Need Blackburn to beat Bolton at home.

Taylor is widely regarded as one of englands best young prospects, end of. For all those idiots who think he is a geordie super hero, there are an equal amount of nobs who think he's shit. I'd like to think most of us agree he is somewhere in between.
-
Given Beye Taylor Faye Enrique Geremi Emre Milner N'Zogbia Martins Owen Sadly though, i'm convinced Zoggy will play at left back and Smith and Butt will retain places.
-
Anyone know when the application date is for season ticket holders?
-
Does anyone see any reason why our game won't be played on the weekend against Liverpool away?
-
If we are being realistic; Julio Arca (3.5m)- Very talented footballer, leadership qualities and versitile Wes Brown (0m)- Intelligent defender, seems to have got over his injury problems Deco (14m)- Class Bentley (15m)- No brainer Ashton (9m)- Another potential injury prone player but very good and adds a new dimention. Team; Given Beye Taylor Brown Arca Faye Deco Bentley N'Zogbia Martins Ashton Big question mark on whether someone like Deco would be realistic but we MUST keep our standard very high for a creative midfield player. Players such as Diego, VDV and Gudjohnsen would also be prefferable. Crouch, Carrick, Shorey etc should all be sounded out too.
-
Thats; Owen, Viduka, Martins, N'Zogbia, Milner, Emre, Taylor, Beye and Faye. I hope he does rate Faye but im not reading too much into it.

A foul is a foul, not always deliberate. Where as a dive is a deliberate attempt to con the game. If our players foul, i think they should be doing better. Where as if they dive i'm disgraced we have players like that in our squad....... unless they win a pen
-
Considering Brown is free and knows how to kick a ball, i wouldn't.
-
Even worse on Sunday. He's a competent centre half. But he's never a right back. Defender, not a footballer. Not realistic. Niether are several other names mentioned such as Yaya Toure, Diego, van der Vaart, Carrick and Dunne. it would be hard yes, but not neccicerially unrealistic if we say went on a bit of a run and finished top half, spent big in the summer, offered lyon 20 million, benzema 60K a week and offered him premiership football, a big stadium and 50=60millions worth of other new signings to play with. if he wanted to move to the prem i have a feeling it would be to liverpool, but its worth a shot. I'm sorry mate but we should not be spending 20m on young french "starlets". I'd rather spend that on Bentley who ticks all the boxes and has prem experiance. Benzema might be good but FAR too risky at that price.

3 months of this stuff normally does my head in, do we really want to go in for 6 people? Definitely! More than 6 preferably. Our current squad is gash and needs a complete overhall. We need to sign at least 4 new midfielders, a backup left back, a backup right back and probably another striker. If we make wholesale changes we will fail. It has never worked and never will work. Like i said in the post above, half a dozen top players will make a better difference than 20 decent players.
-
I think the most important thing for our club is that we dont make wholesale changes. Yes we need real quality in certain areas but if we have to many out/in's it will not work. We need to select a handful of "Top class" players i.e Bentley and Deco etc, in the correct areas and combine that with the squad we have. That is the recipe for success. After this, you concentrate on getting good youngsters such as Barnes etc to add to the depth.

Brown for free. Bentley Carrick One of VDV, Diego or Deco Cut price Dunne If N'Zogbia leaves, then it should be abroad for 10m plus
-
Mike Ashley went through our turnstile at villa. Got everyone chantin "there's only one mike ashley". I also managed to get on sky. Shame we lost.
-
Look at who have played in their side consistantly, the only ones that stand out are Bentley and McCarthy, then i'm stuggling. These are sides who love to have viduka and emre. The problem isn't the players.
-
Got to disagree mate. I've seen quite a few sides come to SJP park and Man U are not one of the best. Liverpool are canny but the best i've seen was NAC Breda (obviously not from this league). 5-0 down and singing "always look on the bright side of life".
-
If we're relying on Viduka and Emre, we ARE fucked. Why? Who would you prefer in their place? well, this is the point. We didn't react to the fact we are struggling ? So you believe the reason we are struggling is solely down to the talent of the players? the reason we are struggling is fairly obvious mate. Not enough quality footballers, its as simple as that, particularly in midfield and up front. Do you believe Blackburn and West Ham have more quality in their sides? I cant think for a second that you believe that. Therefore, why are they further up the league and out of the relegation places?
-
Exactly. These are the people who have got us into the trouble in the first place.

I hate the phrase "relegation scrap", it sort of says that it's no longer a game of football. No side has stayed in this league by "scrapping", they have stayed in by playing football. If we are going to stay in this league we need to be the best football side we can. Players like Viduka, Emre and N'Zogbia over Smith, Butt etc everyday of the week.
-
Thank fuck for that eh. Hopefully by next weekend him or martins will be upfront with owen.
-
I dont think Butts had a good season at all. The only thing Butt can do better than Geremi is tackle but DM is more about getting into the right places to sniff out the danger, than tackling as such.
-
Geremi should not be picked over Beye. However, i'd think about playing him in DM for various reasons. His abilty to keep the ball and play a good pass is better than most.
-
Pace is the wrong word to be fair. It's his ability to have a snap shop at goal. Smith doesn't even look at the goal in a game, where as Martins would shoot from 40 yards if it dropped right. Whilst he does have the ability to have snap shots, I think his pace is more of a worry to the opposition. He has genuine pace, and the ability and willingness to go past his man. Something that is lacking in the rest of our forward line and it's that pace that creates space for others when he goes on runs (With or without the ball). He certainly posesses that pace. With Owen and Martins in the side the threat is there, regardless of whether people think Owen has lost it. They are also both good in the air.
