You had the player who was capable of pushing you into Europe but he got sold to Liverpool. Admittedly, Newcastle got a ridiculously high price for Carroll but the downside is you're going to be quoted ridiculously high figures for lesser players (at the present time) to replace him.

The average price I would guess is around £900 for adults. Top is £1695 but the cheapest is £650. The waiting list shot up when the first announcement for a new stadium was made, there were obviously going to be a lot of seats becoming available. Until Spurs say we stay at WHL and there will be no new stadium, I don't see the waiting list evaporating, and I am convinced that there will be a new stadium somewhere. I suppose whether the waiting list will drop off will depend on how much those waiting want a season ticket. Must have wanted them enough to pay just to get on the list. Levy Sounds like the best scam ever, bring in half a million a year and just keep stringing the move out. How long has this list been going? Been going for ages. That said, Levy knows he would get more by having seats for those with their names on the list.

Ipswich want £10m up front + add ons, which is probably why he hasn't been signed by anyone yet. A couple of months ago Ipswich played a behind closed doors friendly at Spurs (who don't run a reserve team) and with Ipswich's permission Wickham was shown around Spurs Lodge. Ipswich were saying then it was £10m upfront and I doubt their stance has changed. He has already been shown around Arsenal and for the record, Spurs won 5-2, Wickham played for about an hour, was pretty good by all accounts and scored 1 of Ipswich's goals.

Quite expensive? Extremely so I would say. Mine cost £1175 and that's not the dearest. The most expensive cost £1695 and we can expect a hike next season as the VAT increase gives Levy another excuse.................... Didn't know they were that bad, knew you had some ridiculous prices though. Tbf, those ST prices are seeing results on the pitch mind, if they weren't then I would guess more people would moan and Levy wouldn't get away with it. If we're paying top notch prices, we should get top notch performances, or at least the effort to try to achieve it. Spurs fans have a reputation for being fickle but at those prices, or up to £78 for a CAT A game, it's easy to understand why some will gripe when things are not going well. Personally, I won't slag the team off during a match but I will at the final whistle!

Oxlade-Chamberlain? No chance. Not with Man Utd/Arsenal sniffing. Bale was trying to convince him that Spurs would be a good destination. When he moves he will go to Arsenal. The fee is the only sticking point.

It is pretty tight given the surrounding buildings but I believe they have previously been given planning permission to expand to 40,000. They are only averaging just under 28,000 in a 35,000 capacity stadium as it is. Sorry Greg westham averaging 33k in a 35k stadium playing some of the worst football i've ever seen http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/attendance/_/league/eng.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=5901 Also spurs 'waiting list' is just memberships that gives you preference to games, saw they where advertising them online to give you a chance to get a ticket for the Milan game. Westham came out and said they had 17k waiting list was the same thing. pure propaganda. Hopelessly incorrect. Lilywhite membership gives preference to tickets for league and cup games, home and away, a few other bits and pieces, and costs £23 pa for adults or £10 pa seniors payable by Direct Debit. Bronze membership provides all the benefits of Lilywhite membership plus adding the member on to the Season Ticket waiting list. Bronze membership costs £38 pa for adults and £20 pa payable by Direct Debit, a charge of £15 pa for adults and £10 pa for seniors to be added to the Season Ticket waiting list. All prices go up by £5 if payment isn't made by Direct Debit. It's all on the Official website but I can't provide a link as you have to enter the site to get a working link. There's no disputing that people pay to be on the waiting list, the only point of possible contention would be whether Levy's declaration in the Bid Document that there were over 35000 on the waiting list. I wouldn't expect Levy to lie in official documentation and there were over 28000 on the list when the new WHL proposals were first announced. I have been told the list is just shy of 35200 but I can't verify that.

Within the Bid Document for the Olympic Stadium Levy said there is a waiting list of over 35000. Not going to bother to try and find the quotes but this is referred to in the BBC article produced when West Ham became the preferred bidders. There are certainly some who said they would no longer support the club if they moved to Stratford but there are many more than that who were keen to go to the Olympic Stadium so they could get the Season Ticket they can't currently get. Suppose it depends if you're a have or a have not. I've got a season ticket and I'd prefer to stay in North London, but if Spurs had moved to Stratford there's no way I would have jacked in my ticket on a point of principle. There would still be plenty willing to take my seat. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/9394545.stm

The 35000 on the waiting list pay £10 pa to be on the waiting list. Source? If i was the owner of a company whose demand was twice that of a possible supply, I'd up the prices of my product something incredible. Source? THFC Official Site. Actually it's £10 for seniors, £15 for adults. Please don't put ideas in Levy's head about jacking up the prices, we're already the second most expensive in the Premier League!!

Can't agree more, teams should have to stay where they started out. West Ham don't move to Stratford, Spurs stay in Tottenham, Arsenal are relocated back to Woolwich ....................

Charlie is still our 1st choice RB, competing with Walker next season. You can have Hutton instead, Ashley can agree a fee and I'll drive him up to you. Is he that bad? Attacking he is very good, defensively he is average at best, positionally he is abysmal. I don't think I've seen a player who can give away so many goals by being in the wrong place. Coloccini's goal against us at SJP was testament to that.

