  1. Just plucked a few figures from the internet of other clubs revenue. Man Uniteds new sponsorship dael was for £56.5m over 4 years (£14.1m per year). Chelseas is worth £20m pper year. We are currently 5th in the Premier league sponsors at around £5m per year with Northern Rock Man Uniteds Nike deal was worth £300m over 13 years, Nike pay Brazil £7m per year for their contract. Our Adidas contract is currently worth about £5m per year. Our TV money is around the £30m mark, Real Madrid have just agreed a £700m TV deal over 7 years (£100m per year) on top of their Champions league money. Man United brought in £20m in merchandising in 2002/03 (no definition of merchandise). In the same year we brought in £8m So there's some obvious ares for growth before even looking at sponsoring the stadium etc.
  2. Not that we'd get anywhere near this much, but Real Madrid are about to sign a 7 year £700m ($1.1billion) dollar TV deal ontop of the Champions League TV money. (in todays FT) £100million a year, even at 10% I'd have some of that
  3. Bridge Neill Campbell Ashton D Bent
  4. Considering we've signed in the past few years Marcelino Ferguson Dyer Bellamy Woodgate Babayaro It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Chuckle Brothers did our medicals
  5. Surley even if the Halls sell today its not going to be all over and done in time for the transfer window? they would effectively loan the club the money prior to the takeover going through
  6. Did Andreas Anderson and Tommason play together? Or Guivarch and Anderson?
  7. For audit partners aye, nice earner. For audit staff its a right royal pain in the backside. Especially when you don't get overtime so you do all the extra work, bring in the extra fees and see nothing for it. Bitter? Moi?
  8. Nah, I think that's just saying there are 133m 5p shares in issue. It's probably just registering the fact that Belgravia are in negotiations with the shareholders, which we already know. There's a huge amount of pointless paperwork that goes with being listed on the stock exchange Keeps me in a job. Sarbanes-Oxley? Take that back! Another thing to thank our Yank cousins for

  10. Settle down mate 'twas just a joke, no need to get agro, even if you are going to lose the ashes this summer. 'twas just a joke, Ashes are being played in the winter this year mate
  11. Why do they have to have the club at heart? If they gave tens of millions to spend, they could be self confessed Mackems for all I care. Who is to say that they will inject millions!? they may just wish to buy the club and offer to the club what FS does and make a little profit for themselves in the long run If they put in as much as 'Fred' - assuming the same cash base - but the decision making is better and forward thinking they will be onto a goodun for me
  12. Well Arsenal got £100m for 15 years - £6.6m a year. Guess we'd be looking for something similar. Considering we will tend to pay for players in installments a similar deal would probably be worth a one off £20m kitty every 5 years
  13. The bar should be set at Ranieri. It should have been set there after Souness. The guy said he would like the job, thats as far as our sights should have lowered
  14. £5m I'd reckon until we become a regular UEFA semifinalist or Champs leage knock outs then up to about £10m
  15. I prefer the 'Newcastle Belgravia' myself, sounds reet posh lyke
  16. read it again, I've acknowleged that - and added a curren texample where this hasn't prevented a club getting income from a redevelopment where the council own the land. From what I gather we do own the Metro land though
  17. There was talk that a fast route to money making was to move the ground. If the ground is developed into lodgings, the area is prime city centre. The ground could then be moved outside of the city to a cheaper location. Initially this costs a bit but city centre apartments are going to bring in money quickly, Its a possibility, and not completely debunked by the fact that the council own the land under St James. My local Rugby team (Llanelli Scarlets) are looking to move grounds, they are in debt of £39m and ther new stadium is costing £20m. The council own the land under Stradey park but the proposed deal wipes out the debt and covers the new stadium as the procedes of the land sale are strucutred to go to both parties. Remember the club owns the land over the metro station as well, this too could be developed
  18. Possible avenues of increased profit over than those mentioned: - sponsor SJP- merchandising - football rights & spinoffs - restructure debts - cost savings on directors salaries - cost savings on players wages/transfer fees - brand exploitation The most effective & best way of increasing revenue is success on the pitch as you say. More TV coverage & CL footy. They'll have a plan to make money that's for sure, like the Glaziers, who knows if it's to the detriment of the club or not. They may even have someone in mind to sell it on to for a quick buck Potentially £5m a year for that, more if the team start being a top 6 and more again for regular champs league football. If the buyers could also get some 5star hotels built in the city then you have the potential for UEFA finals and the World Cup in 2018 (assuming England get it) Chicken feed in the scale of things, but its an automatic 5% return p.a on the initial investment
  19. Don't worry. Bernard will get a few more 90 minute run-outs for the reserves while Baba's out. Hip injury (ronnie gill) also he aint a left back according to Anal (link in Arsenal team thread)
  20. Basically you are correct, the only way to make money is to make the playing side a success and cash in when TV rights become negotiated on a club by club basis - potentially forming a NUFC channel at £100-£200 per year on top of season tickets. It is likely that ticket prices will also rise slightly, but not so much as to price out fans. I can only imagine they are looking to make a modest annual income (say 5% of the investment) but cash in on increasing the value to the next buyer in 5 years or so. Or possibly longer if the actual buyer (i.e. not Belgravia who are a fron it seems) is a sports fan. There is the other option that it is a group of rich-ish blokes looking for a plaything that will give them a modest income for a while. Personally I don't think there is much to fear, but there is not much to suggest that we will become any richer than we are now
  21. Parker couldn't hold a candle to Batty, and I have to say Duffer, even at his best, is no Ginola... FACT! But for the majority of that season it was Clarkie in the middle with Bobby Lee, Batty made his debut v Man U if I remember correctly so it shoul dreally be Clark vs Parker
  22. Solano under SBR and Gillespie pre Phil Neville killing him at OT would be close. I'd go for Gillespie as he was my favourite player (bar Pav) of that team and his injury cost us the title, not the signing of Asprilla
  23. there's a canny young striker playing for Cardiff at the moment. His name escapes me for the moment though
