Thank god, next chance to us.
-
thats the most riddiculous thing i've read all week. Ok. Na man Owens shite
-
Keep faith in Owen and Viduka. Duke coming on changes the game anyway and hopefully he can play in Owen.
-
Owen can be a predator for the full 90. Vids must come on like.
-
1-3 to Bolton hahahaha
-
Sounds like we are the better side?
-
I love it when martins is in the mood.
-
They have anton ferdinand centre back. Martins hit the bar.
-
Fog? We are playing at Boro FFS
-
Thats all we need to do away from home TBH. Hope to hit teams with a bit of quality at some point in the game and we do have the players to do it. I'd be suprised if we don't score but i'd also be suprised if we kept a clean sheet.

Thompson "Colloccini and bassong look very good" Fucking hell.

Wearing turtle necks under their tops, however that thought did go through my mind. I can just imagine the young wanabees turning up on a sunday with their scarves packed in their bootbags, as if it's the new craze.

I'd be tempted to test the Jonas in the centre theory but not in the middle of a season. Those sort of things are meant for pre-season or even the last 20 mins of a match (such as coventry away or such). IMO he has certainly looked at his best, whilst out on the left. The only problem is that Kinnear and co have their shamrock tinted specs on when it comes to Duff.
-
Thank you for pointing that out. I'm well and truely sick of people suggesting Jonas in the centre. For the record i'd be looking to play him on the left and buying a right winger. Valencia would be nice. I dont like having inbalanced wing attacks, if Jonas plays on the left then i think we should look to buy a player who cuts in as well for the right. That gives us an extra dimension on the wing. It worked with Ginola/Gillespie

The only change i see happening is possibly Taylor for Bassong, which i disagree with so...... Given Beye Coloccini Bassong Enrique Butt Guthrie Jonas Duff Owen Martins 2-2
-
Let's hope he doesn't tire as badly this week. Hasn't had a chance to in recent weeks. Kinnear keeps bringing him off. I can see Shola coming on for Martins, which wouldn't be too bad late on.
-
See things out until half time, would be nice.
-
Given Beye Coloccini Bassong Enrique Butt Guthrie Jonas Duff Owen Martins Owen to sit in the hole acting as a 5th midfielder. Balls over the top catching them on the break with the pace of Jonas and Martins.

Guardian: Shearer clears way to become Newcastle manager
STM replied to thewellander's topic in Football
First of all, no chance in Shearer becoming manager before a takeover is complete, for various reasons that have already been mentioned. Secondly, i'm not a believer in the "he needs experiance" theory. Mainly because there alot of "experianced" managers who are awful and alot of young managers who are very good (southgate, keane). I also think that if he were to manage any other clubs, it gives our fans a chance to see his flaws as a manager and therefore he would join a long list of blokes who wouldn't stand a chance of doing a good job because he would be written off before he had joined the club (which happens time after time). There are alot of positives to having Shearer as manager, such as his ability to galvanise the club, his knowledge of the place, his ability to attact players (and keep players r.e Owen) as well as his automatic backing form the fans (rightly or wrongly). Added to this his appointment would add a long term vision to the club, which we need to stabilise everything. In terms of possibility, i believe this to be the most likely outcome. If Shearer has decided he ready for the job, the chances are the new owners will not overlook him. Which puts him in a very strong position. Mind you alot of that depends on who buys the club and their knowledge of football. God forbid if they haven't heard of him. -
Lee Clark equalised that day. Things aren't that bad
