  1. but all the Spurs ITKs agreed he wasn't?!?! It was Levy who said that Modric will not be sold this window to any club under any circumstances. The only person saying anything to the contrary has been Redknapp and he reputedly has his reasons for that.

    Joey Barton

Hope this is true like.............we'll see. I reckon Barton is going to make a definite decision tonight. From what he said when interviewed on SSN I don't think he'll be going to QPR. I've had my medical but that doesn't mean I'll go, I'll probably think it over for a few days............... Sounds more like hoping for some other club to come in for him.
  3. Unless he gets paid what he wants and not what Levy wants to pay him. Iago Falque Silva on loan to Spurs from Juve. With an option to buy? Dunno. Villareal had one but didn't take it up so I guess so. Being said it wasn't taken up because he was always injured. Should merge in well with our current midfield then.

  5. Granted a judicial review to be exact, to be held mid October. Don't want Spurs to get the OS, West Ham can't afford it or fill it which is bang in Orient's patch. The sensible decision would be for the OS to revert to the original plan, a 25000 seater and give it to Orient if they want it.
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14641254 Tottenham 'to drop 2012 Olympic stadium legal bid' By Adrian Warner Olympics correspondent, BBC London Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of abandoning their legal battle to take over the 2012 Olympic Stadium after the Games, BBC London can reveal. The club was due in the High Court on Wednesday seeking a judicial review over the Olympic Park Legacy Company's choice to hand the stadium to West Ham. But Spurs were involved in intense negotiations with the office of London Mayor Boris Johnson on Tuesday night. They are close to striking a deal to build a new stadium in north London. "If these negotiations are concluded successfully as expected, the appeal will be dropped," a senior government source told the BBC. This month's riots in north London have played a major role in persuading the club that they need to stay in Tottenham. Spurs have been looking for government and mayoral support for their plans for a bigger ground at a site in Northumberland Park, near White Hart Lane, for several months. Businesses in the area would have been hit hard if the club had moved away. The club realises that it is an integral part of rebuilding the area after the riots. Any deal with the mayor is expected to involved public funding, which Mr Johnson has already said he supports. Spurs had plans to develop the Northumberland Park site approved by the mayor in 2010 but escalating costs turned their focus towards taking over the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. Some fans staged a protest about the proposed move to east London, saying they wanted their club to remain in Tottenham. Spurs have played at White Hart Lane since 1899. Tottenham had already applied to the government's Regional Growth Fund for a grant to cover costs which would be associated with moving to Northumberland Park. They include upgrading public transport and providing training and employment opportunities for local people. Tottenham were struggling to win their legal battle with Olympic chiefs. A High Court judge had already turned down the club's first appeal for a judicial review. If the club now drops the second appeal, West Ham can go ahead with their plans to move into the Olympic Stadium by 2014. This would secure the legacy of the most high-profile venue at the Olympic Park and boost London's hopes of staging the 2017 World Athletics Championships. RT @DavidLammy: New White Hart Lane more likely than ever now. Good news for Spurs fans and Tottenham residents. (David Lammy is the MP for Tottenham).
  7. Modric won't leave (imo). Still very confident of that.
  8. Only on loan unless Levy has a complete rethink in the next week or so.
  9. Other Spurs insiders are saying that Modric has an injury which he could play with wiith an injection but doesn't want to. Not going on strike but not going out of his way to help either. 'Won't be sold under circumstances, can rot in the stands if necessary' is what I heard on day 1, still what was being said last night.
  10. He's injured. He's already refused to move to Stoke.
  11. Being said that deals for Adebayor and Diarra are both done.
  12. I do believe some £££s to the SBR Foundation were waged on Modric staying at Spurs (see Neil's sig). It's not on Neil's sig now but I'm putting up £100 to SBRF if Modric goes (though I'll probably do the same if he goes, it's a good cause). Whether Modric goes in this window is up in the air. At the time of the Chav's first bid Levy was unequivocal, Modric stays, we shift the deadwood and bring in the new bodies with that money and with what's in the transfer pot. The problem is the deadwood is near impossible to shift and Levy wants their wages off the books before the new bodies arrive. One option is to sell Modric, not because Levy's given in to Modric or Chelsea but because he wants books more balanced. Personally, I still think Modric will still be at Spurs come September but it's now nowhere near as clearcut as it was at the start of the window.

