  1. The good news is Spurs are talking with Sao Paolo's Brazilian u20 international midfielder Carlos Henrique Casemiro. who would apparently cost €5m. The bad news is so are Barcelona. On Twitter Casemmiro said............... Casemiro (Sao Paulo): "Interest Barcelona and Tottenham? My agent can think about negotiations, I think about my team."
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 went this window with Parker coming in. Triffic!
  3. Sunderland have apparently enquired about Huddlestone.
  4. He's a s**** manager though. He was highly thought of as a coach at Spurs, they were sorry to see him go when he took his first managerial position at Northampton.
  5. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/modric-changes-tack-after-spurs-stand-firm-over-chelsea-interest-2299988.html Joorabchian's involvement was being mooted on saturday and cleaning up Modric's position is well under way apparently .......... taken out of context, lost in translation etc etc. I've never doubted that Modric would not be allowed to leave and I'm still as confident now.
  6. Levy had a meeting with Modric and his agent this morning, they were told he will not be sold under any circumstances. The Club statement was issued following that meeting.
  7. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/world-cup-2010/7891632/Sepp-Blatter-given-embarrassing-nickname-on-World-Cup-award.html Sepp Blatter, the Fifa president, received an award from the South African government under an unwelcome nickname after his Wikipedia entry was apparently sabotaged. The 74-year-old was recognised with the Order of The Companions of O R Tambo for his contribution over the World Cup. However, an official website announcing the accolade referred to the Swiss as “Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter”. It is thought that Blatter’s profile on Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, was targeted by pranksters who altered his name, which was then copied onto the government website. Both websites have since been amended, removing the reference to Bellend, which is a slang term for a penis. The joke follows criticism of the football chief for refusing to allow goal-line technology in the tournament, which would have proved Frank Lampard scored against Germany. Online football forums were awash with comments about the blunder after it was spotted on the website for the South African presidency. One England fan remarked: “It just goes to show that 50 million people are not wrong!” Another added: “So is this the first official, presidentially sanctioned bellend in history?” Blatter received his Gold award at a gala dinner on Monday from South African President, Jacob Zuma. The accolade is one of the country’s highest distinctions and is bestowed on foreign citizens for contributions to peace, co-operation and the active expression of solidarity and support. Announcing the award, Mr Zuma said: “After FIFA awarded us the opportunity to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup on 15 May 2004, we embraced the tasks that you entrusted to us, working together as a nation. “The hosting of the 2010 World Cup has helped us consolidate the gains we achieved after attaining freedom in 1994.” Oliver Tambo was a former president in exile of the African National Congress (ANC) and played a significant role in mobilising international opposition to apartheid, setting up the first liberation movement missions in Egypt, Morocco, Ghana and London. Accepting his award, Blatter said: “I just have to express my thanks but my emotions are now overcoming my voice. “I'm touched by this honour. I would like to thank President Zuma and all the people of South Africa for this gesture. I take it for FIFA, the football family and my own family.” Asked for a comment about the name blunder, a spokesman for FIFA's Swiss HQ told The Sun: "I need to communicate the meaning of the word internally first."
  8. Every player is for sale at the right price. Don't give a f*** what your ITKs have agreed. If Modric goes Bale and VDV would follow very quickly after. If Modric goes in this window I'll happily give £100 to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, I've done that before but, on this occasion, I don't think I'll be donating anything. I'm very confident. What if Modric wants away to play CL? Not saying he's definitely off btw, just if a big enough bid comes in then he'll go. He's a cracking player but he's got his price, same as every other player. Modric has already said he will stay with Spurs to try to qualify for the CL again, last year he signed a 6 year contract. I'm not silly enough to believe he wouldn't press for a move at any time in the next 5 years if we didn't get CL but Levy will not antagonise the fans by selling Modric in this window unless a ridiculously high figure is offered. Levy stated that at the AGM to the shareholders and I don't believe for a minute that Levy would backtrack on that unequivocal statement.

Quoted, just in case. I won't need reminding, as I say I have donated before, early detection of cancer is something that is close to my heart and I still have family in the Newcastle area.

  11. Being said on KUMB that now Nolan has been signed West Ham have started negotiations with Spurs for the sale of Parker. Not surprised, typical 'Arry signing.
  12. Spurs not offering Woodgate a new contract
  13. On Twitter being said that Blackpool have accepted a Spurs bid for Charlie Adam.
  14. Being said on KUMB that the fee is £3m with add-ons taking it up to £4m. No idea how accurate that is.
  15. All the ITK's are agreed that Modric won't be sold, if he goes Bale and VDV will follow soon after. I fully expect Modric to be a Spurs player on 1st September.
  16. I know nothing about him but Arsenal's directors over the years have generally been very professional. On the couple of occasions I've met David Dein I've always been left with the wish that he and Levy could work together, they would be awesome. How Arsenal can ignore someone of his talent I will never understand. Obvious issue being he wants us to be like Chelsea and spunk money up the wall, we can't do that but he is a brilliant man and I spoke to him once outside the Emirates and he was a really top bloke who loves the club and he should be involved, although he won't be. His name was brought up at the AGM (to cheers btw) and was dismissed. I've only spoken to him twice after NLD's but never came across as someone who would spend money rashly tbh, though he did one time say something to the effect that no more than a third of the squad should be expected to be home produced. Even with Arsenal's youth production, that still leaves a minimum of 16 players in a squad of 25 to be brought in.

  18. Not surprised, Gazidis never struck me as a person who would want the lights turned off if the room was empty. I would imagine that Levy will be equally creative................

    Gervinho

Being said that Gervinho isn't one of Spurs' priority targets, just a back up just in case................ I might be wrong but I don't expect to see him in a Spurs shirt next season.
  20. Comolli wanted Spurs to sign Clichy as well, Wenger wouldn't sell so Comolli got Assou-Ekotto for £3m (iirc) instead. And that really is the point. He was involved with Henry's signing and was the driving force behind getting Berbatov but' generally speaking, his strength has been getting good, value for money youngsters. Although they may turn out to be cracking signings, I can't help but think that £35m for Carroll or £20m for Henderson are better deals for the selling clubs than for Liverpool.
  21. More about Damien Comolli changing than Liverpool in my opinion. He does identify good young talent, no question about it, did it for Arsenal, did it for Spurs and now doing it for Liverpool, he does have misses but he gets a good percentage of hits. The difference this time is the fees involved. The likes of Clichy, Toure, Lennon, Dawson, Huddlestone and Bale cost relatively little (£6m for Bale being the highest), the strategy at Liverpool is completely different. At Arsenal or Spurs he could afford to have some failures as the club would still probably get their money back. With Carroll and Henderson he cant afford to get it wrong. I'm not saying he has picked wrong'uns but I'm not totally convinced he's bought the best possible option at the best possible price either.
  22. They above must/have to be way off. Those figures look more ridiculous when Kyle Walker is listed at £5m. Been included in 3 England squads and only worth the same as Danny Rose and Jack Cork?
