the season with only 1 striker?
  5. Roeder reduced our defence by two numerically in the transfer window, what has that to do with previous managers? As for the unfit keeper, Roeder allowed Caig to leave for nothing only to replace him with a 38 year old, work the logic of that one out if you can. Absolving him of any blame looks a bit blinkered. Fair enough he had very little control once they were on the pitch but his preparation for this season has a lot to do with our current situation.
  6. Both the players and Roeder, one builds the team and hopefully coaches them, once they go onto the pitch then they're responsible for what they do or don't do.
  7. My mistake, I thought he was blaming our result on defending set-pieces and our lack of defenders, I felt that the fact that we had let in 3 goals backed him up on that point.
  8. It's interesting that you don't blame the manager for us being unable to defend set-pieces or for being forced to play that back four considering he got rid of two defenders and only got one in after the transfer window had closed, that one he got is has not and will not play a game for us. Who do you blame?

Roeder said the same thing last year, only to be told by his boss that he needed forwards and that was before Owen was injured in the WC so yes, we'll see.
  13. Your first is stronger than your second. Roeder hasn't done anything for me that an average manager couldn't do. Yes we moved up the table last season after the departure of Souness but that was only to be expected because the negativity of Souness was lifted. Roeder did something then that he seems unable to do this season, put out a balanced side. The Owen injury hasn't anything to do with our state this season, at least no more than it had last season when he was injured from Christmas. Roeder has had time in the job and developed favouritism and we're paying for that now, we're also paying for him taking over a paper thin squad and reducing it, he's done the same as Souness in that respect. I wouldn't like to see him using injuries as an excuse because of this and he's not doing it, to his credit, possibly because he's partly to blame for this. Roeder has got rid of or allowed more players to leave than he‘s brought in which is inexcusable, that‘s down to him and or his boss. Alan Shearer, Tony Caig, Martin Brittain, Lee Bowyer, Michael Chopra, Robbie Elliott, Amady Faye, Jean-Alain Boumsong have all left and he's brought in Damien Duff, Obafemi Martins, Giuseppe Rossi, Antoine Sibierski, Olivier Bernard and Pavel Srnicek, so 2 more left than have come in, remember also that 2 of those arrived after the transfer window.

  16. I don't think Parker is to blame or being blamed, he's being mentioned because the changes have been made to fit him in. I've got nothing against Parker other than his spin which I hate, he doesn't do it all of the time but he does do it far too often and slows the game right down, instead of us going on the quick break we allow opposition players more time to get back. right so who had Duff and Zog's legs broken so we could fit Emre in on the left? You're right, bastard Parker.
  17. They haven't dropped 11 league places. Fact. They've both won trophies since 1997. Fact. Neither have appointed shite managers since 1997. Fact I’m not posting anything else in response to you on this matter in this thread. Fact.

  19. where is your sister these days ? I expect he will be back prediciting financial doom now we have lost a couple of games. bluesleep.gif Edited to read: where is your sister these days ? I expect he will be back prediciting financial doom now we have lost a couple of games. Anyway, I see we are level on points with Aston Villa and the great Martin O;Neill. Thats someway backwards they have gone since they won the European Cup 26 years ago and Ellis took over isn't it ? Daft edit, you just look stupid again. Ellis took over when they were 19th in the league so he left them higher than when he took over. Fact.
  20. Absolute crap, yeah I'm sure when you take pens in the park against your mates its not that hard. But try taking a penalty with thousands of people watching and putting there faith in you to score what is considered an easy chance.. Try taking a penalty for your country knowing your entire nation is watching you and that the next thing you do will make you a hero or a national target. its anything but easy. If you took 50 pens in Premiership games I'd bet you'd miss 40 of them and so would I. but you can be a good pen taker without being a good striker is the point Exactly. And a crap striker can quite easily end up with 10-15 league goals, just because he takes the penalties. Edit: wish he'd just taken that one though. at the edit
