Not really bothered about left sided midfield as Gaylor/Guthrie can help out there and Enrique can bomb forward .

But they might have one or two games but the current bunch are a regular occurence and that for me makes them the worst midfield in my memory cos its not a couple of games and while we are on its nice to have flare players like spiderman but he has hardly any end product.

Imho that has got alot to do with his state of mind with the court cases etc and since that has been and gone hopefully he will repay us.

Smiths shot was embarrassing there's academy players that would have done better. Sad thing is he mustered more efforts goal bound then Owen and Carrol put together in a fraction of the time on the pitch if my memory serves me right.

It makes you question Shearer's eye for a player if Guthrie doesn't get a game before Nolan. Keegan would never have made that mistake, and I didn't think Shearer would have either. As I said last week, Guthrie must play in every game until the end of the season, but by missing out today he is that much further from match fitness when we are going to need him playing at 100%. Much as I hate to criticise Shearer, I think he's made a big mistake not playing Guthrie today. The only defense of Shearer i can come up with is he doesnt think Guthrie has a enough fitness then i think to myself "fit enough for bench fit to start" ,hopefully he will have learnt something today as he did from Amoebi the week before .

I remember in the early 80's being in the Leppings lane end and had no bother before the game or during but after the game ended all the toon fans vacated the stand ll at once on a boiling hot day and given no warning by the police to stay in our seats or on terracing so we all filed out into a walled area behind the stand with the exit gates to the streets still locked so the sheffield fans could disperse which was normal policy back then and probably now,with there being no gates open everyone behind just kept coming out without knowing the situation we wereall being pushed around and at times being young i couldnt control my direction but being on a wave off my feet and that wasnt just me.A police woman was helped on to a outbuilding to get out of bother and smaller kids the same ,looking back it shows how easy this sort of thing can happen.
