  1. you're wrong about Taylor. agree, lots of people on here are saying Taylor isnt very good He will eventually brake into englands starting 11 within 2-3 seasons also he is young and doesnt make many mistakes anymore anyone actually watching Taylor play, on and off the ball, can see that he has removed a lot of the problems he caused himself in the past, even as recently as the start of last season. he's a first team starter for me, shoudl have been captain as well, above Geremi, who can't even be given the excuse of being new to the PL for soem of his dismal showings so far. Come on...Taylor is OK but captain...Please he is JUST A KID you know... Better - in my opinion - than the current captain. and in fact, the best option for captain we had apart from Lil' Mikey. Personally i think Barton would make a good captain.
  2. He's the boy alright. blueyes.gif Told yous And the best is yet to come, although there are a few things that we won't like around the corner. Mick, aye, it will be very interesting to see how he handles a bigger budget and what kind of players he'll go for. I think if the money is available he'll be in for Diouf in January, look to offload Ameobi, will maybe listen to offers for Martins and spend big on a more mobile striker to fill the role Viduka currently occupies in the forward 3. He's no Hitzfeld, though... He's not but he has the ability to be as good a manager as he is, although achieving the levels of success Hitzfeld has will be a tall order for most regardless of their ability. In my defence Big Sam was second on my list to Hitzfeld as ideal managers to take over and I'd have been equally as delighted had we appointed him then as we have done now. I badly wanted Hitzfeld because, well, he has that pedigree few have, that class, but on reflection I'm not so sure he would have been the right man for the job after all, not at that given time anyway, the club was in more mess than we all imagined and for a foreign manager who would bring huge expectations due to his name and CV, that could be a potential minefield. Great manager though and any club worth their salt should aspire towards such managers to lead them. How are Bayern doing btw under him again? I'm happy with Sam and for once I can say with certainty we have a very very good manager running the show once again which is all that matters. Good post, SA is definately the right man imo. Im praying the fans dont get on his back once our honeymoon period is over, It could take a few season for us to see the full effects of what SA is trying to achieve. Villa is a prime example imo last season they started off well but when the honeymoon was over they started to draw a few and even lost a few and Brummie always said he was happy because he could see a vast improvemnet. When we do hit a bad patch and it will happen i think its important that we stick with SA and give him full backing
  3. this. Then he'd inevitable start thinking about raising his profile through (different) club football. Didnt the French FA try and tell the under 21's and senior squad not to pick Zoggy because of the way he left Le Harve. Im sure they were really pissed at us and him for the way he left and Le Harve didnt even get much money.
  4. People are just commenting on whats happend so far, Spurs were praised to high heaven through out the transfer window and nearly everyday we were told how they are amazing and they will beat Arsenal to 4th place. Im happy the wheels are falling off tbh, Im not totally writing Spurs off i think they have a good strike force and on their day they can be a match for anyone but they seem to be turning up expecting the other team to let them win.
  5. They've got good defenders tbh, Jol's just useless at organising the team to defend a lead.. King and Chimbonda are good but the rest aint that good, Dawson is utter shit. Alot has been said about Bale but defensively he is very average, Going forward he is very good and in time i can see him becoming a regular LW player.
  6. You're wrong Kaka...Spurs and thier 'planning' is light years ahead of us.. I think of that lot Everton look to me the strongest. We will get a lot better over the coming weeks. Spurs have been terrible imo, Defensively they are poor and very weak in midfield. Jol is very poor tactically, After the game yesterday i thought he looked like a broken man and you can tell the pressure is effecting him. The problem with Spurs is that they read in the paper that Mouriniho saying they are title contenders and the papers saying they will break the top 4 and the whole club fully believe it when in reality they aint ready.
