  1. As much as i agree with your assesment, we know JK will pick Duff. However, i think Jonas will start.
  2. Jonas in centre midfield? Erm no thanks. Oddly enough Butt getting injured is an amazing bit of luck, fills me with confidence going into todays game. I firmly believe Guthrie and Barton to be the best CM's at the club. With Jonas back we will create chances as he opens games up.
  3. Absolutely. We are very much a club that needs galvanised a, "shearer" would do that IMO. Still think Bilic would be canny like.
  4. The big difference being, of course, that we have FAR better players, our results are down to the fact that the club has an interim manager (of average ability) and is in the middle of being sold. A new manager and new set up COULD change everything.
  5. Aye, i would like to see a few enquiries into the likes of Rikaard, Mancini and Houiller but if we were going for English there are only two choices IMO.
  6. Shearer, Lee and Speed trio In all seriousness, i'm not daft enough to think that there wouldn't be the usual concerns over whether he's got the experiance etc. I just believe we are in a time where we need a long term goal, dare i say similar to Sunderland and Shearer would be a great choice IMO.
  7. One thing i will say is that if Keegans pet lip has returned and he decides he does not want to return to the club, then there are plenty of excellent managers out there. Mind you Shearer would be second on my list.
  8. Are they playing with fire tho if they do that. I mean they could nip this whole KK thing in the bud from the off by going in a different direction. Agree but its our own fualt, they way we all raved about KK and the kick off when he left. Any new buyer will think its what every fan wants and that he is the only man for the job. I suppose one thing if he did come back we would be safe this season, we missed the KK team talk on Saturday. Aye missed that team talk. I just feel the possible new owners would have looked at the KK situation and thought "fck that, he has way to much power and influance" Yeah you could be right there, he does have a lot of say with the way he is loved BUT he will also get much longer than any other manager if things do not go right. No owner wnats to be chopping and changing managers because the fans are not happy. I am guessing though Keegan and Shearer will be the top 2 names that will be looked at first. Whoever it is has a massive decsion to make. Not sure what I would do TBH. Best thing would to be to offer KK a free hand at the club and see run the first team football side. We will give you a yearly budget to pruchase players. You can pick the first team coaches but we will manage the youth system. This has always been the way it should have been done. The only thing i wouldn't expect/allow KK to control to be the youth set up. He should be in full control of the rest.
  9. Due dilligence is always the thing that seems take time during takeovers, so if that's out of the way hopefully the rest will be a case of getting it done. I have no doubt that the "seven parties" that were touted will have depleted by now. Hopefully with 2-3 serious contenders looking to buy. For the record it would not suprise me if one of those was the group that pulled out of the Charlton takeover.
  10. The one time Duff really looked like a class player was when the game was opened up and he was allowed to run in space. He was by no means poor yesterday but i still prefer N'Zogbia because of his raw pace and ability to run at people. I hope he rings the changes on tuesday but i have a feeling it will be all the wrong players who are left out and all the usual culprits will remain. If we don't beat West Brom then i'm going to really start to worry.
  11. We MUST score first in this game and see it through.
  12. Given Beye Taylor Coloccini Enrique Guthrie Barton Geremi Jonas Duff Martins 3-0
  13. Can i be the first to say; 1. Well done Sunderland, it's been 28 years. 2. Full praise to our boys, no lack of effort or passion from them, it just wasn't our day. If this was a Sunderland forum and had just lost we would hear moans and groans, i don't expect it from you boys, keep your heads held high!
  14. Half time: Given- 7 Nowt to do really Beye- 7 Dealt with the threat of their left Taylor- 6 At fault but not terrible so far Coloccini- 7 Won alot again, couple of fouls. Bassong- 5 Sloppy Geremi- 7 ANOTHER assist, his importance to our side must be recognised, our biggest threat. Butt- 7Worked hard Guthrie- 7 Same as above Duff- 7 Looked good but got greedy, needs to help out bassong Martins- 7 Lively Shola- 8 Causing problems
  15. Given Beye Coloccini Taylor Bassong Butt Guthrie Geremi Duff Martins Ameobi Expected TBH. C'mon the lads.
  16. Dwight Yorke in midfield for them. Jones doesn't start for them. Diouf and Cisse up front, dangerous.

Got a feeling the lad is going to be class. Surely he's worth having as a impact player from the bench. He will at least be better than Carrol was against City.
  18. Cisse? Colo will have him in his pocket. Blind optimisim has set.
  19. If that's the case then Elton John must have been the greatest talent England has ever produced. Bravo!
  20. I've always said "the bigger the arsehole, the better the footballer"
  21. I'm actually extremely calm, almost too calm. Can't wait to get into the bastards mind! Martins will score.
  22. read his book. Apparently he used to stick up for his mates against lads much bigger than he was when he was young, and invariably won. Hate to say this but we've no idea who would have won if he had managed to get to Shearer that day he lost his rag Fair do's but i heard stories about Shearer doing similar things when he was at school. Apparently as a lad Shearer couldn't be moved.
  23. And Jonas is back. Aye, magic stuff. Doubt he will start though.
