  1. He looks a combination of more relaxed; like he actually wants to be on the pitch; and more assertive. None of which could really have been said about him last season. Completely different role helps. First time he's played this position from the outset. He also has the advantage of everyone assuming he is shite. Opposition might underestimate him a touch.
  2. Joelinton's around game is better because he isnt being relied on for goals. He can play his game now.
  3. Burnley being outplayed by Brucies boys. That's grim if you are Burnley.
  4. No width to us. Which is bad since our best player is out wide.
  5. Maybe I'm deluding myself but it cant be 442, man.
  6. Its 433 according to the lad who gets the team sheet right every week
  7. At least he has finally worked out we need 3 midfielders.
  8. Who is suggesting he isn't good like? I supposed I should have asked, is this a purple patch?
  9. Most of his goals are poachers goals. I'm not knocking him though, just wondering where he ranks. Is he better than Ings? Who can score out of nothing.
  10. At what point do we have to seriously consider him a good player? Or is he just in the form of his life in a side that's creating chances for him.

    Transfer rumours

File under Rose, Danny and Jones, Phillip. If you cant find them, they are next to Carroll, Richie and Shelvey in the who's who of British has beens.
  12. What was that conference which all the top managers go to, that Rafa was involved in?
  13. It's bad enough having Shelvey who is half a midfielder playing but most sides have 3. That makes it 1 and half vs 3 central midfield players. At worst you must bring Miggy/Joelinton in behind Wilson to drop back and help out the midfield. You cannot, in any circumstances play a straight 442 in this league. You will get overwhelmed by worse sides with smarter tactics.
  14. Managers like Potter set the the tone on their first day. He will have a set of training drills he does that are specifically to do with retaining possession. He will have also have layed out exactly how he wants his side to set up, in terms of formation and in terms of where to press the ball etc. That's what Bruce doesnt get, he thinks it's a switch you push from defence to attack, he thinks the most crucial part is team selection and motivation. He's an analogue manager living in a digital age, refusing to believe that football is any different to when he used to play, 442, get down the wings, real men, proper players. Ask Steve Bruce what identity his sides have? He just doesnt understand the question.

    Joelinton

If it helps Kaka, I certainly dont think Joelinton is the first player who should be criticised. Carroll, Richie and Shelvey are particularly holding us back at the moment.
