Footballers can have a period where everything they hit goes in, Cisse was doing it last season. That doesn't mean that a forward should be expected to score with every chance, or does it? You seem to think that creating two good chances in a game is good enough yet when we beat Southampton we had the best goals to chances created ratio in the league, that day and it was only 40% which is less than a goal for every 2 chances.

I'm not even sure what that means.

How many chances do you think Andy Cole and Les Ferdinand needed to get goals? My guess is that both would have a record of less than a goal for every couple of good chances and both were formidable scorers for us, I wonder why? We’re not creating enough chances and that it down to how we play and it’s not good enough.
  4. The best we've done from a corner was when Ben Arfa picked it up and ran into the box to win a penalty, at least I think it was from a corner against Spurs at home.

I'm not getting into what Souness did do or didn't do or what posters said or didn't say. I think most people will probably agree that we did play well and lost today, has anybody said that either didn't happen? The thing is, some people seem to think that losing was our fate and that we couldn't have done anything that could have changed the outcome of the game, that is utter bullshit.

It reminds me of the threads defending Souness.

That's what he does deserve criticising for, doing nothing.

Today should have been a draw and could have been a win, instead it was a defeat and he's partially to blame for that through his lack of movement until the late changes.

All substitutions are reactionary, that's why you have them so that you can react to a situation. I think we were so far on top that taking off Jonas would have had no negative impact, especially considering how little he was involved. In the end they made changes and that gave them fresh legs to push out with and we paid for that.

I'm not sure how you can say that he got nothing wrong then say he could have made the switch 10 minutes earlier. Is that not a contradiction by you? I think he should have made the changes on 70 minutes but he was never going to while it was 0-0.

We were on top 2nd half and needed something different in our game which we didn't try to do until the 89th minute. I think Pardew got the players fired up in the 2nd half and we gained from that but we also suffered because his lack of willingness to try something different while we were still going to get a point. I like Jonas as a person but he's bringing nothing to the team and Marveaux is much more likely to tip the game in our favour than Jonas.
  12. 89 minutes for changes that should have been made 20 minutes earlier, poor.

So that's your basis for writing off this season?

How the hell does this season not prove anything at all?

I can't wait to see the back of him as long as he's replaced right, I'd take Laudrop over him tomorrow.
  16. Would you have confused him with Cabaye?

5 more league games until we beat these, I can't wait.

Gone for 4, it's still possible but isn't likely now.
  19. He should have done better for both goals today.
  20. You're right and it was good to see, he only had 3 or 4 minutes so went out at half time to make sure he was ready for the start of the 2nd half.
