  1. It's the maximum but I don't think football uses the Industrial Tribunal, I think some other body looks after these things.
  2. I'd love to have a Tino at the minute, we've got nobody even close to the skill which he had.
  3. I've jut had a thought, if Keegan took us to an Industrial Tribunal for Constructive Dismissal the maximum award possible is around £69,000.

    NUSC - Good or Bad?

Sir John did walk away from the running of the club and the only quotes from anybody in a position to know have said so, not a single quote goes against this.

    Obafemi Martins

Re: Martins. I hope we can keep him fit for the rest of the season, he'll be a very important player for us, especially if he's played with Lovenkrands.

Why do you give Ozzie so much grief for supporting Souness while giving the bloke who appointed him so much slack? I was totally against Souness from day 1 but I don't blame anybody who supported him for that because Souness being here had nothing to do with them.

Owen is still here and I have never thought from the day that he signed that he'd be here any longer than he had to, I don't think he'd be here if anybody else had been in for him and had made an acceptable bid for him. He didn't even want to sign for us initially, he wanted to come on loan and only signed because he wanted to increase his chance of playing for his beloved England. I'm not bothered about him going as he's simply not value for money, the worst thing about him going is that it could send a signal to others we're looking to bring in. Given going doesn't bother me and it never has as I've always thought that Harper was good enough and has always had a raw deal and been dropped far too early. N'Zogbia, I'm a bit pissed off about him but once the dummy went then he had to go. N'Zogbia has been pissed about for years and Kinnear was just one manager he perceived to be pissing him about too many. The two cup finals in no way made up from dropping from 2nd to 13th, I would probably settled for a win out of one of those but the league position drop was shocking by any standards, more than the actual league position if that makes any sense. As for the finals themselves, I think next to relegation getting back to central London after a cup defeat is as bad as it gets.
  8. Ok but at least it gets the point across.
  9. It was £100 million but he's put in another £20 million since then.
  10. Stick £1000 into your bank and see how much you get back, at the same time borrow £1000 from the same source over the same period and see how much it costs, I'll give you odds of 100/1 that you end up out of pocket. That's why Ashley has loaned his own money to his own club.
  11. Ashley does gain an advantage, interest on savings is almost nil while interest on loans has gone through the roof, it's as basic as that.
  12. The only problem with that theory is that in 2006 we were showing £16,950,000 and in 2007 we were showing £17,833,000 for player amortisation so if we are now paying up front then we weren't during the last financial year.
  13. Ashley paid off loans to the value of £70,319,000 out of the £110 million he loaned to the club, the £110 includes the £10 million loaned later but mentioned. Amortisation of players was only up £1 million from the year before at £17,833,000.

Shepherd was given time to put right his mistakes, some people are going to give Ashley time to get it right. If we'd all kicked off after either, or both of Dalglish and Gullit we wouldn't have had Sir Bobby and what he gave us.

I've got to go out but will respond when I get back, but I think we may have spent and ran out of money later in the year. Remember the casino had already fallen through and we had nobody lined up to build a hotel and since that time, but not long after, the whole global financial position changed.
  16. He's put £40 million in to cover our payments, £30 million is covered in the last set of accounts and £10 million has been reported this week yet you have decided that you'll make a judgement based on nothing. Regardless of him potentially getting the loans back, we needed the money and Shepherd wasn't in a position to pay that sort of money.

A solid fact that we had no money is the club accounts, not just the balance but also the fact that we'd spent £millions trying to and failing to re-finance the debt.
  18. That's not an answer, are you trying to say that we would have been higher with less money to spend if Shepherd had remained? Remember how Allardyce performed while here with money to spend, how would he have done better with less money to spend? The accounts clearly show we had a budget deficit and were trying to, but had so far failed to re-finance our debt, Liverpool are having the same problems now as we were having before Ashley.
  19. What FS would have done what all the other clubs with high wages and debt do. Maybe you can enlighten me so that I know the answer.
  20. Mistakes have been made and it looks like we're making another with Kinnear, I still think we'd be in a worse position if we didn't have Ashley to bail us out.
  21. The accounts confirm that Ashley paid in £100 million and that was used to pay off loans and also made up the difference between money in and out, the loss. You've mentioned the extra £10 million which is mentioned in a note. The £10 million loaned this week was mentioned in the Times. I've just looked at the accounts again and noticed that we also have a black-hole in our pension scheme, it's down to -£9 million from -£10.5 million the year before and will be paid back over 10 years, I hope nobodies done a Robert Maxwell.
