How can two people be at "war" if they haven't even talked in months (which isn't a problem)? How can KK be "on the brink" if Mort said about 48 hours ago that KK WILL be backed in the transfer market? And for those who don't understand how the media works in england, when they say "showdown talks", they actually mean talks. The way i read it is KK and Mort are going to meet for talks about next season, that's all.

Agree with all of this. I always go under the philosophy that we should aim higher rather than lower, thats what annoys me about his comments. He know like everyone that the squad is not top 4 quality BUT that's where he should be aiming for, then when we fall short everyones still happy. BTW the top four isn't a million miles away. It was only a couple of weeks ago that people were talking about Everton vying for 4th and IMO we have better players than them.

Asking price is supposed to be £12m despite him being unwanted at Valencia who are struggling for cash. Bit steep. He's very talented but hasn't been as good this season as he was in his last loan spell, he started very slowly probably due to a lack of fitness/games. I still think he can be one of the top midfielders around if he ups his workrate and application a bit. We have enough application here mate, think he'd be a canny signing for us. I'd also take Crouch here. One of the most underrated players in the league. He'd become a cult hero here.

Football has trends, just like every other part of life. Right now it's going through a trend of the top four being domenant but fear not. There will be a time when Fergy leaves Man Utd, Wenger leaves Arsenal, Abramovich does one and Chelsea don't have the money to compete because of their shit fan base and liverpool goes tits up (oh wait). Sadly this era is the top four era and it's a touch irritating but things WILL change, just depends how long.