I don't think there's any need for a review. The idea of West Ham giving free admission or free season tickets to anyone is a certain recipe for Orient to go to the wall. Hearn says they will be gone within 3 years and that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. I've said all along that Orient are the only realistic tenants and I've heard nothing from anyone that would make me change my mind. I really hope they win this fight.

Niko is under contract until the summer of 2013.

Assuming they are still in the PL.

Seems like it will be the officially recommended option, rubber stamping by the Government and Boris Johnson should be a formality. The recommended option is officially unveiled tomorrow but everyone seems to think West Ham will get it. I've got no problem with that provided they keep the athletics track as included in their bid. The fairest option would have been to reduce the stadium, with athletics track, to 25000 capacity and give it to Leyton Orient. Their claim to it was always stronger than West Ham's or Spurs.
-
so how has the right decision been made ? Well, of the two realistic bids, West Ham's was the superior. So why do you want the athletic track to be removed? The only one that proposed removing the track was Spurs' bid. My guess is that within 5 years Wham will be talking about removing the athletics track. That said, I'm happy that Spurs have lost the bid (or so it seems). We're a North London club and that's where our new stadium will be built.

If Spurs and AEG get the Olympic Stadium I'm expecting AEG to buy out ENIC very soon after. There have been rumours for months of AEG buying out Spurs with Levy joining the AEG board and continuing to control Spurs. Always seemed possible if somewhat unlikely. I'd not be surprised if it did happen now. LONDON - Premier League Tottenham Hotspur and David Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy are planning closer ties that could lead to players crossing the Atlantic in both directions. Tim Leiweke, president of the American sports and entertainment giant AEG that owns the Galaxy and is bidding in partnership with Spurs to take over the London 2012 Olympic stadium after the Games, told reporters the two sides were forging a strategic alliance. "We have an existing relationship now with Tottenham where we are beginning to think outside the box on football and how we do things together on football," he said in a conference call from Los Angeles. "Whether that's David Beckham training (with Spurs) or maybe players from Tottenham coming to the Galaxy, playing games against each other. "Strategically you'll see more of an alliance between us and Tottenham long term," added Leiweke. Former England captain Beckham, 35, has been training with North London side Tottenham but hopes of a short-term loan deal during the Major League Soccer (MLS) close season have come to nothing. Leiweke said he wanted Beckham back in Los Angeles for the start of the season. "I am the one that made the decision in asking David to come back and play a full season in MLS because we haven't been able to do that, be it for loans or injury," he said. "Our commitment has been 'David, you need to be back here for the MLS season that begins in March'. "It is because we have asked for that commitment, and the timeline in Tottenham was such, that it was very difficult for them (Spurs) to figure out a way to integrate David into the team," he added. Leiweke said AEG had encouraged Beckham to go to Tottenham because of the relationship with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. "There are other examples of conversations we've had with Daniel in how to take that kind of cooperation and now extend it to our team in the United States," he added. "You are going to hear more about that in the future but part of what has been created here is a strategic alliance between AEG and Tottenham on thinking about how we can be involved in Tottenham the football club."

All of this. And Wishere "in the Makelele role"? I can barely contain my excitement. I'm a Spurs fan and even through my blue and white glasses I can see there's a lot more to Wilshere than that.

Neither of the proposals propose an athletics only stadium. That was the original offer made to UK Athletics and they declined to take up the option as they wanted the Government to provide £15/20m pa subsidy to maintain the stadium and that wasn't forthcoming. Very simply, UK Athletics are not in a financial position to take on the upkeep the Olympic Stadium legacy. The West Ham proposal offers athletics use of the stadium approximately 40 days a year, the Spurs proposal offers athletics a fully functional 25000 seater state of the art athletics stadium 365 days a year, that would be a fully refurbished Crystal Palace and not the Olympic Stadium. Spurs are also offering annual sponsorship for 20 elite athletes. I don't want the club to move to Stratford but it's very difficult to suggest that West Ham's athletics legacy is better than Spurs' alternative. 40 days against 365? Sponsorship or no sponsorship? No brainer imo even if it's not the option I want taken up.
-
It's not so much lack of athletic legacy as they'll be redeveloping the Crystal Palace athletic park. I think a big part of the resentment regarding Spurs' proposal (apart from geography which you mentioned) is the colossal waste of demolishing a brand new stadium to build a brand new stadium. In this era of environmentalism, does the Spurs bid contain even a fig leaf re recycling building materials et al? Not a fig leaf, most of it to be accurate. Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Tuesday Levy explained that the changes Spurs intend to make to the stadium have been greatly exaggerated. “The reality is that of the £500m that has been spent on that site we are demolishing approximately £80m and recycling and reusing most of that,” Levy said. “The rest of it is all being utilised. “With regards to the difference between the possible scheme at Tottenham and Stratford, I don’t want to go into too much detail here, because it’s a very complicated matter. All I would say is that Stratford is where we wsiteant to go and I’m determined to do whatever it takes to get us there.” The full interview is available on the Talksport website.

Totally agree. West Ham value at over £15m. And they say the 2 Davids know what they're doing.
-
West Ham won't sell Carlton Cole for less than £10m irrespective of which league they're playing.
