We're seen, and some if its justified, as being a complete laughing stock of a club, we'll have to hold onto him for now in A) the belief he'll either see the light or what he's 'trying' to do works but mainly B) i'd hate to see who we'd be able to entice to come to manage us.

So would I. Unfortunately they are busy elsewhere in the summer. They are, but as the proposed celtic tournament is scheduled to start in Feb and end in May, then we'll still have nowt to do in the summer.

I hope Tommy isn't still singing 'Little White Bull.' The last time I can remember seeing Tommy was outside the Green Market, he was pushing a barrow of fruit. Ha, was thinking about that song while I was reading the original post. i had it as my sig for a long time Shame it was pre-mobile phone cameras....would have been canny on youtube!

We'll probably get quite a few requests from those teams who'd managed to qualify for a game too. I'd rather play France, Germany, Italy etc than have to join the 'Celtic' tournament......

Drop the underachievers, not the whole bloody squad. We'd be having people like Smith and Agbonlahor upfront at that rate. The likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand and Neville need the wake-up calls. Neville's finally been replaced as far as i am concerned anyhow, and i honestly can't see Beckham featuring much after he gets his 100th. Drop Rooney, Cole, Owen, Wright-Phillips? Eh? They're the only ones that actually produce on a fairly consistent basis. Nevertheless, i do agree with the incentive to tinker with the squad. Time is available now, after all. I just don't think doing it to such an extent is a wise decision. Only Beckham of that four I would say ta-ta to. Ferdinands looked sound his last few games, Nevilles been injured a fair while, and while he's not as good as Richards getting forward (but better than folk give him credit) he's a much better defender than him (but if you meant Phil, then fair enough!!) Lampard and Gerrard are the tricky ones, can't play both at the same time, I think everyone bar the pundits and Mclaren can see that, and whichever one does get picked, and I don't think there's to much between them, they should be played behind the front two.

England 2 - 3 Croatia = FAIL and will not win the World Cup!1!!11

Croatia were very motivated on the night I thought. They went all out for the win and passed us to death. The fact they looked so comfortable doesn't mean they were 'going through the motions'. That's not how it looked to me. That, they had a plan and stuck to it as it was working. -
Bothered, fucking aye, even more so as i'm now greeted at work this morning by overly delerious checkie skirt wearing ginger bawbags!!

While hindsight is a wonderful thing, can anyone honestly say that they thought 'before' the game that he really should have played James instead of Carson? James is having a good season, so is Campbell, but Campbell (as with just about all of them last night) had a mare, and that can't be put down to lack of experience can it? The fact of it is that it doesn't matter what the experience of a goalie is, he should be expected no matter how much he may be suffering from nerves to do the absolute basics which is get your body behind the ball, Carson didn't and he/we paid the price, which 'then' went on to give him the shits for the rest of the half. He was ok from the time onwards he'd made that save earlyish second half. -

Carson Richards Lescott Campbell Bridge Barry Gerrard Beckham Cole a forward Crouch Haven't a clue which other forward he'll pick as there's none of them that really stands out tbh, if I had to make a choice, i'd probably go with Defoe, not other reason than he's more mobile than Smith. He may even go 5 in the middle and have Lampard on from the start. -
it that like curry hell?

Havent' got a problem when the ACN is held, everyone knew about beforehand. I presume by the strong wording he uses that it must be a FIFA ruling that he can call a pre-tournament training/get together camp of 'x' length and other than clubs putting pressure on their players to have a 'niggle' or whatever theres nowt we/they can do about it.

If Crouch plays then so will Beckham. -
Thinking about it, if England don't qualify for the Euro's, whats his motivation to get fit going to be?
-
At this moment with the way we play, not that bothered about England too much. But come the summer when the euro's are on, i'll be silently wishing we were there!!
-
Door opens for Martins now, and 'might' even mean Smith could actually get a game up front now (Viduka won't last long either fit)
-
Edgar, and he should really be out on loan somewhere anaal
-
BBC should feel chuffed that 300 people actually watch that dross..... 60/40 with the scousers on this one, if the script writers had just linked hooliganism and Heysel then nobody could have complained about it being factually wrong, but if (I didn't watch it) they then state it about Hillsborough then its no wonder they complained.
-
It doesn't matter who we bought/sold up front, nowt will change significantly until we start playing to win games instead of not losing them.
-
Aye, i'd agree he's probably being well talked up, but we've been not that far off winning things recently as well but never did, also he's kept them winning/qualifying which to me shows that he's not a one-hit wonder.
-
His cv doesnt' look too bad tbh, the only dubious thing appears to be his love of moving houses.
-
Wasn't happy after the Villa game, but realise that he played that way for a reason, player availability, and not because thats his main tactic. I'd say we've played competently so far and should/will improve.
-
No need to change the starting line-up, but Smith or Viduka on the bench instead of Ameobi. If things are going ok, in fact even if its not, bring on Barton for 20 or so mins again, same for Smith/Viduka.

Nowt quite as good as kicking a man when he's doon is there.......