  7. where's that from? Looking forward to seeing him, think it could be that spark we need in the middle. That's from Physioroom.com, and is purely based on the original estimate. Be a while yet imo. Yea i cant see SA playing Barton until he is fit, Like he did with Owen. Slowly ease him into games until he is fully fit and ready, He'll probably play a few reserve games
  8. Anyone remember Nufc v Fulham a few seasons back? We battered Fulham but couldnt score, Fulham have 4 shots and 4 goals. It wasnt till the very end Bellamy managed to score but by then it was to late.
  9. Maybe a bit of a knee jerk post but it seems the top 4 might be finding it a bit harder going away to games now, I might be wrong because i wasnt really concentrating on the match but imo Villa kinda played like the away team they soaked up pressure and then hit them on the break, It seems the best tactic against the top 4 because most managers would be happy with a point so the main aim is not to concede. Villa looked decent today, Very organised.
  10. Whats Smith like at taking Pens?
  11. Tbf Dein doesnt even mention Newcastle, The paper couldnt get a name out of him so they just added us and made a bullshit comment after it. I cant see Spurs being sold either didnt Levy's company just buy alan sugar's shares for £25m?
  12. I havent seen a thread on it so i thought i'd start one. Doesnt anyone know how big our backroom staff is? There hasnt been much news about new personnel but against Boro Mark Taylor was our medic who came onto the pitch when a player got injured. I didnt even know we had got him yet, When he did come on im sure the commentary said he was just 1 of a number of Boton staff who made the journey to the N.East. Did anyone else hear that?
  13. Allardyce will get money if he needs it and if we're in a position to take the club into the UEFA or even better if we're in 5th place come January. I have no doubt that he will be backed if and when he asks for money, especially as Ashley seems to be turning up on a regular basis. Was Ashley at the game today? Yes, he went crackers when we scored an' all. Good, I think he will catch the Nufc bug.
  14. Same here i used to get nervous when a team was attacking us just because i wasnt confident with our defence, It used to really piss me off when the pundits or commentary would say "With this defence you know they will gift you a chance atleast once". I know its only 5 games in but so far we look solid and with the expierence and leadership in defence im confident that when we go 1-0 up we can hold on and not buckle like we have become a custom too.
  15. Allardyce will get money if he needs it and if we're in a position to take the club into the UEFA or even better if we're in 5th place come January. 16. Much better than last season when the likes of Bramble or Carr would just hoof it up the field, It pisses me right off when defenders just hack at the ball even thou they aint under pressure.
  17. TBF i think we created a lot today we just couldnt finish, Things weren't happening for us but lucky enough we managed to convert a chance right at the end. On any other day i think we would of had a few goals but for now im happy with that single goal and im soooo happy it was Owen who got it. One thing im loving so far about the SA era is the shape and discipline of the team, Under Souness and Roeder our team looked so unorganised and with no game plan that it got embaressing and painful to watch. I know its early days but its been a long time since the defence has looked so confident and strong and from what i have seen im very impressed. I think we are still on our honeymoon period under SA so it will be interesting to see if we can bonce straight back after a defeat.
  18. I know what you mean, but I think we're due someone outside Chelsea, Man United and perhaps even Arsenal winning it Fancy a wager? No chance in hell of that happening for at least another 3 or 4 years, and that's being wildly optimistic. Wasnt spurs title contenders when the league started Reality soon hit them 5 games in.
  19. So far Liverpool have been the most impressive of the top 4, I hope to god Liverpool dont win the league
  20. We'll win Lot of premiership clubs have drawn each other. Sam knows how to beat Arsenal
  21. Im very happy with the transfer window, Its amazing what has happend over the past few months. Last season i was worried about premiership survival but this season im hoping for top 6 finish. When SA took over i was looking forward to the transfer window because of his success at Bolton but i never thought he would of sorted out the defence in 1 window. Im hoping we will be a lot better at defending set pieces now.
  22. For the people who watched it, Did Zoggy and Enrique link up well? With Zoggy coming back into form i hope he is given a good run in the team as LW.
