I lookk at it the other way around. If we lose we could drift from the group, especially with Chelsea next.
-
Have a look at the pre match thread. Most people had the same line up as Kinnear.
-
Pathetic. I can't help wanting to blame Nicky Butt for some reason. I'm not watching the game but i have a strong feeling he's having a shocker.
-
The game will just need a tackle or something to up the tempo. If we get a goal, i think we will win.
-
This on the radio? Both century and radio newcastle sound like they have the mackem game on?
-
Bramble on form is exactly the type of defender that'll upset Martins to be honest. Oba always seems to lay better against the less physical, more game reading types "Bramble on form" Our luck must be really out? If Martins runs at Bramble there will only be one outcome TBH. Never mind if Jonas runs at him.

Bramble vs Martins *Drools*

We should be beating that lot TBF.
-
Great if Zaki, Kirkland and Heskey aren't fit.
-
Our best player when fit. In terms of being a matchwinner, yes.
-
Make no mistake, our upturn in form last season was down to Viduka returning. Very good player.
-
Kinnear has shown that he does make alot of decent simple choices, which alot of others have failed to do. To bring Bassong into the team would be the correct thing to do. Given Beye Coloccini Bassong Enrique Butt Barton Jonas Duff Martins Ameobi 3-0
-
That's embarrasingly inaccurate. Sure we are not "too good", but to say that we are a "good shout" is equally stupid. We have a better squad than most of the bottom half. I think even under Kinnear we will pick up enough points at home.
-
By the way, i'm hoping these tactics are temporary, as well as the manager.
-
Those tactics beat Villa and West Brom, as well as getting draws against Everton and Man City. I'm not suggesting you don't have some valid points, infact you do but the tactics have worked for us.
-
Dare i say, if Taylor had been playing we would have got something today. We actually missed him today.
-
Alot of Kneejerks as usual. Disapointed to have lost but it wasn't so long ago that we would have been spanked by even this lot. We have had two good wins at home against better footballing sides than fulham. We must go and beat Wigan, which i believe we will. Despite today's set back i still believe we are improving.

Im just curious.. are you saying you would like Hangeland based on 45 minutes, how often do you see Fulham play? have you seen alot of their matches? And Dave.. have you seen Dyers goals and assists. Duff scored more goals this season already than Dyer in the majority of his full seasons here. No, based on my opinion of him throughout this season and last, as well as his ability in their air. They would complement each other very well in my opinion. It was just topical, that's why i said it now.

I don't believe in half time subs, give it 5 mins then bring him on.
-
Set a standard that's all.
-
The whole game needs a kick up the arse. Fulham are very well organised and i'd love to see Hangeland along side Coloccini. Butt and Barton need to get in the game and Jonas needs to get his greyhound legs back. When he picks the ball up and runs he's a real threat but hasn't done so today. We still have our trump card- Owen.

Has ALOT of technical ability, not convinced he has a great footballing brain though. I always believe centre midfielders live or die by their production at one end or the other. Over his career Guthrie needs to be able to do one of three things IMO. To regain/retain the ball and become a holding player (Makelele, Speed). To score goals from midfield (Lampard, Scholes) Or create chances and become a playmaker (Gerrard) At this moment, Guthrie shows none of those "special" qualities, time will tell. Personally, i think we would have some success if a manager coached him into the holding role, as Bobby did with Speed.

Was delighted to see his name on their teamsheet. Did everything i expected him to.

Got my last 3 prediction correct so i'll say... Newcastle 3-0 Martins 2 Barton
