  1. Agreed. Our league position and points total has been better than I expected so far, to balance that out this league is not as good as I had expected. The quality of our football has been crap more often than not and I don't see why we should just accept it as being good enough, I don't think it's necessary either.
  2. In the 4 games before yesterday we'd scored 9 goals, in the last 4 games with Harewood we scored 8.
  3. You seem to think inexperienced kids shouldn't get games at the expense of the team, you're on about Kadar who was dropped for somebody who is younger than him and has played 1 more game at club level than Kadar before yesterday. Does age and experience only apply when it's Kadar up against Williamson? I have no problem with the signing of Williamson, it was a good move by the club.
  4. Kadar was replaced yesterday by somebody who was 5 months younger than him.
  5. Where has anybody advocated that we give kids experience at the expense of the team? Does age automatically determine the level at which somebody should play? The kids have only ever let us down when they've been played on mass in the League Cup. Nobody is suggesting that we drop our first 11 and just bring the reserves and juniors in. What is being suggested is that some of the kids wouldn’t play any worse than those which they could replace, at the same time they’ll gain experience which will hopefully make them better players.
  6. Why is giving kids experience nonsense? Every single top player has started off as an inexperienced kid, every single one of them were given games in which they gained experience, many in a tougher division than the one we're in. If we can't do it in this league then we'll never be in a position to do it.
  7. I've seen more in LuaLua than I have in him but LuaLua isn't getting games so something must be wrong somewhere.
  8. Where were Donaldson, Tozer and LuaLua? They've all been on the bench within the last couple of games and weren't involved yesterday.
  9. We do have enough players to fill the bench without putting an injured player on it for the sake of it. If we have had him on the bench while injured then it's madness. I could understand that kind of thinking in April if we need points for promotion, I can't understand it at this time because a bad injury could lead to the player missing the rest of the season. Souness did something like that to Taylor when he injured his shoulder while playing for England and we lost him for the rest of that season. It's possible that he was on as a way of keeping the opposition manager guessing but I doubt that was the reason.

He's never come out and denied that he said it and I'm sure people like Enrique who speaks almost perfect English has read about it.
  11. If he's not fit to start then he shouldn't be on the bench, the same as yesterday. If a player isn't fit to play why have him on the bench when the temptation to use him can take over from common sense?

I haven't spoken to him so I can't say how good his English is but I've been to Spain and managed to have good conversations without ever speaking a work of Spanish. You might be surprised at how good foreigners can speak our language. Some of the foreign posters on here use better English than some of the locals.

Here's direct quotes: "I even stopped playing in the last few days to force my exit. "If they hadn't accepted the loan at Santander, I would have regarded my situation at Newcastle as hopeless."
  14. I made an assumption because the post followed mine, it's no big deal anyway.
  15. Agreed, he changes far too much far too often.
  16. It's not just merchandise, it's almost every item of clothing we buy and a lot of the food that we eat. This story is just bullshit because they are looking at a tiny part of a massive problem. I would rather produce football shirts for £1 than do many of the worse jobs that people in these countries have to do for even less money.
  17. I seem to remember somebody bragging in a Spanish brothel that the club paid £5 for a football shirt and sold them to us mugs. Of course the manufacturer could have been selling thousands of shirts at a loss.

He stopped playing by his own admission while here, he should never pull our shirt on again.
  19. He's got the managers job so he is the manager, I'm not even sure our coaches are doing a good job either.
  20. Using "Hughton isn't a manager" is lame, he's our manager and should and will be judged on that basis.
  21. The pressure will be greater now that he's manager, as for the camera being on him and the interviews, that hasn't really changed just because he's got the job.
  22. Hughton has been in football long enough to be able to make basic footballing decisions.
  23. I can understand people saying that we need a forward but Shearer would have struggled to score with the shit our central midfielders produce. I've seen people saying that Ryan Taylor put in some good crosses against Leicester, I'd be surprised if he actually put in more than 1 or 2 because most of the balls that he put into the box went in at knee height and didn't get anywhere near one of our players. The forwards are feeding on scraps and we'd need a really good forward to score regularly with the service that they are getting.
  24. To be fair to him, he did direct his first few headers well and I was surprised at that.
