World Cup 2018 Host cities - Newcastle and Makemville both chosen
Offshore replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
Should we get the WC, then I think us and the SOL will be ok, you can base a whole group up here. Home park, MK's, Bristol and unless they virtually rebuild it, Elland Road look the ones at real threat. That would have London as a base for a group or two, the North West for the same, East/West mids, Sheffield/Leeds (if ok) and us for a group, with another fitted in somewhere - probably Laandan. -
Re butchers coats.....wasn't it something to do with 'Clockwork Orange' or something like that?
-
Good question. At my present age (45) i'll go for present, but if I was in teens/twenties i'd go for the 80's, the football was rubbish but by fuck it was a laugh.

Football specials & non-all ticket away games. Magic.

Under this regime........the Bobby Robson memorial inside the ground.

Shola wants to go to the World Cup... for Nigeria
Offshore replied to nufcmichael's topic in Football
This is crazy. Surely Nigeria can call on better than wor stroller. He couldn't get a look in when we were in the prem, now we've got relegated and he's managed to find the net (and not looking too convincing doing it either) he's eyeing up the WC. What next, Nolan called up as back-up to Rooney? -
Someone's just mentioned this at work. If Ashley sold the rights to the name of the ground to himself (Sports-Direct) on a five year contract and then sold the club this/next season, what could be done about it other than buying the rights back?

What utter bollocks. Llambias has already come out and said the money will not go towards transfers. He said there will be little or no transfer kitty in January whatever happens and he would prefer more loan signings. Moat is either badly out of touch with events at SJP or his "bid" was a classic salesman stunt by Ashley to flush out potential bidders. Having read these comments my money is on the latter. He is saying what 'he' would use the money for, not what 'they' are doing with the cash raised from sports direct for the use of the name. But your point about his 'bid' stands.

Why not have two voices, your own and a joint one I like the idea, but doesn't that go against the core statement that no matter how much someone put in, they would only get 'one' vote. So if someone bought a share outright at the minimum price and then joined a shared share, they would have, in theory, greater voting rights than someone who has lumped in, for example, £10 million. Possible legal issues methinks.

Open up the training ground to visitors. Employ a competent club press officer Become more involved in the community, schools, youth footie league teams etc Make sure I got a game at least once at SJP for the first team!!

If we had to sell one of our strikers, i'd rather it was Ameobi. Carroll may or may not make it as a PL player but at least theres a chance he could, Wor Shola on the other hand..........

99.99% of folk know what the context of the banner wording was, and I can fully understand why it was made and shown. However you can't accuse someone of being a 'rapist', whatever the intention and not expect the police and stewards to be ordered to get it removed. I personally thought the homemade sheet one was much better thought out and probably got more publicity which I thought was the point.

The football league show's main problem is it follows MOTD so has to be 'different'. Just be thankful FIVE don't have the rights to our games. ps don't know what her name is but she's got a canny set of legs.

Didn't they say at the end that Plymouth had a service of some sort before the game?
-
It would buy him some time, nothing more.

Not sure what the proposed actions are, but if it involves a sustained verbal attack on the board/owner then that shouldn't affect any of our players at all - probably have the opposite effect if its loud and near enough everyone joined in. Players should/would only be concerned if it was aimed at them. If it also involves a boycott of games then I like the suggestion put on here of targeting a home cup match. Wouldn't want anything to get in the way of disrupting our promotion bid. Getting out of this league at the first attempt is (to me) just slightly higher a priority than Ashley's ownership.
-
All they've probably lost is the fact that they've been found guilty. The actual cost of this would be near enough the same if they had sacked him before he jumped.

Nike would be ideal, shame we'll probably end up with 'George'.

Be interesting to get Seymour Pierce's and Moat's take on this.

Very good O.P. We do have a first eleven capable (as shown earlier) to be a match for any team in this crap division. However we only have about eleven capable players, once we lose one or two in key positions - centre backs lately, it shows the glaring lack of decent cover in our 'squad'. Hughton - difficult one this, on one hand he's a coach who while I wouldn't say is completely out of his depth is certainly finding it harder than coaching alone. But on the other hand, he's inherited a slow, shitty, hideously overpaid in regards to worth so hard to shift, and seemingly full of individuals out for themselves squad and has turned it into something resembling a fairly decent championship team. He also has one and a half hands tied behind his back by the owner and chairmen who will not spend on the first team. Would he be in my list of managers to take over full time, probably not but as we're unable to attract anyone even half decent under our owner without lying to him then i'd be happy to appoint Hughton until the end of the season with a proviso to reassess then. The loanees - Simpson is ok, he's a young lad who may or may not make it with Man Utd, the other two are journeymen who should be squad fillers at best. Fans being disappointed after losing, all fans of all clubs are like that. Its probably only on forums that you get folk stating greater and greater things they're going to do after a defeat.....i'll not going next week after that performance.....i'm not going again this season after that performance.......i'm cutting my left arm off to get rid of the shame of having a Toon tattoo etc etc. Vast majority are just letting off steam and possibly just trying to show that they care more than anyone else. Nothing to get too worried about though. All in all, no--one ever said being a fan of Newcastle United was going to be an easy ride. This isn't a snipe at the younger fan but if all you've ever seen is the Toon in the Prem then if past history is anything to go by then you'd better get used to a bit of disappointment.

As Gibson isn't a complete idiot, he probably got someone lined up before sacking Southgate.
-
Presume their respective chairmen will fully endorse the 'British' olympic football team from now on then.

Trouble is, as soon as cash is involved in any venture all this equal say business goes out the window. If I was putting xx million into the NUST, i'd want xx million equal votes. ....their intentions are good though.

Norwich to Coventry - Step up in level Coventry to Newcastle - Step up in level Newcastle to Celtic - Bust-up Newcastle to Blackburn - Same as above Blackburn to Liverpool - Step up in level Liverpool to West Ham - Not good enough, regular first-team football West Ham to Man City - Step up in level Apart from the Souness bust-up, all his other moves have been for the best for his career. Think we're the only team not to make a profit on him too (or was it we were the only one to make a loss?)
