Definitely not a popular opinion but I don't really mind Martin O'Neill. There was a time when he was extremely highly rated as a manager and he's certainly got a decent knowledge of the game. He's a bit of an old dinosaur but id have him as a pundit over a chancer like Merson or Pardew any day of the week.

I do suspect our lack of activity hasn't come as a great shock to Rafa. Let's hope this meeting is a chance to kick them up the arse.

Changes for the Belgium game should be Cahill for Maguire, Rashford for Sterling and Rose for Young. Keep everything else the same. Beat Belgium and take momentum into the last 16, which should be fairly favourable either way. Once you are in the quarter finals you can't expect any easy games but we should have nowt to fear.

I must confess, I was watching Mitro the other day and questioned our ability to replace him with the money we are likely to get for him. Say we get 20m for him, I can't see any way in which we will get someone clearly better and I don't even rate him that highly. I would be surprised if a "bigger" club doesn't come in for him. He would be an attractive option for anyone in a so called lesser league. Roma, Porto, someone like that.

I think you guys are over thinking things. Rafa just doesn't rate his game high enough IMO, coupled with a questionable temperament. Rafa wants someone with pace who can run the channels, like Torres used to do. Mitro Mitro is never going to do that.