    Joey Barton

Spurs forum has got a Joey Barton Appreciation thread and fully deserved. No mean achievement to get 2 scum players 3 match bans in the same match
  14. I thought there was a wage structure at Spurs and no-one was on more than £50k or something? There is a wage structure. £75k is tops.
  15. Keane has gone for £2.2m is the downside, £75k off the weekly wage bill is the bright spot.
  16. City don't see Spurs as competition. With their resources, it's hard to argue with their opinion. This is what's been said about Adebayor................ Re Adebayor. Levy has reluctantly agreed to split his 175k a week wages on one yr loan city will pay rest of his wages, combination of 3 things now means this deal likely, mancini wants him away from first team squad,we are getting desperate and jose has not followed through with his initial interest our desperation re strikers is caused by a few factors, ridiculous asking prices, crazy wage demands and lastly harry constantly changing his f**king mind,he did it in all jan with van bommel and now is doing it with striking options,dl aint happy cos he knows harry is media savvy and will pass buck, dl will get grief if we are left with pav and crouch up top come sept, their relationship aint brill and as ive said before if there's either a slow start or harry goes down harry is toast. dl is big anceloti fan im not a huge dl fan but he is willing and able to spend 30million ish for right striker, wages of over 100k a week are a problem for us though, getting shot of a few bodies such as keano whos on 60k as week will help us no end we simply cant just add another 200-300k a week on wages without getting rid of some of our unwanted first teamers first Levy has flown to Portugal today, no one has said who he might be after after but most people are hoping for Falcao. Postiga more likely
  17. After years of winning nothing, Citeh are soon to be playing their local rivals in the Community Shield. And they still can't sell their ticket allocation. Big club my arse! http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Tickets-and-Travel/2011/July/Community-Shield-ticket-on-general-sale
  18. Bit of a sucky deal for Real considering he'll be playing for Chelski in the next 31 days. I've already pledged £100 to the SBR Foundation if Modric does go to the Chavs (or any other team for that matter) in this window. You're quite welcome to pledge the same if he doesn't. Typical bad ITK craic is that. Not at all. I offered to donate £100 in the middle of June, Neil's sig shows that. There's no disrespect intended to the SBR Foundation or to the memory of the man. I've donated £100 before and I've no qualms about doing the same again if I'm proved wrong.
  19. It's not agreeing to buy a player in 2 years time (as I understand it), it was an option to buy in 2 years time at a figure set now. More likely, it's a means to keep Modric happy and concentrated for the next 2 years. There's a figure of €12m being mentioned for Lass but it seems a bit on the low side tbh.

  21. Being strongly rumoured that Spurs will sign 2 players from Real Madrid, one permanent and one on loan. The popular guesses is Lass on permanent deal and Higuain/Benzema on loan. Part of the "deal" is for Real to have first option on Modric in 2 years time for a figure set now. No idea how accurate this is, be interesting if Spurs sign a player or two from RM in the next month or so, especially if one is permanent and the other a loan.
  22. Wouldn't expect anything else! The #11 is the Bale lookalike, highly thought of apparently.
  23. Levy has decided that it's cheaper to clone players rather than buy new ones............................. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/lads-start-well-in-milk-cup-260711.html
  24. Nope. We already have 5m in the kitty from O'hara plus Gio looks like he'll be off to Udinese for 10m shortly. Then hopefully Hutton joins Villa and Bentley, Jenas and Keane can f*** off to whoever takes them. The problem is we've already accepted Udinese's bid of £10m but Gio is adamant he wants to go to Sevilla who have only offered €7m. Big difference even before the change of currency. I think VI would be able to confirm it, but Gio is saying he went to Spain when he was 11 and isn't going anywhere unless it's in Spain. Knowing Levy, this will probably run until deadline day.
