Aye, not that they mean much if a bigger fish comes in though. Surely if there's a contractual agreement in place though? I guess then the player cna just worm his way out of it.. This.

Tonight! Bloody hell. Of course loans don't take half the time of permenant transfers.

We could do with getting him through the door first By the sounds of it he has agreed to join us, sure these things can go pearshaped but i doubt it. If i'm wrong i'll hold my hands up like.

He could be an intergral part to our team next year. We could do with one more of his calibre though

What's pleasing is that it seems he has chosen to join us above other teams (probably because we are an english club) and this, above all else, is the reason why we will sign him. I hope he can be in the starting 11 for our first home game, as Hughton won't throw him in at OT ahead of other players and he's right not to.

Would be by far our best option.

Guthrie does all the basics right, good control, excellent passing and his shooting technique is immaculate judging from the goals he's scored. However, his biggest problem (like most young midfielders) is that he needs to find his role in our team, a team that is going to have it's back against the wall next year. If he gets stuck out on the wings, then he has no chance of producing what his ability is capable (apart from the odd decent cross). On the other hand if he is to play in the centre, what role is he to be given and more specifically who is going to be his partner? It's a tricky decision because as of yet he hasn't shown what his best asset is, whether it be sitting deep or getting fully involved in the attacking play. I think is that his best games for us have been when he has been playing further up the field, in a probing role (i seem to remember a cup game when he scored?) but i'm not sure whether he's done enough to give him that role permenantly and i suspect Hughton thinks the same.
  12. Best looks a different animal, incredible. I like to see a forward snarl at the ref.
  13. He's not even a striker and if he was it would be unwise to catagorise a player in that way. From what i've seen, he's an intelligent attacking midfield player with good feet.
  14. I have a hunch that Cleverley has been lined up for months. I think Fergy just wanted him (and Welbeck) to join the squad in the US to remind them that they are still part of the club. The second he gets back he will join either us or another premiership relegation contenter. I hope we can get him, he'd be a great addition for us.
  15. If i knew Colo had the confidence, then i would make him captain (or perhaps it works the other way around) but other than that it should be given to Nolan.
  16. The terms target man, poacher, forward, number 10 striker, as well as, box to box and play maker are all non-sense catagories in which we try to group various footballers in order to make the system of selecting teams a bit easier. The truth on the subject is that footballers (in fact human beings) are all very different from one another.
  17. I think Colo and Campbell could be a brilliant, even at Campbell's age. I think we'd have one of the best back four's of a bottom half side?

What have we learned? That agents are dodgy, slippery bastards. Everton were stupid to let this happen regardless.
  19. As managers? Can't see anything else realistically unless they both fail spectacularly somewhere. Clarky's career is really taking off, so who knows what will come about for him but Speedo is yet to manage a club so he might fancy a go at coaching up here (in fact i'm sure he'd loved to return in some capacity). Either way, in the day that Hughton leaves/is sacked i'd far prefer to give one of these guys a chance, than other more "experianced" managers, who will be turned into fodder at our club.
