  1. Oh aye but at least he came highly rated and suffered a career threatening injury.
  2. That'll be us wasting 6 million on Smith I'll trump you 9m pounds worth of Jean Alain Boumsong.
  3. Thing you have to remember is that Ameobi is highley rated by others in the premiership. It was only a couple of years ago that we though Shola was on his way to white hart lane. 4m is very good money for him but it's not the most ridiculas thing i've seen. Hope it comes through and the money pushes a through a deal for another player.
  4. Spot on. I'm sick of missing out on players like Dunne.
  5. You say that Dunne is overrated, yet you say you would like Cuellar? Cueller is a good player in a shit league, where as Dunne is a good player (at least) in the BEST league in the world. Man City fans love him and he's a real leader at the back. I can quite happily say i'd be delighted if we started with Dunne and Faye at the back next year. Agree about Ireland but he's young.
  6. TBH i wish this thread was locked
  7. What has it got to do with being foreign. It's more the case, that they don't have a clue, what football is all about... Find me a foreign owner in the Premiership who is in touch with reality. Randy Lerner.
  8. There's our "one tiiiiime" one, which is the same basic tune, a la Liverpools "In Istanbul, we won it 5 times", but regarding our Intertoto success. I thought that was quite humorous. I'm going to remember that one the next time play Livepool. I love sarcastic ones like. Was anyone at anfield when we were singing "geordie boys taking the piss" 3-0 down as their fans were leaving? The must have thought we were mental.
  9. Hart and Onuoha as back up, Corlukas decent too
  10. I think a Martins; "He scores with his leeeeeeeft, he scores with his Riiiiiiight etc" would have been a canny one. I love EIEIEIO and Keano. One that annoys me is the way that "micheal owen, micheal owen oooooo oooo o micheal owen" always gets half arsed. Never takes off. The best away one at liverpool was "Stevie Gerrard Gerrard, he kisses the badge on his chest then hands in a transfer request, Stevie Gerrard Gerrard." Love it.
  11. Does noone else see the obvious connection between Man Utd losing and them acting like "sore losers". Happens everytime, fergy will make out that the ref cost them the game and his players will kick off like children.
  12. I've always liked Man City, decent fans. It's a shame if they are having to put up with this kind of bullsit like.

    Alan Smith

    I'd have Ashton here.
  14. No suprise Dunne won't sign a new deal. Get Elano in while we are at it.
  15. Jol, how do you rate Zokora, you reckon he will be on the move?
  16. Nice metaphor, i like. Going to use that one in the next couple of weeks for sure.

    Milner next season

Disagree with both. I don't want us to change back to 442 because i think we have finally found a system that suits the fans Let me just stop you there... What the fuck? The fact that you stopped me there was why you didn't understand. I said fans AND the team. i.e i don't believe our players suit 442 (mainly because it hasn't worked this season), yet i don't think the fans particularly like 451/433. This system looks like a good middle ground that suits both, yer?

    Milner next season

Disagree with both. I don't want us to change back to 442 because i think we have finally found a system that suits the fans and the team. I also don't rate Pennant all that highley, he's good don't get me wrong but not the step up i'd be looking for.

    Milner next season

I'd put money on O'Neill being in for Milner. Yous have made attempts (and come very close) to taking him over the last 3 seasons iirc. There isn't a doubt in my mind that you will enquire and Milner is bound to be intrested. Only thing is, i can see KK keeping a hold of Milner. He's a real Keegan typed lad.
  20. Break the bank for someone who is not available could well be the best option. DM is probably the most important position for us if we are looking to move forward. (look how Spurs fell away when they lost Carrick and replaced him with a far inferior player(s)) I agree but who? I honestly think Grant (if he was in charge) would be tempted to let him go in the summer. From what i've seen he's good on the ball and has plenty of physical attributes at a good age. Let him work with Butt and get him used to the role, would sound nice to me.

    Milner next season

I've always thought that most of his best play has come from a central area BUT normally when he's been played out wide. Personally, i think he's too lightweight for central midfield role. Even if he isn't, i doubt he has enough quality (and we should be aiming high) to get into our starting 11 next season. On the other hand, it makes absolutley no sense in selling Milner, unless we have someone like Barnes lined up. We can't be letting go young, highley rated, versitile, squad players, it's just not good sense (unless of course they want to leave). If Villa come in with 6+ and we can line up Barnes or that anderlect lad, then i'd let him leave. Otherwise we can't afford it.
  22. Regardless of what i would do, i'm certain we will name an unchanged side, with perhaps the exception of Edgar. I'd like to see both Carrol and Milner involved. Any news on Emre? Have a feeling that him and N'Zogbia are both all but gone TBH.
  23. Struggling to think of any really good DM's that are available. In the past there had been Carrick, Hargreaves etc but there's barely anyone about atm. I'm assuming we are all ruling out Gareth Barry because of (allegedly) european ambitions. If Chelsea are having a clear out i'd be tempted to try and get Mikel.
  24. Rumour, a likely one though.
  25. I think we have found where SSN got their source.
