Money, money, money is all that matters to me. Bartons a cunt, we knew that before we signed him, nothing has changed now. Just because he's going to jail for a couple of months doesn't mean we should cancel his contract... that's just madness. We lose out on a 5m pound investment. We don't lose money while he's in jail so it's no loss, if anything we are making a profit out of the time he would normally be on a beach in barbados. I agree wholeheartly that we shouldn't have wankers at the club but we have to be cleverer than that. If/when someone puts a bid in for him.... then we can get shot but not until then IMO.

He shouldn't be sacked because it's bad buiness sense. Those who want him gone should be saying "wait until he gets out and then sell him"

Bundesliga player of the year last year --- and you never heard of him. Come on, I couldn't imagine a better prospect than Modric will choose a club who even cannot play in UEFA cup. Counter this statement please. I'm glad you challenged me Counter No1 In case you hadn't noticed the standard of the Bundesliga is terrible. Not bad, not quite awful but terrible (barring 2 perhaps 3 teams). However, i do understand that it means he beat players such as Podolski, Klose etc which is commendable but winning Bundesliga player of the year does not automatically make you a great player. On the same note, i'm not going to allow anyone to use the "well he's scored this many goals in this many games". The reason why this doesn't make you a great player is underlined by the failures of, Shevchenko, Kezman and Kuyt (as a goalscorer) in this league. Counter No2 In your opinion, he's a better prospect than Modric but this sort of statement can only be built on opinion. However, i agree it would be in his best interests to join a club that is playing in europe but i will never accept that if he had to choose between us and Everton (example) he would choose Everton (only because their playin in the UEFA cup) especially when we have so many overriding qualities on them. After all that i do want to point out i think he would be a very good addition to our squad and a success in this league. I'm just sick of hearing "we don't have the same attraction anymore" something i've been hearing for the last 4 years.

I will be firmly in the Croatia camp. If i was to bet on a side winning it, i'd pick Germany.

Honestly I don't know where this talk saying he won't come to us becuase he'd walk straight into the Real/Arsenal/Liverpool first team is coming from. Like I said, I see him as having about the same stature as Huntelaar or Berbatov/Eduardo prior to their moves to England. It's a bit of stretch but if he wants consistent first team football in a top tier league aren't us/Spurs/Everton/Villa about as good as he's going to get? Fair enough if he prefers slowly breaking into a CL squad, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that we could get him. Exactly, i think to myself, Thierry Henry wouldn't walk into any of them sides but Mario Gomez is a dead cert, it's ridiculas. I understand that our stock has fallen and i understand that there will be other good clubs in for him but to say it's undoable is just stupid. Are people forgetting we are still the 13th richest club in the world and statistically the 5th best overal performers in the premierleague (which is the best league in the world).

you or vokes (wouldn't be surprised with either) Spurs enqiured for about 5m, however they got their facts wrong. I said i was a member of a Newcastle board not a member of THE Newcastle board. Turned them down regardless.
-
Funny the way a player is either not good enough to play for us or we are incapable of attracting him. I'd never heard of Gomez until we were linked with him, now i'm not doubting he's a huge talent but "too big" for this club.... fuck off. Every year the same drivel about how we can't attract big/good players anymore.

MJ and KD who post on here made me hate them. We first encountered MJ on this board and i couldn't work out whether he was taking the piss with all his ITK bollocks, but he persisted and over the years it's become the laughing stock of this board. Then came along King Dawson, who's name tells the whole story. I'm sure i saw a post from him the other day saying that every time he sees Dunne play he's "shaky", which is laughable considering his name. Mind you i do admire his sheer blindness to the Spurs cause. Reminds me of the way the Germans were convinced that Hitler was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Which is another piece of irony considering the racial background of a large part of their fans. The only other Spurs fan i have ever come across was a bloke down the road, who i didn't even realise was a football fan until they won the carling cup..... funny that. and then there's this whole transfer buisness.
-
Isn't that what ITK stands for? Informed Transfer Kitty?
-
I asked mine and he said we are signing Robin Van Puuurrrsie. I'll get my coat.
-
It's just good buisness. This is the one situation where you can really afford to let a player leave, when you have a replacement lined up. If they want 12-15m and we give them 8 plus Emre we've had a pretty good deal, considering Emres value to us. I've never seen the lad play and have never signed him on FM but i like the idea of signing young foreign players for the future.
-
Well i don't want Harry Redknapp's team to win anything but on the other hand im not too keen on a welsh club winning it either. Prediction 2-0 pompey
-
He did so well at convincing me he's an "ITK" until now. Suppose him and "jonno" will talk about it later.
-
Hope he does stay, he would be a massive asset to the club. Sadly, i still think when West Ham make their ineviteble move that he will change his tune but for the time being this is great news.
-
At the time, i thought it was an amazing piece of buisness for 5m, i do believe he is another player caught up in the turbulance of this club. However, time or excuses are long gone. If a 3-2m bid comes in i'd let him go, otherwise he's a semi useful squad player at best.
-
Would be a good signing and no suprise to see him going for 10m but if the big four are in for him we have no chance.
-
Dunne is out of contract at the end of next year. He's just going for cheap this year because it doesn't sound like he wants to stay there. Jol do you honestly think anyone takes a bit of notice of your ITK bollocks, take a lesson from Brummie and King Harry etc, other clubs fans who come on here and don't irritate the living fuck out of me. If Spurs are in for Dunne then tough shit for them.
-
YES I AM No seriously, i think he has alot about him. His finishing ability looks fantastic, similar to Eduardo in the style. He also drops deep and help create as well as having a good set piece on him. That's a lot for a 21 year old in his first 6 months.
-
KK returning, one of the most amazing moments in WORLD football this year. Beating the mackems.
-
Forget football, what an amazing human. God bless.
-
Same age as Berbatov then. I reckon around the 15m mark and i'd pay more big fan.
-
2 or 3m i think, the same as McCarthy and Bentley iirc. Look at Warnock too, turned him form a pure bit part player at Liverpool, he's now had an england call up.
-
Can't seem to fathom the Huddlestone situation. Everytime i have seen him play he has looked good, yet slightly inconsistant (age). If Spurs are letting him go then i'd take him without a doubt.
